***** TuRtLeSaC95 Calm down men, other opinions must be respected. I still think Alex Turner is the best songwriter nowadays. I don't know much about the other two, but I know that most of their songs are about love. Alex can talk about love, the society or anything in a very great way, always using metaphors or expressions. I think the best lyrics he wrote are from Humbug.

Amulya Bhattarai It actually is difficult. At least for a good part of guitar players (actually everyone I know). Don't be the "I'm better than you" guy.
@AmulyaBhattarai10 жыл бұрын
eneakorcari sorry man. wasnt trying to be that guy haha. ok, what i really mean is that its difficult at the start, but once you get that riff into memory, the singing isn't too hard.

At the beginning it is difficult. You just have to get used to the tempo of things and sooner or later you'd get the hang of it. I'm pretty sure that for Alex this song is like clockwork :)

The American audience is just like "....so this is what good music is"
@Nightwishmaster9 жыл бұрын
Yeah because we wouldn't know what good music is..... ROFL... If they really think that it's likely because they don't remember the days before Alex started changing the pitch of his voice in that incredibly irritating way he does now... I don't understand why people get so mad about their change of appearance or the way Alex sways his hips like he's Elvis or whatever these days. I don't care what they look like, they could keep wearing the clown outfits for all I care, but I do care about their sound which has gone terribly downhill. Their shows now are so slow and boring, they seem burned out and like they don't care and Alex never sings well anymore. It would be one thing if he just COULDN'T sing anymore, but he can, it always comes out for a few seconds at a time but it's like as soon as he realizes he's singing properly again he drops back into that annoying pitch. :(

It blows my mind that he's using a 12 string guitar for a song that doesn't even require six strings.
@dobrescucosmin543510 жыл бұрын
***** Might be the case but I've always seen him using this guitar for Do I wanna know, so I think he just does it to look interesting.
@dobrescucosmin543510 жыл бұрын
X001003 Congrats for the oh so eloquent explanation.. "cause the sound he gets", you sound like some sort of guitar techie. I'd ask you what the diference is from the 6 to the 12 string guitar but I'd be rather spared of the wiki article you'd paste into the comment box. He doesn't use it for the "sound he gets", you don't need any special sound for that riff, as I've mentioned before, I can get this amazingly breakthrough sound on my shitty ass Squire. If Steve Vai can play Tender surrender on a 6 string or Yngwie Malmsteen can play Far beyond the sun on a six string then so could Turner play this piece of shit, beginner's course riff. Unless he wanted so much to look special, for no reason, making an asshole of himself yet again.
@thekosmics73310 жыл бұрын
Dobrescu Cosmin Relax dude! True I agree with you about him using the 12 string guitar cause it's not really necessary but I think it's cause he used it to record the song, so I guess he wants to get the studio sound when he plays live which is why he uses the guitar. It's a different generation, I get that this song is easy as hell to play but Steve and Malmsteen (dunno a lot about Malmsteen) are from a different era when music had so many guitar riffs and solos, and music had more depth... that sadly you don't hear as much anymore because it's all about the looks and fame, and dumbass teenagers rather than the music... I like AM, don't get me wrong, but I respect your opinion cause I understand where you're getting at from a musician's POV! Cheers man.
@unforeseeninsight10 жыл бұрын
Dobrescu Cosmin Clam down, he's Alex Turner. he can play which ever guitar he wants. Obviously he chose this beautiful tear drop VOX star stream because he liked what it could lend to the performance--whether it's for show or for it's sound quality, Maybe the Les Paul or Country Gentleman were buried too deep in the gig van and this one happened to be on top of the stack and got pulled out easily. Who blood cares, it's his song, his guitar, and as Dave said, "that's all you need to know."
@Blamestripes10 жыл бұрын
Dobrescu Cosmin He wrote the song on this guitar and recorded it on it as well. Oh and call him out as much as you want but unlike Malmsteen he manages to write music people actually want to listen too, just because its easy to play doesn't mean its not a fantastic riff.

So many comments about “oh my god he’s using a 12 string” the dude is literally using 2 of those 12 for this song XD it’s stupidly easy to play (sounds great though so hey being easy is a nice benefit) I’d assume he’s using it for the pickups idk what that model is or what they’ve put on it to say that for sure but hey maybe he just thinks it looks cool/enjoys playing it who cares
@K0kEEE3 жыл бұрын
First of all cretin, if hes playing a 12 string he's clearly using more then 2 strings. And he's using it cause the riff is played on a 12 string in the recording, he's using it cause he wants that higher octave sound.
