Nope. Not just you. Ever since Chapter 2, I've kinda cared less about getting the "enlightened" styles. They are just too much grind for little creativity (in the styles)

Even though i think some kind of "enlightened" styles should be in the game, i think they should be fairly simple, something like "deal x amount of damage", that still wouldn't take away from the game nor be grindy, but something that you could do while playing normally. And yes, i think progressive styles should come back, but the new system makes the old way of progressive skins work weirdly. But the amount of xp needed for the styles could be cranked up to eleven and then be able to do them on future seasons.

I wish they added an accessory or something like that with these. Like with Raz, he has that mask on his waist. I think if we got to level 120 or something we could've gotten an edit style with that mask on.

They should just return to the overtime challenges. Those edit styles were a lot better and actually worth farming instead of the crap enlightened edit styles that we have now.

In my opinion, they should just make it so that you can continue to unlock these edit styles just like in Chapter, it’s not like you wouldn’t have to grind just as much, you just have a longer of period of time to do it. I don’t know why they don’t do this

I was like that at first. I did every single challenge the game ever had, I made sure I never missed a thing. Season 2 of this (boring/garbage) chapter I stopped caring cause I was not going to play 24/7 for an ugly gold banana that I will never use. I tried getting skye fully gold but I didn’t and that’s when I stopped caring about unlocking everything. I didn’t do a single rocket league challenge and once I hit tier 100 I stop playing because I don’t care about the other edit styles. In season 4 of chapter one I got omega with all the lights because the game was generally fun, I didn’t feel like I was forced to unlock his edit styles since I actually loved playing the game

They get really repetitive and I stopped caring after I got holo Wolverine. I barely made it passed 100 this season too. It's like, another gold or silver only style, ok.

Only Raz, Tarana, and Spire Assassin got it because they’re the most related to the story. The chromium styles were confirmed to be based off the spire. That’s why for example Cluck didn’t get them.

The C2S5 edit styles were lazy, the crystal styles only applied to the one edit style of the skin. It doesn't matter with Mancake or Kondor, but it does with Mave and Menace. It was really disappointing to see that you're stuck with the 3rd edit style of Mave and the 1st edit style of Menace. However, this is semi fixed in S6. You can change edit styles while having the post 100 styles as well with Tarana.You're stuck with the Runic Master Raz style with the post 100 styles though. Disappointing that you can't have regular Raz with the other styles on.

@@nicholasrodriguez9 Fair enough, but my point still stands with the crystal styles being applied in season 5. I've look at the styles again and you're stuck with mancake's 1st edit style which doesn't have the hat or mustache. The only redeeming this about the crystal styles is that it applies to Kondor's built in emote and Mave's reactivate styles.

In chapter 2 season 1, the corrupted style for scratch actually felt like it was worth grinding for. Ever since then epic has become lazy with the styles.

In all honesty I thought this season was really easy to level up 🤔 Only annoying thing about it are the Rare quest because you only find out you are making progress when u have nearly done it and you only find out its a quest in the 1st place by just randomly doing it or searching up a video a few weeks into the season.

You shouldn’t have to go above level 200 because people who don’t buy tiers can’t get above level 200 unless they fully sweat the game. ITF is kinda ignoring the fact that he usually buys 100 tiers which helps get him to level 200+ before the end of the season.

I personally believe they are worth it. I got the post 100 edit styles for every season since season 3, and I believe this season's edit style was the best so far.

Personally, I would’ve been very upset if I missed out on the Golden Spire Assassin style because it is literally my favorite skin in the game. I’ll continue to use it as one of my main skins too, because of the style.

I totally agree with you and also, they need to give this styles to the matching skin's back bling because it is hard to find a back bling that matches with the skin. An example of this is the holo foils with the marvel skins and the only one that has this is Thor and even then you don't notice it because the holo foil bit is not on the outside of the cape but the interior.

