DX plastic from Innova was completely lost in my mind until a viewer said I HAD to try the DX Thunderbird. Picked up 4 others, got a free disc with it, and made this video. If you stayed through the field shots you're a real one.

One of the nice things that Innova has done over most other companies is kept making faster discs in baseline runs. There's something really nice about being able to just have multiples of the same mold differently seasoned for different shots, and being able to replace a disc for only $8. Discraft for example has Jawbreaker, which is the closest thing to Pro-D/DX they make faster discs in now, but it cost as much as a Z or ESP disc. A Jawbreaker Raptor is $19 where as a DX Firebird is only $9.

Jawbreaker zones just feel so nice. They beat in fast, but it’s such good feeling plastic!

Innova does make the Stud in XT plastic, which is about as grippy as it gets for them. I have one in XT and another in Star. I have bagged them both over time and I think it's an underrated approach disc. The Manta is more stable than it's numbers and is decently torque resistant and aerodynamic. I bag this disc currently and have an ace with it. I use it for forehands because I can get good distance with it despite my noodle arm. I have a couple friends who threw DX Wraiths a few months after starting out, after making decent progress, and it was a bomber disc for them.

I don’t know if I’ve ever held XT plastic either 😅 Wraith might be gifted to a friend that I think would love it.

I’ve been playing with DX F2 discs all winter. The wraiths I got are more flippy than the mamba I got. My favorite disc I have tried in DX is a Firebird. When it gets beat up a little bit they make awesome turn over discs.

I feel like that thunderbird would be a good turnover disc too. Wraith might be a good roller!

Flippy James ,try the Stud in XT plastic , very grippy and easy to throw when damp . If if comes with a little shine on it , the shine will wear off quickly. You want something for easy turnovers try the XT Colt.

I liked the dx colt when I threw it. I think that’s why I say colt so many times instead of stud in this video hah

My DX wraith is as flippy as my VIP Hatchet, but it likes to fight back better. Is that a DX manta? The DX mantas I’ve got were super flippy. That Teebird seems beefy for a DX. But the thunderbird and wraith are just what I expected. There is a bit of inconsistency from disc to disc within the same mold. Love the DX video!

The manta is DX, the Teebird was thrown on hyzer most shots. I thought the wraith would have more fight in it! Glad you enjoyed it!
