Believe it or not the ones at Walmart are skill based. The ones with payout rates can be anything the operator chooses. Not just 15, some go up to 1000

Oh, just checked your profile and it's true, you make bank off of public playing your machines. Well I own a personal claw machine, and I will tell everyone, not all claw machines are the same, so the individual owners can set it to be rigged (I.e. the claw is too weak for the weight of the prizes). Don't let this businessman fool you.

There are many factors that contribute to the claw grip, it is not just payout and skill, if the operator does not know how to properly set up the claw machine, it will always be rigged. So yes, walmart claw machines can be rigged as they aren't all set up by the same person.

@@elysses I know from experience that the ones at Walmart are owned by a corporation called sugarloaf toys and they only use rainbow cranes. If you look up the manual it shows that there is one knob for the strength and admits to being skill based. Skill based means the claw isn’t gonna intentionally drop your prize, it means there’s one set strength for the whole duration of the play

I played a claw machine once when I was a kid, where I swear the toys were stitched together. You could see the toys surrounding the one you were going for, move slightly right before the claw slipped off, when they shouldn't have moved based on how they were resting. Got fully disenchanted with the machines at that point.

@@carterjames8829 Yeah, since it grosses me out to look at a claw machine knowing that the hand is too weak, then I don't even think of trying to waste my money on it, but it would probably seem different if I would be using it, but I prefer not getting used to using it and then gambling on it to try to win a prize and then it would seem satisfying to move the controller to the item

@@CorpseCousin There is a bunch of different types some are outright skill based, others have set pay outs. Some have set pay outs and are packed in a bs way that theyre impossible to win, there is also some where the claw strength decreases after picking things up and is possible to move it closer to the prize hole and tip/bounce it in. I used to work at a big box store that was trying having a claw machine by the check outs. When it came in we had notice in the staff room about it, was set to a pay out of $7 but was the type that would pick things up and drop it on the way to the hole. Managed to win it twice in a row one from pay out other from tipping a prize in

I single-handidly broke a game in the Dutch amusement park Walibi once. It was one of those pick-a-ducky ones where there where a bunch of low numbered ones and only 1 number 100. I walked by and noticed they made a mistake in the setup, namely the waterflow was angled. I took notice and kept track of all the duckies and notified the worker there as it’s a actual fair chance-based minigame IMO. Afther that i saw the 100 flip by, said to the person “Since i notified you of the error i would like 1 pass plz, heres money” and i f’ing joinked top-prize… still have the giant dragon plushie on my closet in my bedroom even afther like 6 years… might even be 8 already sheesh im old…

As a claw machine master theres a payout rate most of them have it at 1/50 but some have 1/20 or anything higher and some claws get stuck and the claw doesn't clamp but jt depends on the claw that your at

The ones that promise to give Apple things are a scam, once there was this KZfaqr that played a game where you have to correctly insert the key for it to fall, and then when the iPad came out, then the owner of the machine came all the way to where he was and kicked him out of the bowling place he was in

Play at the arcade claw machines, not the claw machines in public places like laundry places or grocery stores because those are always owner by individual owners who can set up the machine to be to weak to even grab a prize, resulting in people putting in money and never wining a prize.

There's two types of claw machines, the ones that after you click fall all the way down and grab the stuffed animal or the ones that descend as long as you press the button. The first one is what you could call the one that "scams" you while the second one is the one that with practice you can "scam". The system relies on not only the grip of the claw but also how tight you place the plushies one to another.

My brother is really good at these somehow. He can tell you how many times it will take for him to get the prize of your choice. However if it's a machine that he has never used before he will say that he needs to test the machine first. Apparently he found out that some machines are set to close only partially or at partial strength unless there is a certain amount of income in the machine and while it is possible to get prizes while they're like that if the target amount of money is met while he's adjusting the prizes positions it can throw off the amount of tries needed by 2-3 more.

The class can be tightened and loosened as the owner pleases. They basically let some people win for a day or so then they can just loosen it and take the money in.

The machine owner can set the grip strength of the claw when it picks up the item, when the claw is done retracting, and when it moves over to the prize pit. These strengths will slowly move up over time to make you keep playing and eventually win.

This reminds me, once I tried out a claw machine when I was 11...i almost got a teddy bear, but it dropped off the last moment...and I got a little upset Luckly, the guy owning the machine watched the whole thing, he took out his key, opened the machine and gave me the bear 😊 Seriously he was really wholesome My father wanted to pay him for the bear, but he refused, and let me get the bear as a gift ❤❤

I remember explaining to a friend how claw machines are a scam at a local arcade, when I accidentally hit the button for lifting the prize. The machine roared itself to power, then lifted a football and placed it inside the prize area. Turns out someone from the stuff forgot to rewire it the day before! I took the football and ran like the wind with my friend - did see security coming after us but didn't stop.

When I was eight years old, a bunch of kids were gathered around a claw machine that had small rubber ball toys in animal patterns, and no one had been able to do it. So I walked over, took 4 tries, and 4 dollars to win the ghost ball. We all celebrate. They were strangers. And it wasn't a play to win.

Most of them have tension settings inside the machine for the claw. So if the owner is feeling generous, which they never are. They can either pick up a brick or not pick up a piece of styrofoam.

The pizza place in my hometown had a claw machine. I eventually learned how to position the claw in a way that it would easily lift the toy and I started winning almost every time. After about the third teddy bear they changed the game out for a new one that barely even closes the claw.

How they work is after a claw machine gets a stuffed animal, the next one is weak. It’ll be weak for a lot more tries. Then it will get stronger. But it still can fail during that time, so it’ll keep being strong. You can get it even when it’s weak, but it’ll make the rest weak. The claw machine becomes weak and strong.

Those things usually don't have any strength, so it needs to grab around and under the plushie, when it just grabs it by the sides it'll probably slide off.

Im pretty good at claw machines, you can shake it a lil to align the claw, not the machine but the joystick to operate the claw and ngl it is skill based and usually i do it when i want to impress girls since i can even get two rewards at the same time, but usually i just end up giving away a lot of the toys i win to kids, it makes me smile seeing how appreciative they are for me to randomly give them something for free.

I worked at an arcade/amusement park back in 2004 (SW Florida) and the one machine, when doing basic maintenance on it, I noticed there's two knobs. 1) is for the initial grip. You can make it SUPER strong, and 2) the other knob is for the carry strength from the grabbing of the prize to the chute. So I noticed it was rigged for everyone to lose, so when I quit I cranked both up to max grip and left. When I came back a week later, nearly every prize was gone. Take that ya filthy animals!

I’ve gotten Alex from Minecraft once Pro tip: use a claw machine in the corner, so you can look at the machine forward and from the right to perfectly line up your shot, also go for something that seems to be separate or “popping out” because then the actual claws won’t hit any other toys

You can’t buy it single though. You have to buy it in bulk. So you would have to spend 150-300 just to have that specific plush. And I don’t think you want 50-130 plush. So $8-15 isn’t too bad. You walk into any mall plush store you’re spending $8 on average retail. $15+for license plush.

You got to Scout machines to see if they are able to be run. Lot of owners will put big items in them to lure people in but the their claws aren’t strong enough to hold the weight going up so will drop them.
