I had to laugh. When you went to pick up your child, all I could think about, most women take the family van. But the beautiful Dauminique takes the dump truck. When I was a kid, I would have strutted as I walked to the huge dump truck. The next day, I would have been king. Keep trucking.

When you put the plywood back on your tailgate, get a box of fender washers for the self tapping screws that you attach it with. They will spread the load of the screw head so they don't pull through like plain screws did. Ohhh, I just saw that Mark Clark made the same suggestion. 😉

Dauminique, you are a very classy lady with tremendous courage and stellar values. I respect what you do and never make a disparaging comment about you or your profession. If you hear those comments, I would tell them to “piss off”, but I know you are too much of a lady to say that, so chuckle under your breath and move on ignoring them. You and family stay and I hope that your truck is back on the road soon, from the 82 year old retired pharmacist.❤

When you re-attach the plywood make sure you use some fender washers with the screw. The problem with just using screws is that they pull through too easily. Fender washers are 2" wide with a 1/4" hole in the center. Someone in the dealership probably threw that on, as it is not the way to attach something like that. Hope that helps!

Also, steel bolts don"t get along with aluminum, so try to obtain stainless steel bolts or screws. Stops corrosion between the bolt threads which makes replacement of the next plywood easier to do. Keep the videos coming!

..... I have no experience with dump boxes .... whomever installed that plywood forgot the washers to spread the load .. doubt that it was the asphalt chunks were the cause of the plywood to come off, maybe the final straw, would imagine that it was the natural moisture build-up around the screws that caused the plywood to deteriorate and let the screws pull through .. to go one step farther you cold use flat bar vertically to put the screws through .... good to hear that bureaucrats are reducing the red tape .... thx for the

Where you are a woman-owned business you should check out Federally funded paving projects. Large paving projects that are federally funded encourage hiring women-owned companies. You can make some good money, and hot top would be a lot gentler on that aluminum body. This one move in itself could very likely help you establish growing your company. How do I know? I once worked for 4 years for a female-owned company. A lot of roads will get paved under the latest infrastructure bill passing. Wishing you the best of luck, and hope this helps!

Get some construction adhesive from the home improvement center. Some call it PL 400. It goes into a calking gun. Put a small bead in all 4 corners & in the center. You will have to scrape the plywood off to replace it, but it’ll stay put.

I’m thinking about getting a gas powered 14 yard Dunp truck maybe military 10 wheeler to haul my scrap iron 20.000 to 30.000 cap, if I can find one ☝️ or a dump bed in good shape to put on my military 10 wheel all wheel drive I have now , I don’t need a full time dump truck , just ever so often , and if I needed to haul so construction materials I can, lol. I might to say fender washers to put the plywood back on you should replace the plywood with conveyor belting , you are in the plants all around hauling the materials, and I would bet you could get links of it just saws all the screws off no problem at all you don’t need to care about just grind or saw them off hard plastic mud flaps would work good too , it’s all in the day of Dauminique the dump truck driver, thanks beautiful, good job BigAl California.

I worked a gravel plant and where the rocks and gravel dropped into the plant had neoprene and over many years being there still looked new. Just a thought. Ohh almost forgot he had-’em on semi dumps and his dump trucks. Wood I’m sure is cheaper. Plywood not chipboard. I’m sure you realize that. Keep On Trucking and dumping.

When I was 22 I had a job as l master at a rock quarry. Trucks, (double bottoms), were being loaded for a nuclear power plant. Moisture content being important, boss let drivers pour water on loads.... before the scale.....bringing mud onto the scale. 1970s deck was wood cross w/perpendicular tire boards. 32 tks coming thru every 2 to 3 hours, I could not get out often enough to shovel mud away. Two miles from scale to hwy, and the state commercial cop sat out by gate weighing tks. Oh, yea. Two miles of pit rd. H2o drained out of tks. Load now lite. So state visited me! Boss, salesman, and myself worked in the office. Two out of three gone. Me 22 y/o, "in charge", shut downscale. No way to call boss in 1970, I got the ticket! Contract trucking Co. called their boss, sent trucks home. My boss showed up late afternoon for the news. The state came back, I had shoveled the scale, zeroed scale and my bossed sweet-talked to open scale, trucks were to wet load after weighing, whew, next day went back to loading blue granite for nuclear plant! Lessons learned. We had to constantly monitor the L.A. Rattler test also. Lab test for breakage after secondary crusher, stockpile, loaded truck, then at Jobsite.
