When I was in high school we had an assembly on the football field with some cowboy gunslinger actors. The used blanks. The had a little PSA before the show to demonstrate how dangerous blanks are, and they trained to aim the guns so that they never pointed them directly at other actors, but so that you couldn't tell from the audience. They shot an empty soda can from a couple feet away and it was destroyed. Besides, it doesn't matter if it blanks or empty you don't point guns at people who are not actively trying to kill you.

The Police Academy I attended uses blanks in the practical day they put on for each class. The class after mine had a Cadet lose an eye. One of the Actors in the event fired a blank close to the Cadet’s face and caused the injury. Full power blanks can be deadly at close range. They use a different kind now that only uses a primer as the charge. It’s not very impressive, but safer.
@mightymystery92042 жыл бұрын
The point is, some people fire blanks without the bfa, for noise. You see that many blanks are simply crimped and sealed with resin. Some of them, to restrict powder shifting, have a squib at the front. That sealer disc is a projectile and can do severe harm at just a few feet. It becomes a bullet, at deadly speed, before air resistance slows it down.

Modified or special rounds can be used in certain "blank" pistols that can be lethal or non-lethal depending on the modifications and design of ammunition being used.
