Reviewing the wonderful Ardbeg 19 Traigh Bhan. This time around I pit the Batch 1against the Batch 2 to see which one is better. Which one do you think will come out on top?

Good head to head, enjoyed watching it 👍. Good to see Ardbeg now expanding their core range whiskies. This is waaaaay out of my price range though so I’ll stay with the 10 and the ugi. Cheers again for this fun video.👍🥃💪

Thanks MA I was looking forward to this review. For my next Whiskey evening with the guys I am doing an Ardbeg theme. I have Batch 2 on order and going to do a blind tasting with the guys. The line up will be the TEN, Uigeadail & Batch 2. It should make for an interesting evening.

Great review, opened my batch 3 a few weeks ago and it was good but taking my massive Ardbeg fanboy hat off, I wasn’t as impressed as with the batch 2 at the distillery…..possibly the surroundings improved it for me. I’ve got my twenty two something to try in a few weeks, so let’s see how that ranks.

Didn't realize it was 46%. If I was spend that much 💰I am looking at a Laphroaig 25. But since I'm not I think it's a great video. The Ardbeg10 is the greatest value product in the world. Where else can you get a Jaguar for the price of a Honda? It's difficult to even look at other whisky when the king is already on the bar. The question is: Is a dram of this 19 a MaClaren for the price of a MaClaren? Sounds like maybe not. Age does have some value and I drink so few 20+ year olds that I may never truly appreciate it, but I'm willing to pay the premium to find out.

Agree 100% on the Ardbeg 10. It's a luxury car for the price of a Pinto. Do I think the 19 is worth spending all that cash on? Yes, if you're curious. No, if you're just looking for a whisky to drink.

Curiosity is how my journey started. Value and taste and age...WTF? Was nice to explore 10 & 12 year olds for 2 for $100. Now we see 2/$130, all in the name of research. The only Ardbeg have open at the moment are Corryvrecken and Wee Beastie. Seems like a Traigh Bhan may cost about $300 while a Supernova is $200. What's a guy to do?????

Worth paying a bit more for the Corryvreckan... it has more depth..

@@theseeker3771NAS and high proof!! Peat like that should completely satisfy. But what happens? We see that Cory is a bit pricey and there are other options out there...we are truly spoiled for choice. A year later I am in the "disillusioned" stage. Actually I'm trying to come to terms with this hobby where we live by the " law of diminishing returns ". The investment has to compromise between quality, quantity and value. And the FOMO. I still stand by Ardbeg's core range while waiting to buy my next Cairdeas (possibly the last of the prices skyrocket). What would I do with a $300 bottle of Traigh Bahn? When I could buy a Kilkerran batch, a Kilchoman single cask and an Ardbeg10 or 3 Corryvreckans.
