Oh Lord, I am feeling it. My mama worked in Sweat Shops when I was growing up, 40 years ago. She would worked hard to become proficient on a piece, in an attempt to sew more pieces a day, and earn more (typically 10 cents a piece, as I recall). I recall her coming hime crying, once, when the factory reduced the per piece rate for a brand that I will keep nameless, preventing causing her to work harder for less money. I was lucky enough to hear this live in Boston's Symphony Hall. Like being struck literally with a heavy stick. (The whole show was phenomenal -- a good friend called it a "religious experience." Not bad for an atheist.)
