It's funny. I just finished off a bottle of ardbeg 10, and the majority of the things you said to describe the 25 was my experience with the 10. Its hard to hate ardbeg but I'm not in love with it. There's an aggression to it that relegates it to the occasional pour at most. Even though I adore its delicate fruit/floral character I rather laphroaig.

How interesting - I think I tend to be the other way around as I find more fruit in the core release Ardbegs ☺️

Wow that peaked my interest as an huge Ardbeg fanatic. Getting my Ardcore tomorrow. This is an interesting one. Must be very expensive by my guess also. Not like the 600€ bottles I have here. Interesting flavor combinations.

I have not tried Ardbeg 25, but I do have a bottle of Ardbeg 22. It does have a very subtle bitter note to it that I do not get from other Ardbeg expressions.

It is actually on sale at a large online retailer in Germany for €1000 and I am still hesitating if I shall order a bottle. I can't decide....

Oh it didn’t know it was cognac day! Funnily enough I was browsing for holidays to Cognac yesterday 🍇 Do you have any cognac recommendations for me ? ☺️

@@swedishwhiskygirl Well, I'm a stickler for no-additives spirits, and most Cognacs are dosed with sugar syrup (boisé). I also never go all the way down to 40% for my abvs. Looking at Master of Malt here, I see the Remi Landier Special Pale Cognac. No dosage - and 45%. Daniel Bouju makes nice brandy, despite mostly 40% bottles. Cognac house Jean Fillioux, coloring in their younger expressions, but no sugar to my knowledge. Some affordable Cognac there ^ . Delamain XO (they add e150, but no boisé) Anyway, stay away from the bigger industrial cognac factories at least, Martell, Remy Martin, those big name brands. And again, go for @ least slightly-higher-than-standard-40% stuff. Difficult sometimes to find out if there's sugar stirred down into a bottle without emailing the Cognac houses themselves.

And then of course, there's Armagnac! MoM has the Tariquet 12, Folle Blanche grape, cask strength in stock as well. No additives there. The final few glasses of the 12FB - liquid chocolate, haha. Solid price too, in my opinion. - Well! -

Whisky - not Whiskey. I'm sorry but a real single malt enthusiast should not make such a mistake.
