$54… I’m in around that much for my 14’ Jon boat, including mods. I added three decks while maintaining seating for 4, so it doubles as a way to get out onto the bay for sunsets with another couple. Much easier sell with the missus. 😂😂

That’s where I purchased my PA14 360. At that time in 2020, they had 1 single Hobie. Until I took it off their hands. Have had zero issues with the kayak in 3 years. Can’t go wrong with a Hobie in my opinion if your finances allow. Actually purchased my power pole from you! Drove home with it sticking out the window of my SmartCar lol

"Hobie Kayaks WORTH IT? " Ish, they are ok, mirage drive is about the only thing they have going for them. The problem with Hobie is they slap a absolutely insane markup on every single thing.

The drive is worth it in and of itself. So saying that is ALL it has going for it is kinda silly. Other than that, it's just a ridiculously well made hull, one of the best rudder systems in the industry, one of the best warranties in the industry and ridiculous comfort and stability.

@@TruckinRoundTv I own a PA and AI, also used to own a old Hobie 16 catamaran so don't make assumptions "my guy". I'm simply speaking from experience from dealing with Hobie in regards to parts.

@@nikushim6665 😒..you get what you pay for if you want cheap go by a lifetime hobie has great customer service hulls are tanks they’ve been in the game forever you dont buy a Mercedes then complain about expensive parts and upgrades “my guy”!

I own a hobie compass and an old town predator pdl. The old town is by far a better built kayak, but I love the lightweight of the compass.

They used to be now that the company changed hands the product quality has taken a shit and the warranty department will not help you after you spend 4K on a PA

Haven't seen any change in quality. Also warranty is fantastic. I got a brand new drive (valued at $950) in less than a week. Warranty goes through preferred dealers. So find a dealer and you are good to go.

I would beg to differ on the customer service statement. I have a PA14 360 and the drive started making a strange noise. With no hesitation, they sent me a brand new drive

The way Hobie has been raising their prices. I wouldn’t be suprised if the PA14 360 msrp starts @ $6k+ in a year or 2.

the passport is similar to the old Hobie Outback. but, it is lacking a few features that it should have. why should you ever not be able to pull in your rudder. and it is still on the same price point as the old Hobie.new prices are an absolute rip-off.other boats are very similar in only half the price.the thing that's keeping it really expensive is the cost of the Mirage Drive. that is as expensive as a small outboard motor

Maybe don't buy a passport then if you don't like the rudder? Get the compass or any of the other models. The passport is supposed to not have all the bells and whistles. It's a baseline kayak that gives you the superior hobie drive. Most people I know who own passports don't fish out of them.

I've been wanting to upgrade my yak and I've been really leaning towards Hobie. My only issue is I currently have no way of transporting a yak without using a roof rack. I doubt any of the Hobie models I'm interested in would be feasible to lift onto a roof of an SUV. 😂

It's doable on the smaller models. I wouldn't with a pro angler. But I've seen it done with the outback

Yeah? Great storage but your product doesn’t hold-up. Don’t buy Hobie. They are unreliable, don’t hold up to use. If you do, you’re at risk of being stranded off shore some place.❤ I’d buy Old Town over a Hobie any day.

The old town peddle drive is inferior to hobie. Don't come at me with the "instant reverse" nonsense. Have fun pulling weeds out of your prop and pulling it out of the water everytime you're in the flats.

25 minute video for a absolutely not. Could have condensed it into a short. Didn't watch cause hobie is nothing but a name and over-priced at that. It's no longer "top of the line" other companies are surpassing it. For the same prices you can buy a good boat. Or a tricked out kayak from another company. Don't give me excuses either. We'll this that and whatever you want to mention. They are no longer the Mercedes of kayaks more like a pinto.

@@aaanglers not trying to offend. But so many keep pushing hobies. Usually they are sponsored by getting a free kayak. But that's the name of the game now with all kayak manufacturers. I would however like to see unbiased review after 6 months of use of the "flagship" kayaks from multiple manufacturers. The upper price range would be interesting. Especially options for outfitting it with extras.

We aren’t sponsored. Hobie is almost impossible to get sponsored by lol. They are legit boats. I will always concede on price, they’re super expensive. I love my kayak. I don’t recommend them to most people though. If I was rich, I’d get other yaks from other brands to compare, but that’s not feasible for me
