Personality has nothing to do with songwriting. Lou Reed's lyrics make Alex Turner look like a 10 year old's first attempt at poetry, and he is still considered an asshole by most of the people that admire him

Update to 2017: i’m still listening to this and people around me are obsessing over ‘young dumb and broke’ it’s not a bad song but when people play it over and over again like it’s the best song ever it’s getting annoying. Seriously I can’t even find a single person who actually likes good music.

Emin Bayramov They ain't underrated... Their album sales show that! Their debut album sold, the same as both Bastille's & The 1975 debut sales times 10 in the first week! So around 370,000 (Whatever People Say I Am That's What I'm Not) In total the first album sold around 1,500,000 albums in the UK alone:P + Please don't even put Justin Bieber in the same comment as them... hahaha (+ They have played Reading, Madison Square Garden, Glastonbury, Finsbury Park, all across America, South America and the Olympics! They have 5 number one albums, so for a Alternative Rock band in the 21st century.. they have done well for themselves!)

@fedoratheexplora46639 жыл бұрын
Henry Waldruff Some of Alex Turner's lyrics are genius though.. not so much on this album, some good ones, though on old ones, they are fantastic! They are actually probably at the level of Kurt Cobain at some points!
@aunthaumv37118 жыл бұрын
+CLTMX wth are u actually comparing kurt cobain to alex turner's lyricism..kurt talks nonsence most of the time.and AM has lyrics that are equally as good as their past albums, like arabella, R U mine and do i wanna know.
@fedoratheexplora46638 жыл бұрын
deez135 nuatz Kurt Cobain came up with his lyrics from humming the melody of the tune most likely.. he had one liners and worked from there! But some of Cobain's lyrics are great references to books and are very metaphorically! Though Alex Turner is brilliant, Alex Turner was my introduction to rock!
@aunthaumv37118 жыл бұрын
