I've been skating a CCS complete since like September as a new skater, and it's honestly a great board. The shape feels really comfortable to me, and it's very affordable if you're on a budget. I do have some pressure cracks, but it hasn't affected the way the board handles so I'm not too bothered by them. I've rode my board through wet pavement, stood on it with wet shoes, and it's held up extremely well. Pops great through all of that.

CCS type boards or blanks are a god send for beginners or those who can not spend too much on a set up. My personal experience riding one was great, as a beginner it lasted ages because I wasn't able to do much anyway and now going from one of those to a board from a brand I love I got to learn the difference in quality, how boards get soggy/flimsy/weak over time and how much pop you can lose

@@Kevin_2442 with regards to smaller trucks than board I have skated little less wide on boats before i know there are few who do the same there is youtuber I think called Ben degroes or something he have video about opposite where trucks little wieder than board I think some of theese things may be about preference and skatestyle what you may like and what match your skatestyle more if you will not have exact same truck as wide as board. For me my self I would maybe choose something in middle of range of board sizes that i know is around where I will skate also if I was you and have skated a 8.0 size boars maybe if you conciseness wieder board but was not way to uncomfortable on current size 8 board but just wanted to Tey little wieder then maybe if you like you could start with 8.125 instead of going straight to 8.25 then all still not of difference between trucks and board while you will still Try little wieder board.

For those without markers, get good at crooks, you'll notice grooves in your front truck. You can also pay attention to your nose slide and tailslide marks, if you dont have them, learn noseslides, you can slap into backside noseslides so pretty much available to anyone who can roll.

Used to skate with this lad at Weston skatepark, glad you're giving back to the community Danny. Those decks are now $44.95, with free CCS griptape. and they're using traditional maple (I don't think it's Canadian). I did buy 2 Canadian maple blanks from CCS, which due include griptape, they are $42.95 now ($24.95 when I bought them) This is the same maple utilise for a lot of the big brands honestly, the only difference would be the shape of some to others. If you don't care for the brand then as Danny said it's a good choice, but I will say the price increase is unjustified.

At that price one might as well support your local shop and get their decks which often are around $40. I know one shop uses Generator(advertised it on IG and let me know when looking at the completes in store paired with Thunders). I'm not sure what the others use, I should probably ask next time I visit.

@@user-xm6ro1ep5d Oh yeah, I am all for supporting your local shop, as they create skate communities in your town. Too bad I am mostly interested in longboards and cruisers now and skateshops in my area only have street gear. I just picked up skating again after 10 or so years. I used to skate around on this shitty little Walmart board that my parents got me and I missed skating and I wanted to lose some weight so I got back into it I got a board that was cheap and durable. I have been skating a complete CCS board for a few months now and I’m not really doing many tricks on the board because I am trying to get more comfortable on it but I was 265lbs riding that board at first and I have dropped down to 250lbs and I’m trying to perfect my ollies. So if the board can support me jumping on it, it’s a damn good board! I have no cracks at all and no sketchy noises coming from my wheels, trucks, or deck! I HIGHLY recommend CCS boards for people who are starting out and who are on the heavier side! I will most likely be buying another deck from CCS in the future

Well, your comment was from a year back so I'm sure you already made your decision, but for anyone else with the same question, I would first ask them a question of my own and my answer would vary depending on what they told me. I would ask how sure were they that they wanted to get into skating? Have you already decided you're really into skating and are going to do it as a hobby, or are you unsure if you're not going to like it and may give it up in a week? If you're unsure, go with the $30-$40 board. If you're certain you wanna skate, though? Get you a $100 one. (Providing, of course, your finances allow $100 of expendable income and you can spend the money responsibly). In all my days of buying stuff, specifically 'upgrading' things...(really big into cars and gaming computers)...the only time I really regretted my decision was when I cheaped out and discovered my purchase wasn't as good as I expected it to be. Getting the generic shock and strut kit for $300, being disappointed I didn't drop the $600 for the Eibachs. Buying the $200 1060 graphics card and wishing I had gotten the $400 1080 instead. Just kicking myself and feeling really bad that I didn't get what I hoped for and if I just would have spent a little more money it would have been like I wanted. Half the time I'll just end up ditching the cheapie and getting the 'spensey a few months down the road anyway - and now I'm stuck with the cheapie I can't use and whatever time/money I spent getting it set up or installed or whatever. So cheaping out didn't even save me money - it cost me! So, as a general rule - providing you have the money to do it responsibly (most important part right there!) you will NEVER regret buying the good stuff. But you will kick yourself for buying crap.

