I bought mine in 2017 and rigged it for for fishing. I didn't get the Angler version because I didn't think the price difference was worth.I rigged mine out myself adding rod holders in the same spot as from the factory and an anchor trolley for under $40. My fish finder transducer reads thru the hull mounted in plumbers putty.

If you’re truly new to sit in kayaks you adjust the foot pedals to drive your thighs up into the side pads so you’re body becomes one with the yak. The bottom is rounded so I would expect primary stability to be poor to medium. Secondary probably is fantastic. As you paddle you roll your weight to the side that has your paddle in the water. You should be able to get the water almost up to the top edge and have the kayak stop you from taking on water. It’s fun once you get the back of it. You can really get some speed going because there is less yak in the water as you roll it from side to side. Have fun dude.

My 1st kayak...old town vapor 10 angler...I still use it, and in fact use it more than my big yak...best 10' fishing kayak out there....never get wet, very stable, quick, handles waves amazingly, more room than u would think...I take 5-6 rods with me...and have caught ALOT of Big Bass!!

Good stuff. I cut my teeth on kayak fishing in a sit-inside Kayak (the Old school Jackson Kilroy). I loved that yak for Creek and stream fishing.

Also a splash thingy is needed of your in rougher waters to stop water from coming in. Also with it you can roll the yak and not have to bail it after.

Again if you are new to renter with a sit in. Win to the front of the yak with the yak upside down. Lift up the front into the air while your pfd keeps you afloat. Most of the water will pour out. With the front tip in the air roll it to upright. Swim to the side of the yak and renter. If it’s hard use a float on your paddle. Then get in the yak and use a double action high output pump to remove the rest of the water. Have fun. You should be able to renter the yak from the side or front or back. Wish I was there with you to do it.

Aliex, it is an awsome little sit-in, only because, I love the Oldtown fleet. But yikes, jyst not a fan, of any sit-in kayaks. They just scare me, and I'm only 5' 7" 153 lbs Lol. Especially when I'm used to walking all over my, 120 pdl, with stability, and running my J2- Bixpy setup. But i have a question? I wanna run my Garmin Striker FF. It has all tge options. With my V.M and two usb's, I have installed. I'm still using my 1st Cabela's 12V 8-AH amp hr battery, i purchased 2 yrs ago. What size Amped outdoors lithium, would you recommend. Just to run my FF, VM, and usb ports? My brother finally bought his, Pelican Catch 110 hydrive ii. So I'm trying to give him little giving him accessories that I'm upgrading. Thx bro. 😎 🎣 🙏

"Please always wear your PFD". Here in the Texas summer, my odds of dying of heat stroke far exceed my odds of drowning on the rare occasion I find myself in the water. I'd say it's a judgment call. There's risk either way. That's just the nature of adventur-ing.

Good point, but I'm still not going to put on the equivalent of a heavy winter vest to exercise in the 95 degree sun. Besides, you ever wonder how many of those "drowning victims" actually passed out from overheating and ended up drowning?
