At 16 I was interviewed on the national radio having designed and made motorbikes at school. Still have the audio tape and its weird to listen to this young me Im now 63 retired. The reporter asked how we did do all this at such a young age and what was I going to do when I grew up. Id never actually thought of how these skills and interests would manifest in a job, a voice in my head said "your going to be a designer in the car industry and run a factory" and before I knew it thats what came out my mouth but in reality makes no sense as designers and factory manager kinda separate jobs but of course by a totally convoluted root a career some 44 years of doing just that! But hears the odd thing as soon as Id said it I sort of forgot about any designer/factory manager job, there was no grand plan to follow it through, no real memory of the statement as I perused my early career. 20 years into working I found the miss placed tape and played it back to realise im in that exact job designing in the car industry and running a factory!

I work at a loud truck manufacturer. My job is not close to anyone, which is fortunate. One morning in March 2022, I just got to my station at my job, and then I heard a female voice. This voice was unlike my inner voice, it was much louder. I heard “you chose to be here”, three second pause, “you chose to be here”. I’ve never experienced anything like this before, nor after. It’s caused much confusion, and it’s something I’ll never forget. The one thing I did get out of it (benefit of the doubt), is that if I (we) chose to be here, then there was a place prior to this experience where I (we) made the choice to be here.

I was riding a motor scooter as a child, I was approaching an intersection cars rarely are at and decided to run the stop sign and like she mentioned a loud voice similar to own interjected into my head STOP! And a car speeding raced right in front of me. Perfect timing. I was no more than 10 years old and remember that to this day. Kinda life changing experience a voice in my mind saved my life. I have a tattoo across my chest” never ride faster than your Guardian angel”

I had a similar experience on a bmx on a hill with a mini on the intersection and all I heard was the crunch of the mini and my bike followed by the screams of “you stupid boy, what have you done”, not in my voice but the justified hysterical one of a poor woman. I’ve never had that voice and I’ve found myself in some real life threatening situations. 😆

This exact same thing happened to me just a couple weeks ago, except it was in my car approaching a stop sign that then crosses over the main (relatively heavy traveled) road where I live. I was going to straight run it at around 75 or 80 mph because my buddy in the backseat said I didn't have the balls. Well, I did. 100%. At least at first. Even he realized this, as noted by his audible "oh f*ck" as he slouched down into his seat and braced for impact. It was late a night and the chances of actual catastrophe weren't super high, maybe 10 or 20%. Which is still far too high to literally bet your life on for shits and giggles. I digress. At the last moment, a premonition hit me like a bolt of lightning, and seriously, an entire ultra realistic scenario played out in my minds eye virtually instantaneously. I slid to a stop right past the stop sign, but the slightest bit short of the danger zone. Close call. What's messed up is that no one was even coming. No car in sight for at least a half mile in each direction. So the sob ended up being right (called me a puss), and I learned that this stuff isn't supernatural. Had a car coincidentally came at that very moment, it would naturally have felt like divine intervention instead of cognitive biases taking advantage of interesting situations. Let that be a lesson to you folks. That said, can't rule out larger things at play

Loved her answer. It baffles me that people don’t see the parallels between “simulation theory” and the existence of “creator” It’s fundamentally the same thing. Only real difference is one attributes life as a test to the works of a universal intelligence that designed a magnificent reality while the other attributes this reality as a technological construct of a humanoid type entity. I find the probability of an intelligent universe far more probable.
@4kays160

The difference is a god creates reality, real things, real life, Where as in game theory or the simulation theory, everything is a simulation or a digital replication made by a physical intelligent being in a real universe just wanting t observe a simulation of a universe on there computer for either studying there own universe or experiment with slight chanfges to it or simply just for fun like watching a video game to see the chaos like how we play the sims... so if you think about it simulation theory is just like saying we are gods because we get powerfull enough to simulate our universe to study it, which we will do when we can... which wont make us gods it makes us scientists...