@@bobcooper5126 because they're the quickest way to grind xp if you already finished all your challenges. they're very easy so you should be able to get 4.4 to 6.6k every game from them.

The level edit styles are way to flex how much you grind the game. They are good thing because they used to be banners for flexing your level and nobody cares about those. Now ypu get to show off how much you love and put time into this game with these edit styles. I think fortnite not making them too crazy is a great idea so people dont waste their life time most of it to get some edit styles. But at same time they are perfect for flexing your time played. Im happy with them and i hope they never make level based styles way too crazy, then i will get sad for missing out on them and i dont want to spend my whole life just to get some styles. I completely agree with you on what you are saying. I didn't play most of the season until the the primal shotgun got nerfed and then I was behind on challenges and the season was gonna end and yeah I was in fear of being left out, so yeah you are right they need to make the post progression worth while and fun

I Talk, I actually believe you're wrong. Ever since I chose the Shadow variants in Season 2, I was extremely devastated. Some people who are huge fans of the Ghost and Shadow storyline like myself really do contemplate on why we chose the variants that we did. Edit: Also, the Ghost and Shadow skins are one of the few that upset the community for several seasons to come.

That season shop idea is actually pretty genius like i would love if they did some exclusive stuff after you reach a certain level it could be edit styles emotes or even brand new skins !!!and the biggest problem i have with these edit styles is the fact that its only on the skins and it doesnt affect the pickaxes/backblings/gliders

In chapter 2 season 5, I tried so hard getting to 225 to get all styles (same this season) but you can not really get that high without buying the first 100 tiers. I had also done all of the challenges and not gotten all of the styles so hopefully epic fixes that next season

I remember grinding to get the Marvel holo edit styles 'cause I actually use the Mystique skin in that edit style over any of her other styles. Usually for me, it depends on what the extra edit styles are whether or not I grind to get them or not. I know on this season, I was doing every challenge so I did end up getting the edit styles, but I'm never going to use them. For me, I hardly use Battle Pass skins with the exception of a couple & I hardly use edit styles on them unless I really like them (IE Meowscles & Kit have good edit styles even though I wish they had given us both Shadow & Ghost edit styles for Meowscles that season instead of having to choose just one).

These seem harder to get every season despite season 1 and 2, those were almost impossible even though they were the longest seasons so far this chapter and in the game period

As a person who always likes a challenge/challenges, especially when there aren’t anymore to do. These edit styles keep me playing it the game. However, some of the post level 100 edit styles were ridiculous. I don’t have all the time in the world to do things all the time on Fortnite. I’m pretty sure everyone else has that same sentiment.

The only style I regret not grinding for is Omega. I think he counts as a post 100. It was during a time where I wasn’t playing Fortnite as my main game. Kinda ruined the skin for me without getting everything.

His season is the one where I felt that I didn't even have to find as much to get these which is probably the right amount. I literally stopped playing and there still were weekly missions, also the theme of the edit styles felt it made the most sense this season, IDK plus I only grind until the skin that I care about which this time happened to be Spire Assassin, sooooo yeah..

Something i think would be better is that when you complete the battle pass, you get challenges for the styles like playing a certain number of matches with the skin or elims with the skin, and the more you get, the higher styles you earn

You hit the nail. They make us grind hidden quests cause those give the most XP. That makes for bad lobbies cause many join and leave once they've done the quests. This extras should be linked with placing top 10 X amount of times in solos, duos... or even have some special ones to reaching like 3000 arena points. That way people would play the game as it's intended instead of doing silly fetch quests.

Keep in mind that to get a chance at golden peely, you HAD to buy all the tiers in the bp because my friend grinded to whole bp non stop without buying tiers and got to what 280/283ish it was that bad

I had this mindset until Chapter 2 Season 5 in which I gave up. Chapter 2 Season 1 - Chapter 2 Season 4 I grinded every single post Level 100 edit style until I realised I was wasting my time for edit styles I would probably never used.

