The last section will only sound good if you can tell most of the instruments' melodies being played and their variations on that segment. There is *a lot* going on in that outro and it's completely understandable if you don't enjoy it at first listen, but trust me it's amazing once you can connect each instrument to another while you listen to it, especially the bass and piano. i'm only saying all this because this is personally my favorite song of the band just because of the instrumental complexity of those 2 minutes (that you did not appreciate!!) It hurts

Thanks for watching! I understand what you mean, maybe upon listening to it again I'd enjoy the outro more. -JP

This song is amazing and the album is super dope. Its a concept album that most people didnt understand. Im not even a fan, but really dig this album. Love the concept of a casino and hotel resort on the moon. "Cute new places keep on popping up around Clavius". Clavius is the named location of the largest crater on the moon. And that chorus also changes to include the Exodus. Meaning from earth. Also, the Information Action Ratio is "relationship between a piece of information and what action, if any, a consumer of that information might reasonably be expected to take once learning it". Fuckin smart song. Well thought album.

Babylonkid One of my favorite albums to come out in recent years. Saw them perform it a few times live as well and they delivery these songs with some real raw execution. Loved your write-up. I’ve been defending this work since it came out and I’m surprised how much I’ve had to do. Like, can people not tell how good this is?

@@jacksonizzy1 thanks for the compliment! I think, since there isn't a commercial radio hit on the album, most people won't like it. I have watched a few of their life performances from this album on KZfaq. Great stuff man.

Lat to this but I never listened to Arctic Monkeys outside of hearing "Do I Wanna Know" in passing. One day Spotify played a track from this album and I got hooked because I was surprised they went with this sound. Same goes with The Car. Some are put off by Turner's vocal style in this but I love it. He's clearly seeing what else his voice can do.

Awesome! Been waiting for this :D I love the riff on this song and I personally don't mind the repetitiveness as long as there's still some variety to it. Still liked this video, and since you asked for another one from the same album, I'd have to recommend "She Looks Like Fun". Otherwise, the bassline and drumming on "Tranquility Base Hotel and Casino", the song, is also really good. Thank you guys for the awesome video and I'm glad that you find what the Arctic Monkeys are trying to do interesting to say the least.

It's funny to think this is the same band that played "I bet you look good on the dancefloor", their sound has evolved so much through the years! I personally like this song a lot, even though I agree about the last section: it could have been shorter, the song would have benefited from that. Anyway, since you made some reactions to Team Sleep a while ago, I would love to see you react to more of their stuff, and also to some songs by Crosses, another one of Chino Moreno's side projects ;)

I've never heard this song before (and I can't remember if I've heard the band itself?), but the vocal delivery seriously made me think of David Bowie. Edit: I've scrolled down to the other comments, and I see everyone's had this thought too, haha.

I don't see any old school new wave bands in your library. Lots of those bands are being played in retro film and tv, and their songs are being remade left and right, so you guys might have heard of a lot of them. I must give you ten suggestions nonetheless: The Cure - "Push", "Fascination Street", "The Kiss" The Smiths - "There is a Light That Never Goes Out", "Girl Afraid", "The Queen is Dead" New Order - "Blue Monday", "Bizarre Love Triangle", "Dream Attack" The Stone Roses - "I am the Resurrection", "Bye Bye Badman", "Driving South" Jane's Addiction - "Three Days", "Ted, Just Admit It", "Summertime Rolls" Ride - "Polar Bear", "OX4", "Time Machine" Oingo Boingo (Danny Elfman's band) - "No One Lives Forever", "We Close Our Eyes", "Home Again" Talking Heads - "Nothing But Flowers", "City of Dreams", "Psycho Killer" Tears For Fears - "Woman in Chains", "Badman's Song", "Broken/Head Over Heals" Sinead O'Connor - "Troy", "Sacrifice", "Three Babies"

The lead vocalist sings like David Bowie. Is that good or bad? It depends on my mood. If I want to rock out, not good. But if I want to visualize a theatrical performance by a vocalist, then yes, I would like to hear something like this.

Edward Ballew Alex is heavily inspired and influenced by David Bowie. The whole band is influenced by The Strokes, Black Sabbath and Hip-hop in general. If you want to rock out go and listen to tracks like Brianstorm, Teddy Picker- hell just listen to the FWN album or have a listen to I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor.

I used to *really, really* dig this band, until I got a little bored of it and started exploring other genres like blues rock, heavy metal, prog rock and *little bit* of jazz. I gotta say, though, that now that I'm revisiting this particular song, I think it actually sounds awesome. I do have some complaints, though: *Alex Turner's singing in this album seems a tad bit forced, maybe even pretentious. He's a very good singer, though. *Yeah, the ending goes for too long. I really like the instrumentation in the back, but the vocals make me bored after repeating the same group of lines for like 10 times. Generally speaking, though, I'm pleasantly surprised with how I take this song now. I feared that I might have had become some kind of elitist and would hate the song, but if anything I appreciate it more now. Interesting.

This is a mess. They threw everything in there. I hear a little bit of Bowie, Queen, Pink Floyd...it's all disjointed parts. They might have changed their lead singer, for all I know. Haven't listened to them in a long time, because I got sick of them real quick. Seems like their career has the same trajectory as that of The Strokes. First couple albums define their style, then they branch off and experiment, with wildly different results. They add more (needless) effects and the vocals change quite a bit, turning into impersonations more often than not. Makes even more sense to me when I look at the album cover, which is very reminiscent of Angles...
