There’s something very therapeutic about watching bike stuff being made/ built!! 👍 or is that just me being weird?

Was out of Mt Biking for 20 years....just got my first eBike! Before I even had the bike I bought ENVE M7 wheels with Chris King Hubs. I started riding CK hubs in early 90's....they are simply the best! I only have a couple thousand miles on them but they are flawless!!!

Ooohh I do love a Chris king rear hub service 😍 For what it’s worth ive had a few sets of there hubs/bottom brackets/headsets Worth every penny in my opinion but the comments concerning standards are fair enough, hopefully we are near the optimum now....

Extremely satisfying to watch those king hubs being pampered, I have the full King set up in matte slate on my Bronson AXS reserve - steel bearings in the bb hubs and headset, I’ve just ordered another complete king setup for my 5010 but this time with the ceramic bearing upgrade 👍🏻

I have to admit I've always been hesitant to invest so much in a wheel. There have been so many permutations of different wheel size on my frames since I started riding I can say for sure no wheelset would have lasted anywhere close to a "lifetime". When I have had wheels built to my own spec I have always gone Hope for the hubs and whatever rim was the right size for my ideal tyre widths. If you ride enough gnarly stuff to destroy wheels on a regular basis or you are a big lad then I think you can justify the incredible quality and service from products like this. However, I'm pretty average weight, most of my local trails are more loam than rock and since the 90s I've only ever mullered one rim and one rear hub (and that was ragging a rigid down something it wasn't designed to be ragged down). If I rode every week on rocky shaley surfaces then I'm sure it would be a different story.

Well said, the industry has been too volatile over the past few years for this wheel for life approach. These changes in wheel size and hub size is a joke. It all been about sales, its sad, its an industry that people love and have in their hearts you will ruin that with this aggressive sales shit.

I have a std 1/1\8 Chris king headset that's been on 3 bikes since 2001 and hand on heart the bearings have never needed any attention and the bike it's on no longer gets used and hasn't for two years but it's testimony to the quality.it was £120 at the time but money well spent .

Saddleback are awesome they helped me a lot with my Push shock, I personally find carbon rims too harsh unless you run 28 spokes like Santa Cruz/Race Face which always caused me to snap more spokes, they are fast tho

Great looking kit and great vid as ever. I'd be interested to know what the industry definition of lifetime is in this regard? Could we rock up in 9 or 15 years time with a smashed rim and get a no quibble replacement or will we get turned away a day past 5 years if that's the expected lifetime of the product?

Good video on why components cost so much and what your buying into. I fabricate and CNC architectural aluminium systems so I can relate in a way as to why some may get a shock at the price manufactures are asking but you do get what you pay for! There’s no such thing as cheap and cheerful, buy once cry once.

I bought my enve M60 w I 9 hub from Cambria so I assume I have access to warranty if needed. I also have a enve carbon bar. In Chris King land I've got a dropset 2 and the new carbon wheel with Chris King boost hubs. I just purchased this wheel from a buddy who's never used it but I assume I won't have access to the lifetime rim warranty? It's all on my YETI SB5.

Got a set of rovals on my main bike and a set of Chinese nextie on my hardtail. I personally love carbon wheel but would say they don’t suit everyone (first months ride I was crashing on every corner due to the stiffness), need to be a good level of rider to get the most out of them. The weight difference between them and alloy is not the key factor but stiffness.

I am all for buying a product that cost more if it performs well, and has good warranty, and is easy to work on. I need a new bike built up, So Chris King defensibly is on the list, Unless I find a reason to go for something else. So far I have had good experience with their BB, Headset, but did not use it a lot, and no hard riding, but the difference is huge anyway, Race Face BB is junk, and I kill Enduro & Cane Creek bearings, at least in 2014 fuel ex, I think the headetube might be the issue. cus the wear rate is insane, I think its oversized, uneven or skewed, bad manufacturing. But Fuel EX has integrated headset, the old bike has PressFit. after a month of riding with Chris King headset and bb it was like new, I did not have to tighten anything, not the case with my fuel ex, I had to regularly tighten everything. Each part on my new bike is gonna be picked for durability, performance, reliability, I got most parts so will just swap over them.

Having watched this video, I would be far more inclined to purchase enve products than before, however, given that the santa cruz reserves are also covered by an equally impressive warranty, they are still too costly. I have just purchased a push 11-6 from saddleback and thought that they were great to deal with.
