Jason and Brooke, you are two amazing people. You do have plenty on your plates right now--but once the houses are up and under control you will slip comfortably into other aspects of Cog Hill 40. The flower farm will happen at the exact right time! How is the cool truck coming along? I think your ideas for flower garden whimsy are perfect for your farm. Have you thought about putting large (empty) picture frames in among the flowers so that it could look like a flower art gallery? You are doing great!!! Love from Canada! ❤️🎶🇨🇦💐

Hi from South Carolina. I tried hand feeding a baby squirrel that my dog found. It lived for several days & I even gave it CPR when it stopped breathing, to no avail. I later found out that they can develop pneumonia very easily. I did however, enjoy caring for it. I found it very human child like. It was an amazing experience.

Be creative, make curve swell gardens or make the shape of a flower with the flower gardens in broken up sections of the pedals, put a octagon gazebo in the center and plant beds around it with Yellow Cassia Rain trees planted around the gazebo, Creates more privacy around the Gazebo, and blooms long hanging branches of Flowers yearly, put mulch wide walkways between the sections, the possibilities are endless, draw it out on paper!

hi Cog Hill Family Farm. I love your podcast I love your videos I never miss one although I am a city girl born and raised and have no idea what you talk about sometimes but I love your enthusiasm. I do have to wonder when you said you'd get 450 lb of blackberries what in God's name you would do with them all. and that's not counting all the fruit you'll be getting from your various fruit trees. what do you plan to do with all of this produce? keep up the good work and I can hardly wait for Jason's pride and joy the flower farm to be in bloom. be sure to give nugget and Moo Man a hug for me.??

I think they were thinking of selling it at side of the road for passers by like when they were coming back & forth getting ready for the 40 they'd stop at side of the road & buy the fruit. Think that's what they plan to do!? It was mentioned at the time. 🙂 maybe they got other plans now I don't no !? Maybe selling it at the farmers market. But i don't think it's just for personal use its to make money as a business too!

Good Afternoon Cog Hill folks !!!!! Cloudy ,cool, rain and thunder here in my part of SC !!!! The warm temps the past couple of days were wonderful !! Enjoyed working in the yard ,picking up sticks ,getting up leaves to get ready for grass cutting....I let the leaves stay on the ground through the winter months to help the grass ..was told it was good for this. Watching y'all working so hard motivated me !😊😊 Leaves are coming out on the trees , daffodils , pear and cherry trees are blooming everywhere.Seems as if Spring has sprung !!!!!!! Y'all have a great afternoon!!!😊♥️💐

Im living in my 38 ft camper at my youngest sons and we've had 60 degree days just a few days ago . Its kicked in my gardening urge .lol

I understand what Brooke was saying about her feelings of tending the animals. I used to enjoy every moment with my animals. The milking was relaxing quiet time. The hugging the horses, smelling their hides, watching their beauty was so therapeutic for me. Watching the chickens and ducks antics, watching the antics of the goat kids also therapeutic. Now I'm old and my back is shot. I miss them terribly. I think every town should have a petting and feeding park. People would flock there and imagine how much happier people would be? I'm sure y'all understand. You're very blessed

I knew someone who planted a very large flower field visible from the main road of the town. When it began blooming they were approached by a few florist from the surrounding area asking if they could come cut flowers if they pay so they had fresh flowers for their arrangements. They also got recommendations of what to plant. They opened the garden twice a week as you cut it and made quite a good little business out of it without having to run a shop or go to markets all the time. Another good costumer we’re churches.

Definitely, flower "farm" could be designed more in the way of a grand garden with Cog Hill style touches.. Pathways, beds of different shapes, trellis arches, fountain, little gazebo to have a coffee break or picnic lunch in, cute little useful sheds, MC's koi pond, garden ornaments, and anything else you can dream up. You can probably grow just as many flowers that way and have a lot of fun doing it. Re greenhouse, a misting system you could set on a timer? 🌸💮🏵🌹🦋🐝🐞🥀🌺🌻🌼🌷🌿🍀💐❤💜💙💚

This is the main reason for my Farmers Almanac comment. I never even thought about planting outdoors till the first of April. That was in Southern Illinois and I know that your weather is different. Yesterday it was windy and the temperature was in forties, today we woke up to two inches of snow and now it is starting to rain in Economy, PA where we are living now. The Termite application workers have that happen often. The gentleman that you Brooke was speaking to has to change his plan schedule has to change in the late afternoon on Friday. He won't think you are a problem in no way. I am happy to feel like I am part of your family experiences.💖

Brooke, I work in the construction industry and let me put your mind at ease regarding rescheduling things at the last minute… it happens daily! Just this week we had to reschedule asphalt twice two days in a row with about a 30 minute notice. Happened with concrete this week too. Last minute reschedules are the norm and we take them in stride. You’re all good! With the passing of AC/DC I’ve been wondering if you will have a memory garden for all the pets that have passed?
