Manchester City still look strong and many are surprised that after winning the treble that they're losing a lot of players, when I think that this was the outcome whether they won a treble or not. The reason for that is when you've won so much very soon the hunger to compete won't be there for the players anymore and they've been expected to refresh their squad to make sure that they continue to have players who are hungry to compete and yes you're losing key players but every successful team does that, their squad has to rotate in order to be freshened up, it keeps players fresh on their toes and ready to compete and challenge for trophies. Ilkay Gundogan a key player in that midfield has joined Barcelona, a day later Mateo Kovacic was brought, the likes of Kyle Walker and Aymeric Laporte will leave, they'll sign Josko Gvardiol, Riyad Mahrez and Bernardo Silva could leave Manchester City this summer as well. Assuming more players depart, Manchester City needs a right winger, CB and another central midfielder and they're clearing out the squad but also need to bring in some fresh faces to add to this team. Liverpool have signed some midfielders and have strengthened that squad, they're in a period of transition and could potentially lose both Fabinho and Jordan Henderson in the same transfer window but have addressed their midfield problems and have rebuilt it, Arsenal missed out on the premier league title after being in a strong position to win the league, they've added Jurrien Timber Declan Rice and Kai Havertz to that team this summer, Manchester United are set to sign Andre Onana and they've already signed Mason Mount and they need to cash in on some players to fund for a new striker. At the start of preseason everyone has optimism towards the premier league, new promoted teams, all the teams top and middle strengthening and it's understandable and next season we want an interesting title race, but in midseason when some of the top teams start off well, they'll go in a dip in form then they're competing for a champions league spot, Manchester City hit their peak and go on a 10+ game winning streak hit top form and then at the end of May after 38 games, they're the same team that ends up lifting the trophy every season and even if they lose a lot of players, they're gonna replace them and have a squad of Erling Haaland, Kevin De Bruyne, Jack Grealish, Rodri, Phil Foden, Julian Alvarez, Ruben Dias, John Stones, Ederson, etc and watch Manchester City win their 6th premier league title in 7 years and it shouldn't be a shock next season, because that core of the team, Pep Guardiola utilizes it really well and just finds ways to get the best out of this team, and while we want to see a different winner like Arsenal or Liverpool, next season will be the same story like it's been every year, Manchester City will win the premier league and until I see them struggle I'm never gonna write them off in this league and in this premier league, there are too many title pretenders, whenever a team starts off well, they end up underperforming it's been a lot of them every season, and as soon as Manchester City hits top form, you're not stopping them it's been the case for them in the last 6 years and if all the top teams underperform, watch them run away with another league title which is a scary prospect for premier league fans.

Don't knock it till you try it. Play Fifa for a couple of weeks and tell me how you feel about it then. I play career mode- manager. Pick a team in league 1 or 2 and try to promote them all the way to the prem. There are transfer and wage budgets involved, scouting, transfer windows, ets. As well as playing as my players in all the matches, league, cups, pre-season. Learning new tricks and trying to win more often than lose to stay near top of the league. It's much more fun and far more immersive and addictive than Mario Cart I assure you, Mr former professional footballer Nichol.
