People give AM shit because it's what made them really famous. As an Arctic Monkeys longtime fan, it's still great. Probably one of their best albums just because of it's mood and style. And the 3 AM feeling you get from listening to it, like you're wandering around at night after just going through a rough breakup, and the only thing that's supporting you is a cigarette, damn that hits. Every album has a mood to it. Humbug expresses darkness and mystery, Favourite Worst Nightmare captures sadness and loss, and their first album is about the comings and goings of a teenager in britain. Just realize, Arctic Monkeys never make 2 albums in a row that sound the same. Get used to it. They're going to change it up, whether you like it or not. You can support their decision without hating on them and the people that like the album.