The more recent ones ie season 4-6 if their backblings also got a matching style I would be more on board. Also miss they haven't revisited the high level banners/icons for seasons I like using them for most of my outfits.

Right now I’m at tier 188 and I’ve unlocked a lot of the edit styles for the skins but I can’t even remember the last time I used one of those edit styles or even if I’ve used them at all. I think it’s just like you said it’s all about FOMO. Fortnite is trying to make it so that after tier 100 we get to all those edit styles it gives us a reason to keep grinding the battle pass so we don’t miss out, but honestly I don’t care for the edit styles we’ve gotten from the past seasons cause I never use them.

I’m already used to grinding xp like crazy when the season first starts and in 3 weeks I’m already 225 without buying tiers just pure xp grind like 8+ hours a day and then the rest of the season I don’t have to worry about

Yeah in chapter 2 season 3 I had Fear of Missing Out and I grinded for Gold Peely. I have never played so much Fortnite in one season and as a result I left Fortnite for a while. I played so many games that after the season every game and everything in Fortnite felt the same so I quit the game of boredom.

I think its way better than how it was before with the grindy styles that were actually a big difference like omega armor or the season x knight armor or female drift stages, either way i think the grind should carry across seasons. I think the best way to have a grind flex AND not have it be super fomo-ey is to have skins you can only buy if you reach a certain edit style that just dont come out for everyone until 2 season after, so you can have the exclusivity for a while and still let other people get them

I’m honestly tired of getting a gold style for BP skins as rewards past level 100. Simply covering a character in all gold is just not that interesting, after it has been done for 5 seasons now. The Holo foils in S4 and the Runic styles we got this season were honestly pretty refreshing and are the better styles.

I only went to Runic tier this season. I would've like to get the Gold tier styles, but I knew I wasn't gonna make it towards the end (as of writing this, I'm 3 levels away from getting Runic Spire Assasin, and there's only 1 day left). While the challenges & missions gave a decent amount of XP, it comes to a point where you simply gotta grind & grind for the last edit styles. The FOMO does hit hard, but some people just don't got the patience to grind to hell & back. Heck, the lack of XP Coins made getting to even Runic tier this Season pretty hard.

I agree. I made it to level 200 this season, and then realized I needed to get to 225 for all the styles. I said to heck with that and won't play again until the new season starts tomorrow.

When I played fortnite in chapter 2 season 2 I was super into the golden agent skins I would spend hours of my allowed playtime doing chest loot paths and everything and then it came down to the last day of the season and I was just like two or three games more of doing the chest loot path to unlocking golden peely and fully unlocking golden skye but sadly the servers went down and now I’m stuck with a fully golden skye with only the bottom of the feet still not golden. From that day on I never tried to grind for a tier 100 + skin.

The only one of these styles I still use is the corrupted style for Scratch, I got to the one where he has one of his feet uncovered by the corruption. I gave him the nickname “Achilles Heel” Other than him yeah I don’t use any of the others after their respective season

I've gotten all of the styles this season except gold Spire Assassin as I'm 10 levels away from her. I'd say it's only worth it if you like the skins, and the season is enjoyable enough to play while grinding. Sadly this one wasn't so much. Same with C2S4 as I missed all of the holofoils and gold foil Iron Man.

To finish 8ball vs scratch you had to get to 350 to finish him and since most people found out later in the season, most didn't even log in mid season to get the daily punchcards done so 350 was just out of reach

I managed to level up super fast back in chapter 2 season 8 and got all the super styles within 2-3 weeks of the season being out, because of all the xp they gave out since the challenges were broken. And I would say that besides Charlotte’s (which I’m still mad that they didn’t use her enchanted style) I would say that they were worth it because I loved using every skin from the pass and all the runic colors look great, especially the purple.

I hope they start doing these styles based on XP like they did in Chapter 1 Season 5 with Ragnarok and Drift so that you can work on the styles in later seasons if you dont get them done in the season they released in.
