Archer was probably so mean against Woodhouse because he felt that he was abandoned by him. He raised Archer for the first five years of his life, and then his mother came back for Archer. Passive aggressive parental abandonment would be my guess.

+covenantKiller2400 He's just a kid who never grew up. His mom treated him/treats him like shit, so he passes it on to Woodhouse, because he is an easy target. He also tries with Lana, and Lana screws him over back; but, it still seems to irritate Lana more than Archer anyway.

With everything Archer had gone through with growing up without his father, being bullied and humiliated in school, losing McGinley (who taught him to be who he is today), and having a rough relationship with his mother. It’s understandable with how he turned out under those circumstances. I just felt sympathetic for Archer. I would feel bad when he would mess up, and with how stuff has happened in his life. I could be wrong but I think this was mentioned after Katya’s death that the reason he’s rude is because he doesn’t want to go through the pain of losing someone he loves. Archer really did seem to be better with Katya but she died and was brought back by Krieger and had sex with his rival Barry. And even though this was in his coma, Archer did show actual sorrow and sadness for Woodhouse when he was found dead in Archer Dreamland. I just can’t hate or dislike Archer. Archer is one whose history is long , tough and sad. Even though that shouldn’t excuse his behavior, it’s understandable why he’s like this. I feel sympathy and while it was slow, he did show some moments and even episodes of growth. He offered to be Pam’s date to her sister’s wedding, he wants to be there for AJ (considering one of the factors is that he grew up without a father and didn’t want AJ to end up like him), he loaned Lana his swimsuit when she was pregnant, he comforted Lana when she discovered Robert had cheated, and more.

My neighbors. The youngest caught daddy and his mistress having a little afternoon delight. He became an angry little boy. The parents spoiled him rotten and he began abusing his dad. The mom allowed it as payback to her husband for the affair. The dad is a broken old man, sonny boy is in his 30s, is a loser excon and still uses daddy as a punching bag. And old mommy still allows it. ...probably till the grave.

Consider the fact that Woodhouse was drifting around aimlessly for God knows how many years hopped up on opium, and the only thing that Malory remembers about Archer's conception is a jazzy blur.

@@mightyninjamartin5837 maybe they were both lying to him? He was a drummer in Cherlene's band (She mentions being with a drummer). He mentions something about how sexy Mallory truly is in one of the episodes (believe was the Burt Reynolds episode). He was a war hero in that Tontine episode (Kinda like the John Fitzgerald Archer she mentions to Archer as a child that was his father). The only story that throws it off is when Woodhouse meets Mallory, she's already pregnant when she enters Woodhouse's bar. Idk if we'll ever find out who his real father truly is, unless Mallory's will mentions something about it, since her voice actress is dead. Otherwise, that's just a theory.
