Quantum Computing has the potential to change our lives and far exceed the capabilities of today’s supercomputers. Join James Clarke, Director of Quantum Computing at Intel Labs, as he runs through the basics of quantum mechanics, what components make up a quantum computer, when we’ll achieve quantum practicality, and more.
During his 20 years at Intel James Clarke has been a process engineer, led advanced interconnect research, and launched Intel’s Quantum Computing efforts with a focus on leveraging our in-house transistor process and manufacturing capabilities to create scalable qubit arrays. He’s co-authored over 50 papers and holds multiple patents.
Architecture All Access is a master class technology series featuring Senior Intel Technical Leaders taking an educational approach to the historical impact and future innovations of key architectures that will continue to be at the center of ‘world-changing technology that enriches the lives of every person on earth.’ If you are interested in CPUs, FPGAs, Quantum Computing and beyond, subscribe and hit the bell to get new episode notifications.

This outreach and production is fantastic with 12:36 resonating so true. How can independent computer-engineering tech companies, receive funding from Intel at 5:40 and collaborate with with Intel to develop qubit hardware and architectures which leverage and roadmap into Intel's manufacturing processes? For example, in my research 2:26 are 2-state qubits which scale with 2^n with 2 being the number of simultaneous states and n being the number of qubits. But the true power is in having N-state qubits with N^n, with N simultaneous states, and n being the number of those qubits. There's a "Quantum Moore's laws" going on: One in scaling the number of qubits n (little n), and another in developing multi-state qubits. 2^n, 3^n.....N^n (Big N).

Just throwing my opinion out there, a coin has more than two states. It can land on its side, and from a 2D viewpoint, that would be like seeing only the coin's edge. Think of coins like tristates in that case, instead of just 1s and 0s you have a gray zone as well.

Export the Azure, Chat GPT, Revit, Plant 3D, Civil 3D, Inventor, ENGI file of the Building or Refinery to Excel, prepare Budget 1 and export it to COBRA. Prepare Budget 2 and export it to Microsoft Project. Solve the problems of Overallocated Resources, Planning Problems, prepare the Budget 3 with which the construction of the Building or the Refinery is going to be quoted.

This is a great explanation, but I am still confused on many points with this idea. You are not claiming that an electron can represent a bit correct? Because we still measure current bits via a voltage passing some threshold, so how could measure such a thing on an electron. Also you still need two sources to make the super position part correct? I think those are my main questions that I get lost on, thank you in advance!

There is still no practical use for quantum computers maybe it makes sense to pump money into it but i wouldn’t put too much into it. I‘m not sure why it makes sense to use these random number generators both states basically means both outputs. The state doesn’t help when you can’t define it which makes the qbit useless.

They’re just trying to control the outcome of “luck”. That’s all it is. If you can control the outcome then anything is possible. That’s true science turning fiction into reality. They keep trying to make a faster speed when they should trying to pinch the space in between. Etc. make the circuits look like humans that’s what the point of the ancient cultures drew on the ground.
