@@lilarodrigues2698 I think it was because she was very critical in her opinions, although I am sure she didn’t mean to be. Also, her feedback in her video diaries gave the impression that she didn’t want to be there. Again I think that is just more to do with her reserve, than anything else. If she was that bad, it would have shown in her relationships with the other girls.

What Tiffany meant by Korean men was literally obvious, she explained it in that same episode but people ignored. Didnt think anything problematic by not wantint a Kpop looking guy because it would be hypocritical since most non east asian women who obsess over Korean men are literally ONLY interested in Korean Men who look like Kpop stars. The language barrier argument that a lot of people brought up as a reason for Tiffanys popularity doesnt really apply since there were only three guys on the show who spoke "broken" english and and out of the three only one showed an interest in her. KJ and Dan are both fluent in English and korean.

So obsessing over getting a kpop star lookalike = good but wanting a korean man who does not look like a kpop star = bad. People really are funny. She seems like a calm but also quite shy person. Nothing wrong with stating what your physical and character preferences are on a dating show or being aware of it. In the end she chose character. I find it funny how on other videos people would say she thinks so "highly of herself" just because she had a lot of guys interested in her and isnt bubbly and all smiles all the time. If Tiffany remained the way she was but only had one or no guy pursuing her, nobody would say she thought too highly of herself. Nor would they have criticized her looks or personality. Anyway, Tiffany did well with how she responded to the comments.

There is always going to be someone out there who someone else thinks is better looking than you. It doesnt matter how "basic" or "avarage" you think the other person looks. I think that is something viewers need to learn. You dont need to study why a man finds a certain woman more attractive, just accept it and dont hate or dislike the other woman for it! Tiffany is honestly so lovely! How she reacted to all this just makes me respect her more. Classy indeed.

Tiffany is very much a realist. Also i dont think there is any need for her to sugar coat anything since she hasnt been mean. She isnt smiling all the time, she isnt bubbly all the time, she doesnt speak all the time... all that can easily be mistaken by many people as being stuck up, so when people like her share their opinion on anything it is quickly mistaken as them being "mean" or what not. However when a man has those qualities then its "mysterious" and "hot".

Lmao not going to lie, its always fascinating and interesting how female viewers react to the girl who gets the most guys and i say this as a woman myself. Its as if female viewers always want to punish that woman for being liked. People will literally sit there and jot down all the possible other reasons that girl is liked because its so uncomfortable to just live with the idea that maybe, just maybe those men found that woman more physically attractive? When will people just leave the wanted girls alone. Its the same with Single Inferno, Love Island and many other TV-Shows. Oh yeah and then come the people trying to bully the wanted woman into thinking she isnt worthy or doesnt deserve to have those men interested in them. "oh its only because..."So weird....

I don’t think many people enjoyed Tiffany being on the show because of her personality type. Many foreigners are used to seeing drama and the sex appeal on dating shows. Her personality is meant for finding a partner at the same job company than to explore and be on a dating show where the men have to show their interest in different girls.
@pootlovato8237

You absolutely hit the nail on the head. I understand that people shouldn't have gone so hard on her especially since people should have been more aware that its probably not common to have more flamboyant personality types on Korean/East asian focused dating shows, however this kind of hate for seemingly boring contestants ALWAYS happens, as unfortunate as it is. her personality type definitely was not fit for reality tv dating shows, especially when im assuming most viewers are used to dating shows like love island where all sorts of people's personalities shine through. The boring ones are always shat on for blending into the background. It happens and it's just normal reality tv viewer shenanigans, unfortunately. the amount of attention she was getting on top of people finding her boring also tended to amplify the hate because people weren't interested in her storyline as much and wanted to see other contestants. I find that when that happens that tends to make the hate worse especially when its a contestant who doesn't SEEM like they are doing or saying much that brings out their personality, so viewers get frustrated. Ive been watching reality tv dating shows for a good portion of my life so i know this is standard sentiment for viewers and how it usually never ends well for people who appear boring on these shows unless they do something to change people's minds, which could have happened with tiffany if the show was longer. But most if not all boring contestants are dogged on for it if they are put on camera longer than people would like.

It happens to people who appear boring on western reality TV shows a lot so if even the panelists were saying she was boring its most likely where all the sentiment was coming from. I think most people were seeing this show from that perspective so they did not take into consideration that it probably seems too harsh for people who aren't used to western reality TV shows where the contestants are more expressive with their personalities. I agree that people should not have made fun of her looks or try to downplay her beauty though. Tiffany is a very beautiful woman.

