Hi I’m Rick Shiels, welcome to my channel RickShielsPGAGolf. This KZfaq channel is designed to help you play better golf, also to help you enjoy your golf more!
I specialise in golf club reviews, golf club unboxing, golf club news, golf club head to heads, and all about golf clubs.
I also want to make you play better golf by providing coaching video on all topics about golf, how to fix your slice, fix your hook, help you drive the golf ball longer, hit your irons more pure, hit your irons closer to the hole and help you draw and fade your golf shots.
I will also help you lower your score by chipping better by stopping you duff and thin chips, pitch the ball closer and also create backspin. Also I will provide you help to putt better and hole more putts!
On this channel I also make fun and entertaining golf content based on crazy and sometimes “gimmicky” golf clubs. I like to cut through the marketing hype about products and I like to give you the honest truth about golf equipment.

They should shoot for $800-900 range, so a little more than the $500 (Takomo/Ram/Kirkland) sets but $4-600 less than the TaylorMade/Calloway, Mizuno, and Ping. I think only a few hundred dollars less isn't enough to gamble on these direct to consumer irons. They look great though.

Hey Jason, we appreciate your thoughts on this. Similar to our golf balls, our primary objective was to release a range of clubs that can compete with the best out there. We know that these irons are producing as good (better in some cases...) numbers as the traditional brands you noted - we are in this really exciting time where the more independent reviews that are published, the more it will become evident that we have a really really high performing product! It's also worth noting, that the pricing of clubs is heavily driven by not only the physical product/R&D, but also the incredibly lengthy logistical operation behind any club manufacture. There is a huge segment of the golf club market who drive down their prices by cutting every single corner there is throughout their operation. Of course, the price is important to consumers, but we have no intention to compromise in quality at any stage of our operation. The best example I can share of this; we've taken on the workload to custom build everything in Germany. Why? It ensures the product we ship is of the highest quality. Thanks again for your thoughts here!

Unless they are just fine with selling a very small amount of these clubs, they are going to have to seriously lower the price. $600 should be the max for these. At $1200 only the most hardcore Vice fanboys with that kind of money are going to buy these. Cant imagine there are a lot of those people out there.

HOWEVER, I always consider resale value for any large purchase, which golf equipment is. My honest view... I don't believe any company has the right to charge premium club prices when brand new into the market,$1100 isn't particularly cheaper, especially not considering who these irons are aimed at. Surely higher prices come with heritage, and a proven track record. I think they look nice but I wouldn't pick these over a company that have been at it for years. Not at all...

Hey Cameron, you've raised a totally valid point here. What we know and love about the golf world, is that golfers always demand high performing equipment to aid their game. The more we see independent reviews of our clubs, like Rick's here, it will become evident that our products are as high performing as any others out there. Also, included in our pricing is a complete custom build and customisation options (which is only going to grow)

Pricing is fair if you consider that VICE is not a new company at all. Yes they are new to the club market game but lets be honest when buying a new set of irons at minimum you are looking to spend anywhere from 1200 to 2000. If you are expecting lower than you are looking at the prior years models or used sets. If you were to customize a set of Titleist or any other brand the price jumps closer to 2000. VICE also knows that their devoted following will jump all over these.

31 degree 7 iron and 46 degree pitching wedge, how big is the loft gaps between the short irons???
@justinstephenson9360
@justinstephenson9360 10 күн бұрын
5 degrees between 7i & 8i, and same between 8i & 9i, 9i & PW. Shorter gaps between longer irons so 6i is 27 degrees, 5i 24 degrees and 4i 21 degrees. IMO the loft gaps in the higher irons are too large I would prefer 3.5-4 degrees between 7i-8i, 8i-9i, 9i-PW

£1100 isnt really 'cheap' i just had a set of Taylormade p790 fitted for £1220 so i cant see why anoyone would have the vice set over another irons?

I can only give you my reasons why i choose these clubs. : 1. I dont want to play material, what everyone is playing. 2. I 💯% trust the HIO / Vice fitting/making quality , you can See it in every Detail from the Clubs 3. Massive good ball striking with these, i would recommend To buy one 7 Iron and then you will See ;)

Let’s see what the future will bring to the market. There are lots of good clubs available. So why should people move to Vice…? Unless they are extremely good to play or have an unbeatable price tag , it will be tough to earn a good piece of market share. 😊😊😊🇩🇪

There are some great options, but NONE that have been specifically developed to aid the game of the 'normal' golfer - not the tour pro who is paid to use their clubs anyway. We've used millions of sets of data from real amateur fitting sessions, with equipment from all other OEMs. Theres so much we have done to our irons to help normal people get better at golf!

I agree with @davidstanton: how you can say kind as in pleasant rather than kind as in “industry” with a k at the front, is baffling me. Surely you have continental colleagues that can help you out with that? I like your enthousiasme for the clubs, though. I’m one to try new things, so would include these in a fitting if they were there, but direct to customer means you could still take a big hit on your wallet. I hope enough players give them a chance, so that they might be at the local shop at some point. Keep up the good work Rick. Wanna try the new Slazenger clubs for a laugh?
