In the year of 2024 Playstation is skipping a year, Xbox is well doing nothing and Nintendo is in a State of next generation blues before Launch. Then we look at the Video game industry and the Triple A's games are hurting With Game as a service sucking the life out of it and the cost of it being Jobs but we have one hope Indie games.

The gaming industry will be fine. The mainstream AAA games? Probably gonna go into decline, or die. Still, feels like AA, indie, and older games, will fill that void. Many younger gamers, are turning to older games and other old pop culture. Because the newer, modern games, are so uninspired.

Sadly as far as the Triple F industry is concerned money and diversity comes first and players and goodwill is secondary, this year will produce anti-games and games like Stellar Blade will not be recommended.

Between pushing DEI, microtransactions, broken releases, and a push for live service games the industry is on a one trip stop to destruction. We got indie games though, indie is the future.

i genuinely refuse to buy any AAA games on launch anymore. it’s an obvious risk that i’ll be spending a $70+ on a game that’s just bad. other than hogwarts idk the last AAA game that i wish i bought day one. it’s simply not worth the money or time. as an adult gamer i got a lot going on and im done wasting time on BAD VIDEO GAMES. and most AAA games are objectively bad

Personally, I hope AAA dies. Those corpo losers dont know shit about what gamers enjoy, they copycat each other making copies of each other's live service slop but with a new IP. Some groups will survive, such as Nintendo might do well, but corporations that only produce one game very three years at the cost of a few hundred million dollars only to sell a dozen million copies at most will make no profits. History fact: The worst game in history is the Oregon Trail, yet a game far better than it was the last straw (ET) causes Nintendo to be the only hope of gaming.

We dont want thousand hour games with 950 hours of fluf. We want a good game that is maybe a few dozen hours with high replayability. Eg: Minecraft. You could finish it in less than a day, or you could finish it in half a year. No matter what, there will be something you can do. Start with a dirt hut and end up with an empire for your villagers to occupy.

Let's hope they all go under, no one wants $100+ crappy games with 10+ idiological ideas crammed in hurting the story/ip, maybe they'll figure it out before they go under. If not, loads of indie devs in the woodwork who want to become the new ubisoft, and then the circle starts all over.

I think we'll slowly see a revamp of triple A development to something more sustainable over the years. They got a MASSIVE boom of new players as gaming became more popular and the pandemic, but it's not sustainable growth.

*Gaming has been slowly dying since 2012 due to lack of innovation and creativity but now its just being outright MURDERED 💀 Bethesda, EA, 2K, Ubisoft, Square Enix have all failed miserably the past 5 years and now its up to Rockstar Games 🕵 if GTA6 is mid, console gaming as we know it will cease to exist* 👎

Metroid Prime 4 is about the only AAA title I'm exited for. And it's only because it's kinda just an elevated AA title from a franchise Nintendo finally decided to dig out of it's grave. I hope it'll be good. Oh also Resident Evil. I think capcom is finally on the right track.

I mean you're not wrong . There are only a few triple A games I am interested in playing this year from this point on . 1 - Elden Ring expansion : Shadow of the Erdtree 2 - Black Myth Wukong and I can put Stellar Blade as an honorable mention but since I don't have a ps5 that goes off the list , so yeah ....... 1 game and 1 expansion .... whoopie . As far as indie games goes there are so many interesting games in comparison its not even close .

AAA graphics are already downgraded in many cases. They look more shiny at first glance. But lack the detail and often physics seen in games from older generations. Mafia 3 was a graphical downgrade from Mafia 2 in every way except for facial animations. GTA 4 have better car collision, physics and ragdoll effects (it spazz out sometimes though) than GTA 5. Assassins Creed Unity have better animations, parkour, lighting and even character models than newer AC titles. And games that have "techincally" better graphics and run on more advanced engines etc like Skull and Bones and Suicide Squad still manage to look worse and have less detail than their 7th gen counterparts somehow. A lot of it is due to the older games amazing artsyle and work with lighting and colours to make up for the weaker hardware and what it was capable of rendering. But the result is still the same. Xbox 360/PS3/PC(old) looks nicer than Xbox series X/PS5/PC(modern) game. Much smaller teams with a 3rd of the budget managed to make better looking games in 2012. Its obvious that this focus on ever evolving graphics are pointless at this point.

End of Life Policy plays a big role in this of killing consoles off rendering them obsolete than your local government for why the ps5 is acting like it's old when it isn't if the End of Life policy never existed everything would be significantly better.

AAA studios need to stop adapting predatory practices (overpriced dlc and bad game design) and get away from the agenda driven preaching. Go back to making fun games again.

Devs and companies need to return to the 2010s era of gaming STORY GAMEPLAY and QUALITY, not Graphic Market Greed, If you want my 2 cents the industry was on it's way out just after 2014 hit and i refuse to play new gens and have done since 2014 very few games nowadays are built with Care and passion like the previous era's Only INDIE devs have that classic drive and passion for games, Men in suits in big buildings don't make Good Games they build wallet burners and bank breakers, Indie Devs are the only last stand the only reason i am even still a gamer is because among the piles of worthless shit and greed there are still indie devs whom have content that's better then all the current gen Triple As combine

Xbox us making avowed and a Indiana jones game. I think triple a games are pushing to make good games because they have to compete with gta 6. Big company's are forced to make sequels or hype up a new game or they could lose alot of money.

We can all list examples. The point is that for a very long time the AAA/big budget gaming industry represented the peak of gaming and what video games was capable of as a medium. And year after year it improved and pushed new boundries. Modern AAA gaming is the antithesis of that. We can all list Red Dead redemption 2, Ghost of Tsushima and God of War etc. But this used to be the norm. We used to get 10-20 Ghost of Tsushima or Witcher 3 quality games every year. Now we get one every 5-10 years, if even that. And you see how the AAA industry reacts when something like Baldurs gate 3 comes out. The game literarly is just a game from 1999 with modern 3d graphics, mo-capped cutscenes and voiced dialogue, instead of walls of text. But the combat, world exploration, quests and story, and general gameplay is just refined 90s stuff. And modern AAA studios are throwing a hissy fit about not being able to compete with the standard set in the 90s. The game has a big team and a big budget. But nothing compared to AAA. You could have gotten 3 BG3 games for the budget and manpower of Diablo 4 alone. The best citybuilder/rts of the decade will probably be Manorlords. It's made by one person. It outshines and outclasses Ubisofts modern Settlers games and Age of Empires 4. And it even does better than Total War in Total War-like combat, in its still early access stage.

@@MumblinGamer Nah, it will promote healthy competition among indy games where the best and quality will rise to top. Personally I can't find any games that would interest me these days and completely dull to photo realistic games of AAA. They feel restrictive and bland, not very flexiable in stylistic apartment due them needing be realistic looking. Not to mention I might not able run or have very bad performance because they cranking graphics in their games and I can't afford buying new pc, especially now when there huge economic crisis. Indy games have more variety, innovative, cheaper and most of the time not very high hardware demanding to run them.
