Also the hex that was placed on the master emerald was strong enough to prevent anyone else from using the emeralds power except finitevus himself. By every account something like this should have happened to sonic in canon.

Silver could technically beat him. Mammoth Mogul could. Knuckles could find a way to purify the Master emerald and purge Sonic of the hex. But like Finitivus showed, a life has to be sacrificed to purge the hex off Sonic and Enerjak. They're both linked to the Master Emerald

"I do not believe that to be wise," Enerjak interjected. "We have no idea what this thing is capable of, we must terminate it immediately." Finitevus chuckled. "Fear not, my hex shall bind this "Dark Sonic" under my will. Regardless of what makes him, all Chaos bows before-" *"Pathetic palor tricks"* Dark suddenly spoke in distorted version of Sonic's voice, striking primordial fear in all those who heard. A pillar of Negative Chaos Energy erupted where Dark stood, despelling the energy binding him. "What?!" Dr. Finitevus exclaimed, baffled by this being ignoring his hex as if it were nothing but a nuisance. Exe stood frozen during the entire exchange, his heartbeat deafening his ears as he breathed heavily. Dark featureless face somehow glared at Exe from the pillar of energy that surrounded him, before taking. One. Step. In a flash, the world was swallowed by darkness, Exe, stepping back in fruitless attempt to save himself, was only bombarded with blows from all sides. His heartbeat was still all he heard, its pace quickening rapidly until-! It stopped. With one final blow, its impact piercing through his the sound of his heart like the shattering of glass, his eyes began to close, the endless darkness around him. Just then, a glittering light came into view, as memories, Sonic's memories, began to flood him all at once, good and bad. The pain of his saddest memories was eclipsed by the warmth of his happiest, as a single desire was born inside him. He wants to keep going. He wants even more places, make even more friends, and face down greater challenges. As the dark chasm was illuminated, an outstretched hand was defined, causing the hedgehog to see it belonged to none other than Dark. The once faceless shade now bore a face similar to his own, reaching it out to him as the void around them became similar to cosmos of stars born from their memories. A smile crept on to his face, as *Sonic* grabbed onto the hand reaching out to him, as his darkness itself smiled back. Back in reality, the darkness that enveloped the world was shattered, as a cobalt light shined withing its center, gathering 7 lights to its side. Finitevus and Enerjak watched in awe as the lights began devouring darkness around them, darkening themselves. But that only made their luster shine even more, as a hedgehog emerged from the seven darkened lights uniting with the central light, quills and fur a night blue with stripes similar to those of shadow baring the lower ones had stripes on the bottom. His shoes also changed, becoming an almost Blue-ish purple color and gaining claws. "I see you've reached your full potential by absorbing your positive self, Dark." Dr. Finitevus said, masking his distress at this current predicament. "But your power will bow to me all the-" "Sorry to say doc, you're completely wrong." The Hedgehog spoke, not even bothering to face them as his back was turned. "There is no 'Dark'," The Hedgehog said, suddenly appearing in front of Enerjak, delivering a devastating punch that sent the demi-god flying like a rag-doll. Dr. Finitevus watched on in horror as his strongest weapon was outmatched so easily. The Hedgehog turned to him, golden eyes smiling mockingly. "There's only me." Sonic stated, his voice clear as day.

Enerjak roared in rage and frustration as he charged at the night blue headgehog, only for the innumerable blows he threw to be easily dodged and/or countered. Sonic grabbed the demi-god of an Echidna by the arm, flinging Enerjak to the ground with enough force to split and form a crater. The Echidna tried to get up but was crushed by an energy construct shaped like a fist, Sonic hurling even more constructs at the Echidna to keep him pinned before delivering a titanic punch. The air was forced out of him, as Enerjak experienced a surge of negative chaos energy ripple through him. As Sonic inspected his foe, who was twitching from the foreign energy flowing through his system, the Hex aura enveloped him once more. He turned to the albino Echidna behind him, the aura of hands burning fiercely. His composure was gone, rage evident on his expression. "How many times does this make? Sonic asked rhetorically. "How is this possible, hedgehog?" Finitevus fumed. "Even with as a Super form, the Negative Chaos Energy should be vastly inferior to the Positive. Yet here you are making my greatest work nothing more than a joke!" Sonic chuckled, only causing Finitevus to grow even more furious. "STOP LAUGHING AND ANSWER M-" The white Echidna was cut off by Sonic slaming him by the neck to the ground. *"What made you think you can make demands?"* The hedgehog spoke with such bloodlust it left the Doctor speechless. "But hey, I'm a nice guy so I'll explain it." Sonic's expression relaxed, letting Finitevus go as the Echidna searched for air. "Although I don't understand this fully myself."

"Chaos Energy is divided into two halves, Positive and Negative, each feeding of their respective emotions." Sonic began explaining. "When one tries to use the Emeralds while their heart is brimming with Negative emotions, that side of the Emeralds' power will be drawn out, powering the user like a Super form." "Which what that previous guardian of the Emeralds, Chaos once did, deforming it into a monster." Finitevus interjected, as he got up. "But as I'm sure you remember your Super state defeated him in battle because the Positive side of the Emeralds was far superior to-" "I didn't beat him, I calmed him down." Sonic stated, much to Echidna's confusion. "Chaos' Negative Energy was going wild, it was out of control, it was unfocused." "Chaos was just taking out his Negative emotions on everyone else, exhausting his Negative Energy." Sonic explained, as an image of Perfect Chaos and his Positive Super form appeared in his head. "All I did was take the chance to load him full of my Positive Energy and emotions, calming him down and causing his Negative Energy to dissipate." Image of the two showed Sonic's Energy filling Chaos as his Negative Energy kept going down until it was gone. "What does this mean, hedgehog?" Finitevus inquired, growing intrigued by the conversation. Sonic outstretched his arms. "This is Negative Chaos at its true state." He said, referring to his new form.

"The Chaos Emeralds are called that for a reason, they're always in a state of instability, the two Energies with them fighting for dominance." Sonic said, as now an image of the two powers appeared in his mind. "The Positive side multiplies its own power constantly, but the Negative side devours most of that power until it swallows everything, only to repeat the process." Sonic looked at Finitevus in the eyes as he spoke. "This is what the true Super form born from Negative Chaos Energy is, a black hole devouring all energy around at a whim." Sonic says, as his energy suddenly flared, causing some of the grass around him to wilt. As Sonic calmed his power, Finitevus connected the dots. "While that explains how you'd possibly fight on even grounds with Enerjak, it doesn't explain how you had such an overwhelming advantage." Sonic shot a wink as he pointed. "You can thank your Hex for that one!" He exclaimed, making Finitevus baffled, then furious. "What...?" "The Hex made the Positive Energy even easier to absorb!" Sonic explained with a grin. "It was surprisingly similar to the Negative Energy too, although it's nothing more than a pale imitation though." Finitevus' fists shoke with fury. "This isn't over hedgehog, I can still push Enerjaks power beyond its limits, and with them he will crush-" Finitevus was cut of when a certain other Echidna spoke. "Could you two shut up already? My head's aching as is." Knuckles said as he climbed out the crater.