I always wondered, if we are living in a simulation a simulation of what? If it’s reality and it’s indistinguishable from the simulation then it’s pretty much reality anyway. And if whoever created that simulation the first thing I would ask myself if I can create a simulation where people don’t know it’s a simulation how would I know that I am not in a simulation? This leads to infinite regression of the same question over and over like a hall of mirrors reflecting each other. This would lead to something infinite, eternal, omniscient , and omnipotent which is God anyway so whatever reality is God created it ultimately. It’s all very fractal... Man this is good weed.
@stacyliddell5038

So many lazy assumptions. You got the infinite regression part clean but then to say that means God? Wasn't god a shoeless hebrew guy who got gutted by some romans? Sounds very "earthly" to me. If the whole god thing delivered new information and wasnt a goat herder story then it might have more credence. Super AI computer simulations but we read it on a 2000 year old book? Then later, independantly and nothing to do with God we figured out technology? doesnt pass the basic sniff test

@@AC-cj9zl - Yes, it is. Lex Fridman puts out a good show and gets a lot of views. This particular video, “Are we living in a simulation?, will attract people interested in this controversial subject. I wished to put out another controversial idea - that we are all authors of our own reality. As you can see from other comments, some people have found this reframe, this different way of thinking, has profoundly changed their lives. It is my intent to amplify this idea. Albert Einstein believed the most important question one could ask themselves is if they believed they lived in a hostile or a benevolent Universe. Your answer would determine the life you lead. My intent is to suggest more people believe they are the beneficiaries of a benevolent Universe. As Dr. Wayne Dyer said in “The Power of Intention”, “ When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.”

Every game has villains or at the least a common goal with multiple ways of achievement through right or immoral ways. I dig conversations like this.. if this is a simulation, freedom and exchange of ideas seem to be a major key into taking positive steps. Great conversation from peers I love to learn from.

A person who says Elvis is talking to him is labeled insane yet a person saying god spoke to them is considered normal. If that’s not called double standards, i don’t know what is. I mean, human brain is capable of creating amazing stuff but it’s still just a product of our imagination and not a universal reality. How so? The argument I've heard is that technological development will eventually lead to us creating simulations, which if true makes the probability of us being in a simulation a non-zero chance. This is different than religious creationism, since it's conclusion is causally linked to something observable, whereas the assumptions of creationism aren't. The conclusions look similar on the surface, but the reasoning seems completely different.

Intuition works very much as she describes. Sometimes you get a voice that will give you affirmation of something or tell you that something is NOT going to happen. It usually comes unsolicited. But you CAN train your intuition so that you can ask it questions directly. And you will get true answers but ONLY If you are not vested in the outcome. When you are vested in the outcome, you will confuse your own thoughts with the intuitive voice giving you the answer. If you spend time constantly checking your intuition as to whether you got something right or wrong, and choose to remember how you "felt" when asking and getting the answer, you can fine tune and tell the difference between a real intuitive answer and your mind getting in the way. It's a very powerful tool. More to do with listening than anything.

On some level… Of consciousness is the means to an end for the end to a means… It doesn’t really matter if we’re living in a simulation or not… The moral passion play is the real game. The choices that we make on the game board. Now of course, the spanner in the works is the notion that we don’t actually have free will.So maybe the game is that we are damned and doomed to observe the choices that we (robotically) make. Trying to discern what or who is responsible for the interactions doesn't seem to be helpful in my opinion. I believe that we are way more enmeshed with the universe, god, the actual process of creation than we give ourselves credit for. So if you hear the voice or you notice signs that point you in a specific direction, follow them. Maybe it's god, maybe it's the kid in the basement playing your video game, maybe it's just the part of you that exists outside of yourself..i don't know but the voice has never led me astray. Tom Brady. He’s who came immediately to mind when LIv spoke of someone who showed no obvious signs of greatness but basically willed themselves through over confidence to achieve greatness. That’s a big part of what makes the Tom Brady story what it is, why it is always a central part of every sport commentaries highlight reel of Tom Brady’s career. It can’t be stated enough how average he was as an athlete. How below average he was for the NFL. There was no objective reason for him to so confidentially tell both Robert Kraft and Bill Belichick that he would be the best decision they ever made. And then he went on to be, well ……. Tom Brady. He isn’t a natural elite athlete. He is a man with an elite of the elite focus, discipline, and determination with a complete unwavering belief in himself. Other greats have had that self belief but all the ones I can think of (and I am sure I am missing a bunch) also had an obvious talent that went with it. Nothing about Brady told you he was going to be Tom Brady. The only hint of it was in Michigan which was what Belichick saw that convinced him to try him out - that drive and determination to win.

