The play offs are essentially a cup competition and as I always say; Leeds United are not a cup club... Having said that, just imagine winning at Wembley. I literally couldn't think of anything better! So it's the Champo again next season minus Cree and Willy. And this is perfectly ok.

Interesting hypothetical - what would the mentality of the players and the fans have been had Leeds made it into the playoffs at the end of 2016/17? For most of that season, we had been around 4th or 5th in the league with no realistic prospect of catching the top two (Newcastle & Brighton). Everyone seemed to just be enjoying the ride of our first decent season in years, having quality players like Hernandez, Wood & Jansson, under a young upcoming coach in Monk. Tempting to think that had we made it, the pressure of "having" to get promoted would have been relatively absent - we certainly wouldn't have been viewing it through the current lens of needing to go up for financial reasons, having just missed out on the top 2, thereby feeling a a familiar sense of failure.

I have been a Leeds fan since 1990. It seems that not only the club but the city and people have a negative mentality. Hell, so do I. how else do you explain it? even now, how many actually think we are gonna win the play offs?
