Boat trailers - I got the opportunity to tour the Venture Trailer manufacturing facility and offices near Baltimore, Maryland where every Venture boat trailer is manufactured and assembled. At their boat trailer manufacturing facility they produce new galvanized boat trailers and new aluminum boat trailers for a wide variety of boats. Venture makes boat trailers for several boat types and sizes from jet ski trailers to jon boat trailers and pontoon boat trailers as well as trailers for boats up to 36 feet long.

Thanks for the great tour Wayne. My 2003 Sea Swirl Striper 1851 sits on a galvanized single axel trailer. It tows great!

Nice video. I did a refurb on my Venture trailer last summer and all the parts were easy to order and arrived when expected. I waited for a late afternoon high tide on a crappy day to launch the boat and park it on the end of the launch dock and replaced the parts in the parking lot.

I have a 30 ft Pursuit that we keep in dry storage. However, this may change in the near future. We will eventually be shopping for a trailer, so your video is perfectly timed. Thanks and great job!

Cool video! I had no idea there is.a trailer company in town. Somehow surprisingly, a local trailer dealer (Dave's in Glen Burnie - great place, by the way) does not appear to stock as many of them as you would think they could, given the proximity to the manufacturing facility. When shopping for my new PWC trailer, the only one they had in stock was from LoadRite (made in Fairless Hills, PA) and this is what I got.

great segment Wayne. Appreciate the walk through. have to decide if i want to get a trailer for my Old Town Discovery Sport 15 or just get a used V bottom Jon Boat and trailer. kind of leaning toward the latter as price for a new trailer is @ 1700 and you can get a pretty good Jon boat, motor and trailer for about the same.. thanks for sharing.

What is a "bunk" trailer and what is a "roller" trailer?

Bunk trailers typically have carpeted boards that the boat slides on and rollers have rubber wheels.

Venture trailers are "price point" trailers. They use the cheapest of everything--from the tires to winches. Do yourself a favor-spend the extra money and buy a trailer that won't require rebuilding piece by piece in 3 years.

I think it also comes down to where we go boating, how often we use our trailer etc. I know several people who have older Venture trailers which have served them well for years. People who keep their boat in a marina only use their trailer 2 to 4 times a year and don't really benefit from what might be considered higher quality/higher cost components.

I think the popularity factor matters a lot because it could explain why one type is available at dealers and another is not, or if some manufacturers stop making galvanized based on sales.
