New Minecraft Snapshot W2049A for the new Minecraft 1.17 Update has just released, and it includes a New minecraft redstone component! The Sculk Sensor allows you to create wireless redstone by detecting vibrations. There is also now Sculk Frequency which allows you to detect what is creating the sound and give a specific redstone signal strength depending on what it was! It allows for a tonne of new redstone contraptions, and bunch of new technical minecraft possibilities! In this video Mumbo experiments with sculk sensors, and creates a bunch of interesting redstone contraptions!

@@Bradon_Ray you make a bubble chamber thing and throw an ended pearl in it, and it should start bouncing so when a block is above the enter pearl water block the pearl bumps into that block and teleports you (or at least that’s what I think)

@@MotherMorrowind that won't detect any player tho it justs immediately goes up a better idea would be if it has a piston floor that switches between soul sand and normal floor it would be activated when a player steps in the base and I think it shoudl be togglabe so when you move in your own home you don't get teleported to the stasis chamber.

The frequency strength is perfect for Simon says minigame- Randomizer picks a random command, for example "Simon says jump!", which then makes a redstone circuit turn on that only activates to jump frequency, and if you jump in time then next round

@@Person-lk1vs Well, we saw in the video that whether it makes a noise the player can hear doesn't matter; it'll still trigger the Sculk Sensor. Although trees don't trigger them at all, sadly.

Hey Mumbo, I was messing around with the new snapshot the other day and attempted to make a trap where if you stopped on my flowers in front of my house, you would fall to your death. I used wool for my pathway so it wouldn’t be detected it you were polite, but if you decided to be rude you would die. I couldn’t get it to work and I think it would be really cool if you were to try it from an experienced redstoner’s knowledge!

@@eveporter570 i havent played on the snapshot at all, but my idea of isolating signals would be to make a layer of wool around the entire redstone contraption leaving a gap only for the blocks you want to move. Then cover it in dirt or whatever terrain your in. Theoretically it would then only pick up signals from the intended blocks because the wool would then mute the other blocks? You could then make the path out of anything you wanted. Im wondering about making a path that you can walk on, but if you take a step off the blocks open and you fall...like a path that is literally surrounded by one giant trap door spanning 2-3 blocks wide so there is no escape.

Seems like observer is still the best option for sensing block updates in a specified tile though right? With skulk sensors there could be interference from nearby movements/players/mobs, right? Or am I misunderstanding it? Seems like with observers it’s easier to control and get well defined behavior for things like sugarcane and pumpkin farms at least. If I want a skulk sensor to make a piston push a pumpkin that has just grown, when the piston moves won’t the skulk sensor fire again and start an infinite feedback loop due to the piston noise? I’m hype for these new skulk sensors, but I don’t imagine I’ll be using them in place of observers, but rather in ways that suite their unique abilities.

@@profien7895 Well considering the warden does 6 hearts of damage when you’re in full netherite, I’d say it’s pretty endgame. Obviously you could access it at anytime but it’s not really practical

@@RylanForever well I'd suggest there's a way you can defeat a warden easily. Like you can defeat a wither easily, endermen easily, illager beasts and stuff. The problem is that they're a single mob, which will always be relatively easy to defeat.

Trap chests are marked, they have a reddish tint, so i guess the avid player may notice that, and the fact that its not a double chest

The old proximity sensor was extremely op imo. You could build it in a random spot between two bases very far apart, and have it detect players flying on elytra. Then have it connected to an anti-air artillery with minecarts or explosion powered arrows and boom. A fully automatic air defense system.

i feel like sculk frequencies should also be tuned for when you have a signal strength going IN to the sculk sensor. Like if it has a signal strength of 1 going in to it, it'll only activate if a sound is created of that sculk frequency. that way sounds wont have the issue where they overlap and it doesnt detect certain movements

These sculk sensors actually have so much potential. You could do so much with them and many things like movement codes and such would be so interesting as you could specialize the movement code so far down to the point of it being impossible to guess