Since decks come and go and get wrecked anyway, and I'm a beginner, I got a CCS deck but got better parts instead of the CCS ones, like bones reds, thunders (since your trucks last the longest might as well get good ones) and I got santa cruz slime balls which are 97a at 53 mm because I wanted a slightly softer wheel for the rough asphalt streets. it cost me $153, but should I have just gotten a cheaper $84 CCS complete? Is $153 a lot, average, etc.

Board survival for most of us is about landing tricks, or doing them clean. When you mess up tricks your board takes a beating from being bashed and slammed against the ground, eventually this causes it to split and chip. Snapping boards is mostly because you didnt land bolts. For me flip ins snap boards on rails, and also lip slides for some, but this might be able to be countered by going faster.

Well shit man, you should have told me you like Toy Machine. 😅 I would have thrown in one of those as well 😂 I think a good point to make for a pro on the CCS decks is it is a good price point and for newer skaters or people trying to get back into skating like me they are good for beginners so you can get a feel for the board and get the basics down. Thanks for the love man. Let me know when you set up the last one and I'll see what I can do for you man!

Do you think the cold weather you have been skating in is also a factor? I notice in the winter I get more cracks. I pull my board out of the car in the winter and the summer because it just gets wrecked in there with the temperature changes. 30 days is a good run if you are putting in work. The board looks like it has a nice shape. Work / Skate balance is rough for sure. Just keep pushing and congrats on 3500.

One time I paid like 60 dollars for an Enjoi board and it lost its pop and wore down soooo fast. Was s so depressing considering it was the same price as other reliable boards (Real, Anti Hero, Stereo etc) After that I didn't trust Dwindle wood, I only bought generator, PS Stix or Bareback boards. However, A lot of shop boards get their wood from Dwindle as it's cheapest. In Thailand and the UK I often get the 30 dollar boards from dwindle, or blank boards which are even less (20 dollars) And I think thing is, you pay for what you get! So morale of my story haha; don't fork out 60 for a board unless you know what you're getting first HAHA. Research the best woodshops ( find which brand has been the most reliable for you, in my case anti hero, then find out which shop it was made. Chances are, the other brands from those shops will be good as well! ) And if you wanna get cheap boards, they may not last as long but 2 30 dollar boards may work out better/longer than 1 60 dollar board. And support your local shop! Everyone in my town rides Decade boards. Sorry for the rant hahahaha

Chris Wisniewski I have a CCS deck and wheels, but not trucks and bearings. I can say, the quality of the deck and wheels are actually really good for the price, which I was skeptical of at first. I’d assume the other stuff is pretty good based off of the quality of the deck and wheels.

They are $40 plus $10 shipping plus tax. You can buy a brand name board for $60 with free shipping from them. Powell flight decks are $50. Best deals are BLIND, ELEMENT, Powell and Toy Machine. I love Baker but they don't even make their own wheels or sell completes. The brand's I listed make the best complete boards with their own wheels except Baker. Powell also sells blemished boards for $45. So a $40 CCS with mellow concave is not a budget board anymore. Budget boards need to be $20-$30 with a cheap color stain. It is also no e CCS makes their blanks in all sizes. I got a 7.5x31 deck with Gullwings, and finding this size deck these days is hard. Most decks are 8 inch, but in the 1990s all decks were 7.5. I'm old!
