She so perfectly captures the impossible little tykes that teachers have to deal with and who are actually highly intelligent but dedicate their school lives to backchat then see their former teachers every week from behind a till at Tesco. I was that little tyke to some of my teachers and I don't know how they resisted laying me out to be honest ( well one poor women did actually strike me ).

The way you can laugh at this, it's also the way I can laugh at my students when they do stuff like this. Not everyone can take it, and not everyone can roll with the punches. But I love it and usually roast them back, take the hit and laugh, or my favorite: act like it's a serious suggestion and use it in my lesson! (doesn't mean I'm not happy I get vacation once every 6 to 8 weeks... I need it more then them! 🤣😂)

I remember kids like this in the 1980's trying to give the less experienced teachers a hard time . But we've got a better understanding of teenage psychology these days . Most teachers are friendlier but also come with behaviour boundries too.

Unfortunately, I was one of those terrible 80s kids. At one point I was on 'report' for truancy, which in those days meant getting a report book signed by the teacher to confirm I had attended their class. Quite often the teachers would sign the book and tell me to leave before the class had even started.
