The specifics of FCC and UL approvals are a huge barrier to market entry for inventors - something I personally believe should be fundamentally changed to allow a lower cost fast-track for "makers". If we could change the status-quo, then inventors could stop spending other people's money, stop going bankrupt, stop screwing investors, etc., and start to have more bootstrapped startups succeed in a product launch and re-investment of self-generated funds.

Totally agree, as long as unsafe products don't get to market. In particular, FCC costs are way too high!

You're simply wrong about having to open source your source code on Arduino, unless that source is modification of core Arduino libraries themselves. This is typical of any open source project library under eg LGPL.

I say you may have to "potentially" share your files, the key is "potentially". Most people grab code from other projects and it's almost always CCSA or attribution. So, yes you most likely do have a moral obligation to share the code, but not always. These are all things to consider, no laws, but certainly ethical considerations.

YOu are the only KZfaqr, who replies quick. you are the best. I am working on a project but this time instead of Arduino there is raspberry pi and there is no video available on your channel. I am using proteus for the simulation. can you help me out to use raspberry pi on the Proteus simulation? I am facing some error. I think the error is the python compiler not available on the proteus.

That's a big question, and one that I deal with every day. Marketing is a strange thing with the internet and social media. I can't give any real advice without know a lot more information, as it depends on if you are b2b or b2c, direct to consumer, etc. In general I do believe that openness, transparency, and community are key factors for a good marketing plan. Hey Mark, can it be done to have 3/4 different cameras, that snap a photo in the same moment?

Sorry for the late response. No sure what project you are talking about, but if it's the camera capture one, sure you can fairly easily add a 2nd camera. Although it might be easier to use something like 2 ESPeye camera modules and sync them later. www.espressif.com/en/products/hardware/esp-eye/overview
