I really like the use of a transformer to secure the current of the optokopplers diode. However I dislike the uses of blocking funktions like delays or serial.write in a interrupt service routine. I recommend to seta flag in the ISR and to handle this in the main loop

Great video! I made the same using PIC microcontroller. But nowadays, it is no longer very practical because resistive load bulbs are no longer used. I'm currently using "Dimmable LED dichroic" with this circuit, but it is not the same! Low dimerization doesn't come down so elegant, even doesn't came to zero effectively.

For what are you using the Zero Crossing Detector? Is it for turning syncronizing the Arduino, so that the Demo Circuit gets turned on when the AC voltage crosses zero? And if so why don't you make use of it in your code?

Hey, I saw you using MOC3021 which is a zero-cross triac driver. Isn't a random phase triac driver suitable for phase angle control?

You then have to use it for every phase its better to use VFD instead of this because by this method the motor may gets damaged due to high current at low voltages..

You have to take in mind that the zero crossing point is where the steepest current flow in a sinusoidal curve occurs. So maybe this isn't what you want when inductive loads like motors are involved. Calculations first:)

Yes, you can use the MOC3023 and you don't need to change anything in the circuit. The only difference between the 21, 22 and 23, is the current needed through the input LED to ensure the latching of the TRIAC output, beeing the 3023 the ones that needs less current to do that, and if the circuit is designed for the 3021, and it works well, surely it will works with the 3023
