Watching this for the second time, because it really does watch like an HBO Sci-Fi mini-series (caught it the first time on stream). My friend picked up the base game and we gave it a shot, just us 2, without leaders and lore since it was our first game. Wow, what a great game! Just the base game, no frills, easily one of the best tactical games I've ever played, which includes root and war of the ring. He's picking up the campaign soon because we're so excited for it! Loved this playthrough, love the game, thank you for playing it for our viewing pleasure, and thank you to Leder Games for making this possible! PS. Subbed to the patreon after this to watch the round table talk for both the one-shot and the campaign, looking forward to more Arcs and Oath!

Really great playthrough of Act 1! Great overview of the game, everyone around the table are very knowledgeable and into it, and you have the stream to help in case you break any rules (which you don't!). You've set the bar really high, guys. 🙉

I have a question. During the first event Ken got 2 non-loyal dudes off the card that he wanted to secure. Surely this wasn’t necessary since he had the next turn and could just grab it?

You are correct! however, I believe this was a good faith trade on kens part since the only reason negotiations are binding is because they happen instantly. if ken had just negotiated that kyle not pursue that card any further, kyle could have betrayed him. alternatively, kyle might not have wanted his dudes to end up captives by ken. mechanically, unnecessary, and possibly even a poor trade for ken in the short term, but in the long run, pays off as ken does not make himself target until later and is able to pursue his objectives unimpeded until then
