One thing, what do you mean by repeating "She didn't disappoint?" Not only she did this cover as best as possible, she sang this song tens of times better than the original!

"She didn't disappoint" is a typical understatement in the English language - it's actually a great compliment, meaning Diana was at her usual high level.

No one pressed his button on this one because it was the finals so there was no need, the audience voted and she won by a huge margin. I honestly prefere this cover from the original and i love the original but Diana's imersion to it ,her deep all attracting voice and the native/old western instramentation and setting won me over.

If we're getting more Diana I'd better make it 1001 subs 😂 BTW there is no substantial effect on this. There used to be a video of Diana singing this in a small club to the backing track. Half way through her amp broke. So she finished it singing acapella - sounded just the same! Edit. You don't need to worry about the lyrics to Rechenka. Diana has sung in foreign languages since she was quite young. She sang “Oh, Darling” (Beatles song!) at 10 years old and had the most adorable accent lol. You’ve probably gotten some recommendations to see it. There were also a few French songs around 12 or 13 years old that she seemed to pronounce quite accurately. If you ask me though I’ll always have a soft spot for her Russian-language songs, I just think the language is very beautiful and of course since it’s her native language she is probably most comfortable with it. Don’t be too scared to check out foreign-language songs, they are worth listening to and, more often than not, they will transcend language barriers :)

Thanks for another reaction to Diana - if you want to do more songs in English, there are several to consider. However, maybe the best would be her cover of Louis Armstrong's "What a Wonderful World" which was released in January 2022 - kzfaq.info/get/bejne/fbVxbKmgnL2vh5s.html Another would be from the same show as the Elvis cover - this time a cover of Depeche Mode's "Personal Jesus" - kzfaq.info/get/bejne/f8Wql8aTsZeacqs.html Diana also covered "Califonia Dreamin" (The Mama & the Papas) and "Sweet Dreams (are Made of This)" (Eurythmics) on the Russian version of "The Masked Singer" earlier this year, both of which are available on Constantine's channel - "Kwstas Vagias". But, please continue with her songs in Russian - "Rechenka" is a must - again it's on Constantine's channel. Don't worry about the lyrics, just enjoy the performance!

She listens to a song 2-3 times, reads the lyrics, then sings it! Seriously, THAT quick! She has an ability to interpret lyrics in ANY language perfectly, often better than the original singer! This young lady is super smart and she really doesn't seem to know that! I have watched many interviews since she was quite young and she always impressed me how adult and eloquently she spoke.

One video of Diana's, in my sight, is a total masterpiece the like of which I don't remember ever seeing before in my long life. It's a must see for anyone that loves singing with unending emotion. The background of the song is essential to know. The title of the song is "Ornery (or "Fastidious" or "Finicky") Horses". The song has nothing to do with horses in reality - the horses are being used as a metaphor for life. The author of song is begging the horses to slow down (he is aware he is approaching death), but, at the same time he is whipping them along (his chaotic lifestyle) - he knows that his lifestyle is taking him to an early death, however, he is unable to change it.....the composer of the song, Vladimir Vysotsky, was a singer-songwriter, poet, and actor as well as an alcoholic & drug addict and died in 1980 at the age of 42. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/ottonLpqp8m7nY0.html . Great reaction guys. I'm close to your age (maybe a little younger), and have been listening to music my whole life. I can't get enough of this girls work. She is so unique and her voice is so amazing and she is a pure artist. A real marvel and a breath of fresh air in the industry as far as I am concerned. She is true to herself, too. Modest, hardworking, a sweetheart and a real figher all at once. How can you not admire her if you are at all 'human'? 😉 Отличная реакция, ребята. So, how does Diana Ankudinova do it? How can such a young female singer reach such low, rich, deep, resonant and profound sounds? Without actually scoping her vocal tract while she produces these low and high notes, the general conciseness of many vocal professionals attributes Diana's sound to winning the genetic lottery, she was just being born with unique vocal anatomy. Diana's vocal folds (vocal cords) appear to be longer and thicker than the majority of female singers. Her larynx (voice box) also appears to be larger, along with her pharynx (throat) which similarly appears to be longer than most other female singers plus she has a large oral cavity (mouth). It's this unique vocal anatomy that gives Diana Ankudinova the ability to produce her low, deep, rich, and full sounds, but without actually scoping Diana's vocal track there is no way to be 100% sure.

Diana's uniqueness lies in the fact that the range of her voice allows her to perform a song by any singer with voice imitation up to 99%, while she has her own unique voice, which no singer in the world can repeat. Only on one show, "Mask", she, hiding her voice, repeated the voices of seven singers. Enjoy such a miracle.

Diana has a totally unique, one of a kind vocal color. Nobody on the planet sounds like Diana. She creates atmosphere with her voice alone. This song was the "finals'. No buttons, no judges. The fans called in via text for the winner. Diana won easily. Rechenka is tribal and one of Diana's signature songs. If you pull songs off of Diana's official KZfaq channel they all have good English subtitles. The TV performances on Russian TV (like this one) generally doesn't have quality subtitles.

I have personally translated and typed correct English subtitles on almost all my Diana videos so almost all of them except for a couple that I have not finished yet have better English translations than those from Diana's channel, including this video.

This was the third and final performance during the second year of her appearance on the You're Super talent show for children who had been without parents. Since there was no advancement to a further round of competition, there was no button pushing required by the judges. On her performance of Rechenka, you don't need to know the lyrics. Just let yourself be hypnotized. The judges for that performance were mesmerized. In three minutes, she made all of them forget where they were and why they were there. She was just 14 years old at the time. It would be much more pleasant without the F words when you react to Diana. She deserves better. Hi guys ! You would not believe it but you actually do not need translation of the lyrics of Diana's cover of Recheñka ! It's just enough to say that this is the folk song telling the story of a girl lamenting to the river about being married off to the man whom she doesn't love, yet she accepts the inevitable and even seems to be be trying to make the best in these dire circumstances. 😢😊😢

Diana was 18 there. Just listen her cover "What a wonderful life", she is so soft there. And " California dreams ", she always did cover by her own stile, so it is very interesting to listen her. When she sing in Russian you can see her amazing voice in another spector, not the same, in English. And she has a one song in French

If you're going to do "Rechenka", please do the first public performance of the song she did at age 14 in "You Are Super". If you read a decent description of the meaning of the song, then the subtitles won't matter at all. In the video you just watched, it was the night the audience did the voting, so the judges got to just watch and listen. Clearly, they enjoyed it. For the record, Diana got perfect scores from every performance in both seasons of this contest. It was designed specifically for underprivileged children who had been, like her, orphaned for a part of their childhood. She was already being called "the queen of goosebumps". The best idea with Diana's Russian language performances is to read up on the lyrics/meaning of the song beforehand if you can, and not worry too much about trying to read the subtitles as she sings (the translations aren't always the best, or in others where the lyrics are from a poem, for example, the poetry can be lost in translation). Rechenka is absolutely worth watching - it is a wild ride, and a pleasure and shock to see her crazy skill, talent and youthful energy at 14 years old.
