Its a relationship song for sure. I heard its about a hotel room and about how its tough to manage a relationship and a job where you work away. So its about them arguing and i look at it like hes going back to work away again, so back to the hotel room.

505 it's also a metaphor for a phase in their relationship where things were fine, and now the relationship is, well, not fine "Room 505 is a metaphor for a place where everything was fine in their relationship, and the person in the relationship wants to go back there because now it's killing them that everything is falling apart. 'I'm going back to 505 if its a seven-hour flight or a forty-five-minute drive. In my imagination, you're waiting lying on your side"
