My wife's doctor gave her Elmiron! She had a scare of temporary blindness when driving! At the time no one seemed to know what caused it. She went to a Neurologist. She even had a MRI of the brain. No one seemed to know what caused it. Now they actually know Elmiron causes blindness! A lot of these medicines just make it worse!

Hey I listen all your video and you talk about multiple sclerosis. I have ms for 8 years now but doctors say I should have been diagnosed sooner. I have urinary urgency but my neurologist didn't give it much value and also " treated me" whit painful exams and tubes in my special place (what is a great way to make someone think that urinary urgency is perfectly normal). I'm new here and I didn't see the other videos on the topic yet, I'm going to do that now. I'm just thankful that someone don't dismiss a complaint!! You are an amazing person that explain everything whit calm and coherency. You make me feel a lot better about myself (and not like a crazy person). You are really great!

I know what you mean, my doctor was also convinced I was too stressed. I asked for something to help me sleep and he put me on Vistaril which is an antihistamine that helps with anxiety and to sedate me. Anywho, I went to a urologist after that and he put on a medication. I start today. I'm also 32. I've had this as long as I can remember.

Hi Doctor! Great video... I came across your video when I was looking at Oxybutynin for hyperhidrosis. I have a really bad hyperhidrosis that gets triggered everytime I do any activity. My face and scalp start sweating profusely and I look tired so quickly. I really need a solution and heard a few good reviews about this medication. Not sure if I should take it though as I have really good bladder control and worry if this might cause problem that I don't have currently.

I was diagnosed with IC nearly 20 years ago. It’s wasn’t a horrible case but it was life and diet altering. Almost three months ago my Biote hormone doctor mentioned Biote Urox+ to me. Sure, I’ll try it. I didn’t expect much as nothing has ever helped. Oh my goodness! Urox+ is awesome! I am back to a normal diet and I only get up once or twice at night to void. I definitely suggest trying this if you have bladder issues, it could help.

I take Solifenacin at night because of the large quantities of water I need to drink for my genetic kidney disease. I was having issues with keeping my bed dry and the constant urge to pee was making it hard to sleep. The dry mouth is annoying, but it's a price I'm happy to pay for better sleep and I noticed a definite difference when I started the medication. The Solifenacin also comes in handy when I need to remove a stent, stents are awful and my poor bladder hates them!

Thank you for sharing this important information. I'm a kidney donor, and I seemed to get worse overtime with the urinary frequency. Currently on PT but not sure if this is helping. Due to high risk of dementia in family I will decline taking any medication for this. The acupuncture sounds like a better route. The Botox sounds great too but knowing that it might not work or that I would need to cath if I cannot urinate its worrisome to me. Seeing my dad at some point doing the cath is a no to me. Your videos are great that you again for sharing Dr Malik. I will subscribe in case i missed something and need to go back and see again.

Dr Malik, Thank you for covering this subject. I'm very familiar with it and the frustration it brings. One of the drawbacks to the meds that I found , in addition to the ones you mentioned is the fact that you can take only one dose per day. Also I found that it's not effective except for about 6 hrs. However about two years ago my urologist started me back up on a consistent preventative antibiotic after a few really bad Infections that couldn't be ignored. However it's not working very well anymore. At my last appointment my urologist mentioned a new study with the use of formaldehyde as a potential treatment option. My doctor knew this was going to happen and still put me on the meds for my over active bladder. She told me to stop it immediately cause my bladder could explode. I went from having an over active bladder to my bladder being too relaxed where i couldn’t pee. Once i got off those pills i went back to normal having my over active bladder.

Took a couple weeks to take effect. There was a week or so where double voiding was necessary to empty the last 300ml. Hopefully these regular Larger volumes held will develop bigger lasting capacity!?!

The ultrasound was repeated a few weeks later and everything was normal (only 25 cc pvr). No other symptoms. @Jibon Sarkar I am good thank you, the urologist said that sometimes when we drink A LOT for the pelvic exam and the bladder is full to the max, it can create a retention effect and in this case it is normal. I did another exam and i drank less, no retention.

I just started Solifenacin today, 10MG. I've never had E.D. in my entire life, it seems my new OAB medication is giving me E.D. is this a typical side effect of generic Vesicare?

@Scofield It did help me, but I'm on a different medication that works just as well without all the side effects. I'm on Tolterodine ER 4MG once a day.

@Scofield Yes, I had a prostate infection/inflammation that has caused OAB. I was only on Solifenacin for about a week. The current medication which i've been on for a month; I pee on average once every 2-3 hours. Prior to medication, I was having to pee every 30 minutes. Occasionally, I can go every 4-5 hours without peeing.

@Scofield It depends, impossible for me to answer. That is a conversation for you and your Urologist. Some response to medication, some need medication their entire life. Some don't want to take a pill for the rest of their life and go the surgical route.

Hi, is it safe to take oxybutynin in my early 20s? I got prescribed 5mg twice a day because I wake up during the night (2-3 times) to go the bathroom. The reason for my question is that I read online that it can do some damage to the brain and increase risk of dementia, so I decided to take 1 pill every few days instead. By the way, I’ve seen a positive impact after I took my first pill, it definitely lowered the frequency. Your advice will be much appreciated, thank you!

Anticholinergics must never be given if you have a pseudocholinesterase deficiency like l do. Doctors need to educate themselves about the useless medications they are prescribing. My doc told me to take as much Pyridium as needed . However, this med is dangerous and affects cell counts.
