Tbh. This is almost exactly how I celebrate new years.

For the new year me and my pakistani Muslim neighbour made lamb pilau it was amazing, we were going to take our kids to see the fireworks but there wasn’t a good firework display near us this year, she doesn’t think there’s anything wrong with celebrating New Years but we both agreed it isn’t really a big deal to either of us. I was in bed at 7pm same as my kids and woke up at 11:55 because my baby was crying, 5 minutes later I said happy new year to my husband gave him a kiss that was it 😂

I like to be grateful for all the blessings I received in 2022 and I look forward to what 2023 will bring me. I hope everyone has an amazing blessed year. ❤️

Your New Year’s Eve was the same as mine! I woke up late had a coffee took my dogs for a walk then went back to sleep woke up did the countdown and went back to sleep! 😂

Every day is just another day unless its Ramadan or Eid. Every day is mother's day, Alhumdulilah, every day is family day, Alhumdulilah, and every day is a celebration of the life Allah has given us, Alhumdulilah.

Fireworks.. been there, done that, now let me sleep, lol. Actually, Fireworks can be upsetting to animals and veterans with PTSD, so I'm kinda iffy about them in general.

new year already happened for me 21 hours ago but usually My mum makes biriyani or some kind of rice, we cut a new year's cake(sometimes we didn't this year) and we go to the rooftop to see fireworks. This year we didn't do anything special, our cousins usually come :c I only exist for the food..

I from Algeria 🇩🇿, I don't really care for New year but we made some cake and we stayed after dinner to drink chai with cake, my mom also bought some traz (candies and nuts) and she also tried a new fried chicken recipe for dinner cause my aunt and her kids are with us for the week, but that's about it, we slept at 11pm right after we finished eating.

My family follows the opinion that it is Haram, as it is celebrating the Christian calendar. I don't celebrate my birthday, the prophets birthday or anything, just the two Eids.

on new years< we usually feed people who lives in our apartment and fire some fireworks and crackers. that's it and its still very fun. sometimes, our aunt and visits us too

I led tahajjud for New Years and recited Ayatul Kursi, Suratal Hashir, 3 Quls, and darood sharif, and made duaa. 🥰 Someone on twitter gave me the idea! And then I went to bed lol

I slept. I did get out today though and look for some stuff for our birthday board here at the apt bldg I live in. I just started doing it this month the other lady quit. Also I took my neighbor/BFF to lunch and to get ice cream. Came home did some chores and now I am about to go to bed. Happy 2023.

I was actually wondering about this, so I'm happy you made a video about it. I was curious if since the 'New Year' is based on the Gregorian calendar (Christianity, years since Christ's birth) and not the Islamic calendar, that maybe the celebration would not be allowed. But also the Gregorian calendar is used as the standard for everything (business, most government, etc) in the world I really wondered how folks thought about it.

For me I don't really care about New year ,I slept last year and woke this year

We are going to visit my in laws. Not necessarily because of new years, but because the kids are still out of school and wanted to see grandma and grandpa before they went back. Plus the caribbeanfood is a plus ;)

All I did was hang on my room and then when 2023 finally arrived I went to bed. It was nothing spectacular for me.

I basically only watch celebrations from other cities around the world. London and Paris are absolutely amazing

I just played video games with online friends and stayed up longer than I usually would

I'm from Pittsburgh, and we are the unofficial king of firework shows, and girl I feel the same way lol. Fireworks are so boring! Happy New Years!!!

We have in special friends and play card games. Everyone brings food and we enjoy the company. Rarely do we stay up until midnight but do watch fireworks from around the world and are in bed before midnight in our time zone.

I legit forgot it was New Years Eve until like 5:00p. I just stuck a bottle of sparkling cider in the fridge, turned on the ball drop in Times Square, and read fanfiction until midnight when I split said bottle of cider with my brother before bed.

My brother was being annoying almost the whole night, which kinda ruined it. But we watched Thor Love and Thunder, and then we played Nintendo Sports. We put on the ball drop at around 10:45 ish. We also had root beer floats, so it was decent

I was sick on New Year Eve. I prepared 2 salads, served all the meals for my husband and me, but didn't have much of energy , so ended up going to bed before 2 AM. Now I am on antibiotics .

Of course there’s a difference of opinion on watching fireworks. Some scholars believe it is strictly forbidden. Others see no reason not to enjoy these events. Still others say that you can watch but need to cover the ears. Still others say you can watch and hear but you can’t display any enjoyment of it. Then there are religious scholars who claim that the fireworks can be enjoyed but afterward you must make both eye and ear waadu. Specifically water must be poured in one ear until it flows out the other.

Yeah I have to agree, it is boring af. The only best thing about the holidays is the days off but I don’t celebrate Christmas (my family does so I’m dragged into it) or New Years

Even as a non Muslim. New Years, valentine's day, and even mother's day. Are not big deal for us. We should always love our spouses and parents. Not on just one day of the year. And New Years ,meh in bed by 10.

I caught covid so I was isolating for new years. :( Be when it hit 12 am, I scream the chorus to This Year by the Mountain Goats (I am going to make it, through this year, if it kills me) and then went to bed.

I stayed inside my room all night, pulling an all nighter. Then at 12:03 my friend called me and said, “Go out and celebrate the New Year!” Then I went, “Ha, no. Frohe neues Jahr (happy new year’s) and then hung up when they told me they might be high on homemade raspberry snow cones.

For new years my boyfriend and I went to a friend's house and we hung out and all got drunk XD

Never really have seen the point of it, now with a family and a farm early up and early to bed.

I have my own New Year Holiday (Rosh Hashanah) so most of the time I just sleep through the secular new year 💀🤣🤣

I didn't really do anything to fun I didn't make it till midnight usually I stay up late cuz I go into work and I work later hours it's funny the one night I'm supposed to stay up till midnight my body says no you're going to sleep LOL I watched a couple of episodes of The Red Green show when do the stockyards and had some barbecue met with a couple of friends and that's about it during the day and I agree with you guys about the fireworks they're cool but after you see them for a while it gets pretty old pretty fast on Independence Day I don't watch the fireworks but I do read the declaration of Independence and it doesn't feel like 2023 to me it's still feels about the same and this is coming from a guy who moved out 4 weeks ago so I don't know I just hope and pray for all of us it's a good year cuz 2022 is pretty crazy whatever is next is in God's hands I wish you all blessings joy peace love and happiness and I hope you all have a Happy New Year

I had a Turkish breakfast right after waking up in the morning of 2023 and still everything was the same.

Kids, husband and I where very boring sat at home said wahoooo good night hahahaha

I went to bed at 9, woke up to fireworks happening a few houses down, murmured something about the New Year, and went back to bed. 😂

Bro- 😭 we went to see the fireworks but then there was a rush but then there were nothing but bakalas my dad thought they were food stalls decorated fancy so we left LOL

I used to go out to have fun and celebrate but mainly because it is also my anniversary. Now, we just stay in. It is too stressful trying to go out and make it home with all of the drunk drivers on the road. I don't see any reason you may not be able to celebrate New Years, it isn't a religious holiday after all.

Well... If you don't enjoy fireworks then better don't come to Valencia (as a region) in any local festivity of any city or town. I think most festivities are just an excuse for us to see some fireworks. Also we fire "arcabuces" and a lot of different firecrackers and so to celebrate. It's not a good local festivity without something exploding. I don't enjoy it though 😅😂

I absolutely love fireworks. Love the beautiful colors exploding in the air but not the biggest fan of the air pollution left behind. I stayed at home with my three cats. They got upset from all the idiots shooting their guns off
