I actually really like this one. The shoulders are a little wider than they should be, yeah, but I feel like for a play-model of that size it’s excusable. Wherein with the $550 one, it’s a display model and should be totally accurate.

Yeah, with a playset you can kind of forgive proportion issues, especially since it's a mech. I mean, they're never going to be minifigure scale, so proportional inaccuracies are already going to be present. With a £500 DISPLAY set, it NEEDS to look accurate to what it's representing, and it just doesn't. It also has functionality with a separate £45 set, which likely affected the way they designed it. Does the £45 Iron Man figure augment the display at all? Not really, considering that set has its own issues. I kinda disagree with TommyCBricks on this one. Usually I agree with what he says, and he does have some points, but tbh I quite like the look of this set.

I think that at least for me, the reason why this new set is better is because it feels and looks like love and passion was put into it, where as you take a look at the ucs set and you get the feeling someone was forced to make this as a product not a toy. The bigger one feels forced while the new one feels earned.

Honesty I wholeheartedly disagree. I think this model is far superior than the others that came before it. For Lego I think the proportions are really good especially compared to the massive wonky one.

Part o the difference is a $45 set is MUCH more justifiable having weird proportions. For $500 a set should be dang near perfect.

Man, Kull Obsidian would’ve been a perfect big fig to include instead of the outriders (considering the hulkbuster fought him) Edit: it also would’ve been better to get Kull Obsidian since he was only in the sanctum sanctorium set

i think the new hulk buster is still a lot better looking than the ucs one. there are a lot less gaps and the body flows a lot better. in the ucs version, the torso is just one big rectangle, when it's supposed to be more of a trapezoid or triangle shape. not to mention how the shoulders have a massive gap which makes the problem even worse. the $45 one has a lot more tapering outwards and it flows nicely into the shoulder joints.

More brickbuilt detail would mess up the proportions, which you are so obsessed with… 🙄 You can’t pretend that the shoulders being slightly too big is equivalent to having the Arc Reactor on the stomach.

It seems the only reason they decided to make it so stupidly big is to fit the $40 iron man in it, so the proportions were traded off for structural integrity (hence why the torso is so tall and rectangular). I think it would have been way better at half the price with a smaller scale and better proportions because they wouldn't need so much technic structure in the build..

I own a few Hulkbusters but honestly why Lego didn't make it the size of a big fig and let you put an iron man minifig in. There's already a knock-off on Etsy that lets you do just that.

The only one that's truly minifigure scale is the Igor suit from the first Hall of Armor. But with that it'd be next to impossible to have details, so they make them bigger for playscale models.

Better minifigs, scales well with other sets, 500 less bucks and in my opinion much less glaring imperfections I’d say this one’s getting the dub

I still love the original Lego hulk buster from age of ultron. It isn’t at all intricate but for play it’s the best since there aren’t any finicky pieces on it

I actually odn't hate the 550 model. despite all the point you listed for why it should be considered bad, I just can't see them. I genuinly want it, it looks so cool. Seriously, you can not convince me otherwise. I so wish I could get it, I seriously want it

I do think they are getting a lot closer to nailing these for me the newest one has the best torso and shoulders but, the Limbs (mostly the Legs) I feel suffer the most they just get more and more ridiculous the legs on this new one I don’t really like and I feel make the thing look like a giant monkey more than the Hulkbuster I feel If they copied a build similar to the 2020 one I really feel like they would have been doing it a favor the arms I feel need at least another layer to be perfect and really match with the perfect torso

Whenever a new hulkbuster comes out, it’s usually bad. And since they were all kinda bad, it just means it’s difficult for Lego to do. So let’s just appreciate a hulkbuster instead of complain about it

Didn’t you say once that with the Statue of Liberty you weren’t using the real once as reference but instead using the minifigure. Maybe that’s what they are doing here with the hulk busters or better yet what they have been doing. IDK

Gotta say, this aint a problem. Its about time we got an actual GOOD & proper looking hulk buster. This new playset scale one is the best Hulkbuster playsets we've seen yet. Previous renditions have been, (In my opinion) if Im being honest: Awful. Especially the one based on the Avengers Game.

Are bigger sets better? Depends on the set. I think the Speed Champions Aston Martin DB5 is better than the creator expert version is some ways. The Creator Expert Ecto 1 is great, but then so is the Lego Ideas speed champions scale version. It’s not a black and white question. Some big sets are great, some aren’t. Same as some small sets are amazing some aren’t. Another example being the Batman Tumbler. The big version (at least the latest one) is amazing! But I actually prefer the smaller Scarecrow Showdown version! Goes great with my Lamborghini murcielago speed champions MOC!

I honestly like the bigger one more mostly it takes longer to build and has more details( and I need someone for bowser to fight) but then again I’m a minor so my opinion is stupid and wrong
