Honestly the unironed suit kinda goes with Jokers look to me

Pretty good Joker! Morally I'm okay with bootlegs of stuff that can no longer be purchased or were long discontinued. HT isn't losing any money on this and it's easy to forget that back when they started, Hot Toys produced unlicensed figures themselves. Honestly, I buy more 3rd party stuff than Hot Toys nowadays, they no longer make stuff I want since I don't really have interest in Star Wars and Marvel, which is now 90% of what they make. Fortunately we have Threezero, Star Ace, Asmus, Sideshow, and 3rd party companies to pick up the slack.

Good video the Daftoys Bane with M35 is amazing. I do have their version of this Joker on Order as well but just had a look and get your point with the suit material might pick this up instead

It's amazing! Unauthorized is the way to go sometimes. If companies dont want there stuff copied they should make more or lower the price.

Third Party stuff is really good , and it combats the scalping -- i mean if you can get something that looks just as nice for 50% of a Hot Toys --- why not

In my opinion it doesn't matter if it's a real hot toys or not as long as it looks great . The prices on secondary market for HT is a joke and people peddle a figure for over 1000. Bux

I like 3rd party "hottoys" some are actually better especially head sculpted wise. Like I myself have a Joaquin Phoenix joker figure & it's AMAZING! I only got him because I doubt Hottoys will ever make a sixth scale figure of him

Great review. The headsculpt it is a recast from Hot toys one. But when doing the recast the head sculpt came out a bit thinner than the hot toys one. When I reviewed this figure on my channel I compared both heads side by side. You can check it out.

I understand the conundrum that collectors face with this hobby. We want to complete our collections but some pieces were released prior to our collecting. We also don’t want to support bootleggers but sometimes it’s the only way to feasibly complete our collections. I have the ‘89 Batmobile (less than retail from BBTS years ago) but bought it when the 89 Batman was long sold out. Currently, my HT Armory Batman is my only film Batman but I might one day jump the shark and get the 89 Batman and Joker to make it complete. When I got into the hobby, I was able to buy the Bank Robber Joker 2.0 new from Sideshow (my first Hot Toy). While my shirt hasn’t yellowed, that is a realistic fear of cloth based collectibles in general. Around that time, I bought Bane and Catwoman second hand close to retail but they were not perfect. Even my new figures sometime came with small QC issues. My GotG 2 Yondu came brand-new with a loose strap on his harness but nothing else major. I don’t mind unlicensed figures (because some IP owners just don’t want toys made based on their IPs) but I do have a pet peeve about recasted ones. That being said, I agree that paying $500-$700 for an out of print figure is ludicrous. If it’s a figure you truly want and can’t find it within a reasonable price, get the off-brand version. If you can find the piece you want at a somewhat reasonable price, save and buy that version. (Sorry for the lengthy tangent/ response)

Great looking figure. Hot Toys are a little out of my price range but from what I have seen I don't think I would pay out for them because of all of the long term issues the outfits have.

I think that figure looks great. I’d go for it. I have one of the Nolan Batman Hot Toy figures. Not too long after, I came upon a site that sold Hot Toys accessories and they had an Armory that went with my figure. I thought why didn’t Hot Toys think of this? It was really cool not not very pricey so I bought it. There was no official Hot Toys version at the time. About a year later I saw a pre-order for the Hot Toys Armory that looked exactly the same. Lights up, all the weapons, had the Batsuit. So it was the reverse of what you see now. BTW, love the shirt! Where’d you get it?

I don't see these as being "fake" or "not authentic". They are not licensed, that is fact, but some of the major alternative companies actually care to make improvements, or overall better products than licensed ones. Or give more bang for your buck. If they go out of their way to give more value, not just straight up cheaper identical copies, I can respect that. Is that right or wrong? Well up to the individual to decide that. The thing with Hot Toys is that overall they still make the best 1/6 figures, but they do make the occasional dud. Even now.

I don’t care what people say , being a collector means buying figures like these,. Some people don’t understand how expensive being a collector is. Some of us even have a budget on how much we’ll pay. I only own 5 hot toys and I haven’t paid more than 310$ on any of them. Price went up on them but that’s my budget. No lower than 300$

Hi Mark, I'm not a huge DC fan but Joker is my top 3 favourite movies of all time. I was hoping you could answer my question - do you know why there is minimal merch/collectibles from that movie? I see third party companies make figures of the character but even in terms of merch (pops, shirt etc.) there's nothing? Bums me out as I've never purchased a hot toy but would buy a Arthur one in a heartbeat.

3rd Party Transformers is a big scene, so I'm not surprised about this. There was a company was doing 3rd Party Ninja Turtles,and I guess it got shut down. The wrinkles gripe was kinda funny, but I guess some people wanna look good when they rob a bank. These alternatives should lower the price of an official one, hopefully.

In my opinion this Joker look very good.Hot toys make great figures no doubt about it but because of the license that they have to pay the figures are sometime overpriced.

I myself have both Fire Jokers (purple coat+Bank Robber) and I'm currently awaiting their John Wick to be released! I personally think there a great Third party company, not Hot Toys but as you say who's gonna notice! Third party's always a great option for us collector's.. I mean I'm currently awaiting again Toysera Spiderman Dr Oct and Jazzinc's Spiderman Vulture. Now where else are you gonna find them Hot Toys made a Vulture but aren't going to release it and I never thought anyone would take on Dr Oct.. 👍😁

I'd probably be worried about how it'd age. At least with the older Hot Toys you kinda know what to look for. With these who can say what time will do. I do kind of like the idea of buying expansion kits with head sculpts and clothes for figures that were never made. So you're just augmenting rather than duplicating someone else's work.

I just bought an aftermarket fat thor figure and I am impressed by it he comes with some bottles and a game controller. I got it from toyswonderland and they did an amazing job with packaging it along with Shipping it took close to a month and price was about the same as your joker. Overall I would buy another figure from them if something catches my interest.
