APOLLO Architects & Associates designed a house "TIMELESS" in Tokyo, Japan.
The house is designed for a couple who have grown up and are ready for senior life. The architects have designed two courtyards inside the building, one large and one small, which function as external living spaces and light wells. This creates a space where the interior and exterior can be gently traversed, with a view to Corona and beyond.

Such an elegant design, giving maximum privacy in a city crammed full of people and houses, as well as clever utilisation of lightwells to provide plenty of light to every room, and natural scenes to look out on and enjoy. Would love to buy the plans for this house!

This is my alltime favorite house.Living here in California where the architecture is so dull, boring and old fashiond, as a retired builder this house is so refreshing and beautiful.

you're better off finding an architect who understands how modern concrete drives climate change and knows there are far more beautiful natural alternatives to highly industrialised Portland cement

郊外の眺めの良い丘の上とかならともかく、東京のど真ん中の住宅街じゃ「外見てどうすんの？」って感じだし周囲の視線や騒音、防犯対策としても強いこういう家が好まれる 実際、東京の住宅街の一戸建てってせっかく窓があっても雨戸まで閉め切ってるような家もかなり多い 外が見えりゃ機能的ではなくて、ロケーションによって求められる機能は変わるのよ
