"They may keep you awake at night." Yes. I wake up at least 2-3 times a night because someone is going hard on their water bottle. One of my males likes to lift the bottle up, and then let it go and it slams against the cage. He's lucky he's cute lol.

My guinea pigs stay in my room, and their squeaking has turned into my lullaby! 😂😘😘

con: if you get lied to my a distributer, and you end up with 4 boars not sows, make sure you nearly double everything for housing (including hides), as they will start to fight alot more as they grow up. i still love my 4 little pigs, but be ready for anything

I got 2 pigs last month. They used to fit on one palm. Now each takes a palm. Didn't know they grew that fast! Named them Thor and Loki. 💖💖

I have 2 piggies and I fall asleep to them running around and talking. But they know as soon as I turn off the lights they have 10 minutes of play time left. They are quiet most of the night. But mostly, they are ADORABLE

They do learn quickly. One of the first things a Guinea Pig learns is the connection between plastic grocery bags and food. That rustling sound triggers a great deal of wheeking. Sometimes they also learn to associate the sound of running water with bath time. I had a male Coronet piggy who actually loved a warm bath. He would wheek like crazy when he heard me turn on the water tap.

They may look cute but are a ton of work...They poop all the time, they can get cancer, worms, fleas, lumps, crusty eyes, tics and so much more. And you may end up with a chain of guinea pigs!! Since they have to be with at least one other pig, if one dies you’ll feel bad and have to get another one. Not to mention they smell a bit. But either way, they are beautiful creatures that are bundles of fun!! :3

Piggies know they are loved by the delicious food your prepare so if you are a protective "mom-type" who likes to see her kids happily chowing down, this is the pet for you. I am a oversea PHD student at Oxford, I have a guinea pig friend for 3 years. Now I am about to graduate and leave UK. Where do you recommend to send my guinea pig to? He is 3-year-old crested guinea pig, and he had 3 years of free roaming lifestyle in my flat. If I give him out, he probably will be caged for his rest of life... I wonder how to find a reliable breeder for him.

I have 10 guinea pigs and they live outside in a huge shed. For some reason they all got in a big fight. I noticed the smallist guinea pig, Layla has patches of fur ripped out 😢 I have no idea what to do. I have tried to separate them all and then in a mounth or so put them all back in the shed and they won't stop fighting. I don't know what to do

Oh yesss, the vet bills! Three of my piggies have needed surgery. Then one had an ear infection, another an upper respiratory infection, then one had an abscess under his chin that had to be drained AND plus all 12 of them had their yearly physicals!!!

I have two guinea piglets Truffles and Twiglet. They were very nervous when I first got them but now they are so affectionate. Recently I introduced peanut to the family. I kept peanut apart for two weeks gradually introducing him to my two babies. They bonded very well. However I noticed Twiglet was always thirsty and I suspected he might have diabetes. I took him to the vet and he examined him and told me to keep an eye on him. He appeared to be happy enough but then I could see he was alienating himself from the others. I thought he was being targeted by peanut but he developed a caterach and I took him back to the vet who told me he had an eye ulcer and it had burst and surgery to remove the eye was vital. Unfortunately he didn’t survive the operation and I buried him this morning. I noticed Truffles was not himself, I think he was missing his wee friend. So I’ve been giving him extra attention and Peanut too. They are out on my knee and they lick me to death. I keep them in my kitchen with the cage door open when I’m home. I miss my Twiglet so much and wish I could have helped him more. Thank you for your videos I’ve learned so much. My two surviving babies will get my full attention 🐹🐹🐹🐹💕

Sometimes I tell my step dad to give me guinea pigs I'm thinking to get three guinea pigs I'm going to go live to Wisconsin and me my step dad says to get them over there because if I get them here maybe it's going to be a little bit more difficult so I'm probably going to get guinea pigs at Wisconsin and I'm going to live in the apartment so I don't really know how to do this so when I see the whole house I'm going to see how am I going to do the guinea pigs home