At the start a question was asked as to why would someone want to do a simulation and he said for fun. A realistic simulation is basically a time machine. If your science is exact and you figured out how quantum reality works then you might find that nothing is random and everything can be predicted. So by running the simulation from the big bang you can rewind time and exactly see how everything turns out and find things you did not know about
@shanezanath2092

Your post is a little confusing. You seem to be talking about the arguement of Laplace's Demon: an appeal to determinism that if we were to know the position and velocity of every particle in the universe, it would be possible in principle to predict both future and past. But your arguement about the quantum runs counter to every reason quantum mechanics has been successful. From Heisenberg's Uncertainty principle stating it is impossible to know the position and velocity simultaneously, to the explanation of probability waves in the double slit experiment, to John Stuart Bell and his theorem to successfully demonstrate it truly is impossible to know position and velocity of particles simultaneously. That is, it's not an epistemological limit (the way of knowing what we know), it is an ontological impossibility (the way things work in a reality external to us). That quite literally is at the heart of quantum mechanics: whether you choose to use Schrodinger's Wave Function or Heisenberg's Uncertainty, they end at the same conclusion. And they both are predictions!!! It's just the prediction itself is a probability.

@@jenkem4464 Jen, you’re welcome to your opinion and beliefs just as I am, and I’m welcome to share my testimony. I live in America where I have to freedom to share my testimony. In fact, God teaches us Christians to tell others about him. Especially in these last days. He is desperately trying to reach others through his own. You don’t need convincing from me and you don’t need to even reply. But I will tell you this. With as much evil in this world and as much as I participated, after what God has done in my life, I CAN’T be silent. So you can actually bash me, you can call me a Bible thumper, you can say I’m jamming my God down peoples throats. You can say whatever you please. I hope someone else reads this and is curious, because Jesus taught us to be diligent. To not let people put us down but instead treat them with love and compassion just as he did. The Holy Bible isn’t a fairy tale. It’s a collections of books, scrolls and scriptures that have proven themselves over and over. Even more so recently. So I would humbly ask that you give God, the Bible and religion a real look. I promise you, I see God working in so many. I’m absolutely 100% not perfect, I’m worse than most. But I get on my knees everyday and give it to God, that’s all he asks. For us to acknowledge his sacrifice and seek forgiveness, seek him instead of the world and sin. My life is exponentially better than the opiate addict, sex addicted lost man I was.

Beautiful girl intelligently discussing simulation hypothesis substantially raises the probability that the fundamental nature of reality is some cool wet dream.

Simulation theory always struck me as something where the onus is to try to disprove we're in a simulation. The math is strongly in favor that we're NOT in base reality.

@@swampy1234 the math is that if we advance in technology, even at a snails pace. Our simulations will eventually be indistinguishable from reality. So the odds we are in real/base reality are low. Because there are so many of them. Or you still baseless?

@@jorgeo1492 This posit that everyone from Bostrom, to tha british Ph.D physicist/tv host Brian whatever, to Elon Fn Musk all repeat the same exact thing. What bothers me is that the entire premise that one of those handful of premises must be correct is untrue. There are not one, but several other posits (possibly more reasonable; likely even) that are so obvious that they should come as readily assumed to anyone with even the most slight advantage in intellect.

@@jorgeo1492 that was a bunch of words containing faulty assumptions, not math. Where are these mathematic calculations you’re referencing, and why are you so terrified to present them? Show your work.

So once we have this "key" and can escape, the first thing we do is to ask "where are we now", "how does things work around here?" and then we do the same thing over again..
