+Katie Medlin oh yes, this album is fucking magic, that can never be created again. but they could cut it with the slow, unoriginal garbage they've been giving us.
@katie85288 жыл бұрын
Jordon Brewer Exactly!! This greaser, cool-guy facade they've been giving us the last two albums is pushing me over the brink. I am holding out some hope for the next album, but Alex's side project also mirrored the negative turn the Monkey's took. All I can do is hope for the best in the future :( pray for faster songs and good lyrics haha
@jordonbrewer20108 жыл бұрын
+Katie Medlin precisely, I understand smoking has stunned Alex's ability to sing. but he can still write good lyrics, and he doesn't even need to do the rap-speed songs that he used to, all in asking for is higher tempo'd songs and the Shakespearean esque peotry he used to write. and I know that seems like a bit much to ask, but the bands magic came from Turner's story telling. "OH YOUVE SAVED ME, she screams down the line. The ban was fuckin' WANK! And I'm not having a nice time." "anticipation has a habit to set you up, for disappointment in evening entertainment, but..." "and she wont be surprised and she wont be shocked when she's pressed the star after she's pressed on lock and there's verse and chapter sat on her inbox, and all it says, is that you drank allot." And if you look through AM there actually is some clever writing here and there. Turner is still capable of good writing, he just fucking doesn't. and it makes me really fucking ANGRY!

I had a vision of the Monkeys in their sixties playing this as their final live song ever and when Alex reached the final verse he look at his bandmates and started choking up when he delivered "what can I say I've known 'em for a long, long time". Then during the final instrument they just killed it and were all crying bittersweet tears and hugged after and I cried just thinking about it. And I'm sure all of their (50+ year old) fans in be crowd would be bawling, as well. That would be a sweet send off.