I use a really bad depression when I was 12, I asked for a pet of my own to my parnets like a hamster, luckily my parnets are so nice and instead got me a guenia pig and it was the greatest day of my life she is my best friend and I talk to her and it feels like she’s saying ever time when I’m sad she says “How was your day?” “Oh would u like to talk about it” and I share my feeling to her and it’s the best now I’m the happiest person in the world! ❤️❤️❤️

I have had guinea pigs since I was five. I adopt my GPs from a shelter. I have had GPs live up to six years however, when adopting from a shelter and not knowing the age sometimes they lived only three to five years. Yes they are messy. Once you get used to cleaning them up the pros out weight the cons.

They are amazing pets!!!!!! From my personals experience they are not very loud at night, but piggies like to get up around 7 to 9 so just be prepared for some noise at that point.

my guinea pig isnt friends with another pig you would be surprised about what she is friends with....A rat they love eachother like brother and sisterand they live with eachotherand they sleep when the light is off and take naps in the afternoon so i get perfect sleep unless they run out of food or water at night and if i am awake my light is on so she wakes up and starts screaming untill i take her out of her cage along with the rat

I remember having a guinea pig named Cloud when I was young (We had another one too but I forgot their name). We had them for a few years, until one day, we noticed our other guinea pig was being selfish and Cloud wasn't getting enough food. (we think our other guinea pig was selfish but maybe Cloud just wasn't eating enough on purpose because of some symptoms we didn't know about then). A few days later, Cloud starved to death. My family and I were really sad. We also had to put down our other guinea pig in a few months, and we were really sad about that too.

I slept through a hotel fire alarm and when I was woken up I fell back asleep while it was still ringing so...I can handle guinea pig noises pretty well😂. I only ever had one guinea pig, my little Bobby Jack. He died from a serious cold. I cried for two days and I sometimes cry when I think of him. I always blame myself for his death. I shouldn’t have left the window open on a rainy night.

Also I love your videos I am a animal lover and need them by my side. And I think piggies could fill that space

I have a friend that has a guinea pig but obviously didn’t do proper research. He gives them those generic guinea pig mixes and doesn’t give them hay.. and if I remember correctly his piggies doesn’t have a friend.

All my guinea pigs sleep soundly all throughout the night. I've even stayed up super late and noticed with the lights out they are all asleep. My piggies cages are right next to my bed. I can imagine how noisey piggies can be at night though. I've just been very lick and every herd I've had have been deep night sleepers.

Today at a flea market there was a tiny baby guinea pig and me and my mom went to check it out. IT WAS SOOOL CUTE AND FLUFFY. We might get one. Soo cute 💞💖

my piggies are the cutest my second piggy screamed and was so terrified she was even terrified of walking but now she is so wild and my third she was chill still is but if u put your finger near her she.will.bite. you.so.hard I still have a scar because she scratched me and sometimes I don't even realize they scratch me and they used to sleep with me but long story short they were always fighting about who would sleep under the igloo annnnddd so I made another one and running around at 3 in the morning so I moved them to the living room (incredibly close to my room btw) *💗But I Still Love Them With All My Heart💗*

I really want to have a guinea pig again (2 of course). I have the space, but sadly I am away during the weekends quite often with no one to look after them. So no guinea pigs for me :(

I once had a male named Kaiser. He figured out how to escape the cage but always got caught. Once, he got out his cage (successfully) and when I found him, he was under a pile of dirty laundry.

hi! I have 2 guinea-pigs, but I still have a question. My guinea-pig are both 7 years, and they are not that active anymore. They just sit and eat. The doctor already checked them if they where sick, but that was not it. Do they have to be active when they are so old? Do I have to give them more toys? I would love to hear what you think!

Had them as a kid and loved them but never again. You can’t hold them too long as they’ll pee on you and cleaning out their enclosure was a grind. I might feel different about it now than as a 13 year old though.