It's interesting seeing these Season 1 contestant Q&A videos: I realise that watching the show, viewers have a small timeframe to formulate opinions on the contestants / couples that will be biased, no matter what. Furthermore, the way the episodes are edited, my opinions were WAY OFF based on what I retroactively learned with these Q&As. I hope Season 2 can have great episodes that portray the contestants in a proper light that viewers won't misjudge them like we did Season 1. Perhaps, there can be a Deleted Scenes Panel Viewing (heck, make it a fundraiser to help the Kickstarter) so the perceptions we form of the contestants are fair (or as fair as a reality show can be hehe). That being said, I loved watching Tiffany's Q&A; she's a lot more interesting than I thought. "Shy & soft-spoken" can easily look "boring" in a reality show setting. It definitely worked in the grand vision where every contestant had a specific role to play: Dan was the "bad boy", Minjae was the "cute nerd", Sonja was the "free spirit", Bella was "Queen B", etc. I can't wait to see what Season 2 brings to the table :-)

I will admit she did not deserve hate comments. But I still couldn't connect with her while watching. So even though she's my least favorite female "contestant" she wasn't the worst out of the group and I respect her for the way she participated even though she didn't seem interested at all. In a situation like that, where there aren't anyone your type or is interesting what can you do? Tiffany you're tough and handled it all well so don't feel discouraged.

Hello everybody, This is David, the producer of Ramyun and Chill. I wish everyone a belated Happy New Year! It has already been almost two months since Ramyun and Chill Season 1 ended. Time really flies! Thank you again for watching the show and having interest in it :) I am writing this to give you some updates on the production of Season 2. To be honest, we have a high chance of NOT being able to make Ramyun and Chill - Season 2. This is because we need a certain amount of minimum budget procured to make Season 2 rolling and that looks unreachable at the moment. Our Kickstarter campaign has 2 weeks remaining with only a 45% funding rate. While this amount itself is thrilling, since it has already exceeded our funding amount from Ramyun and Chill - Season 1, unfortunately, at this rate it will be impossible for us to continue the project. We are doing everything on our end as well, such as contacting potential sponsors and applying to multiple government content funding programs. However, the limitation of this is that we have to wait without a guarantee that we will be accepted by the sponsor or program. Thus, time is spent waiting and there is no guarantee that we will secure the funds from the programs. As we need to pay productions upfront in order to execute the filming, the project will get delayed indefinitely or canceled. This is why the Kickstarter campaign is essential for us. I would like to ask everyone who enjoyed the show to please donate the very least you can, to make the show happen. If everyone who watched the show could just donate a single dollar, it would make the show live. We are not just asking you to blindly support us, if you read the campaign carefully, you will see perks for each amount of pledge, which include some awesome stuff that can get you exclusive rights/access/merch for the show. You will be able to vote your favorite cast or someone from your own country into the show! BTW If the campaign does not meet its goal, your pledge will be immediately refunded. So please check it out and consider supporting: www.kickstarter.com/projects/ramyunandchill/ramyun-and-chill-2-an-international-korean-dating-show?ref=user_menu As you can read in the Kickstarter campaign, we are ready to make the BEST international dating show ever! When we showcased Ramyun and Chill - Season 1 to the world and people in the media industry, many were shocked with the quality and entertainment, considering that we barely had a budget compared to big productions and also the fact that one person did all the editing. We didn't even use any money on marketing(ads) and the first episode has already surpassed a million views! So imagine what we could do with a proper budget and a bigger team. With more casts, more cameras, more days to mingle, more diversity, and better locations, dates, and activities. We really believe that Ramyun and Chill has the potential to become the next Single's Inferno, Terrace House, or Too Hot to Handle, but on a bigger global scale, and with MEANING, on Netflix or other streaming services. If that is to happen, if you decide to donate to the Kickstarter campaign, you will be one of the people who contributed to making the awesome series! Please check out the campaign and we hope to deliver you the best Ramyun and Chill Season 2! www.kickstarter.com/projects/ramyunandchill/ramyun-and-chill-2-an-international-korean-dating-show?ref=user_menu Thank you, David Kim (Main Producer of Ramyun and Chill) Ramyun and Chill Team P.S. We already have more than 500 females that want to be on the show! Don't you want to see their auditions happen?!

I would ask the owner of the venue where you will film, also try getting some sponsorships from businesses. Hold an event to entice businesses to come in and see what you are all about. Also hit up KZfaq executives for sponsorship or a donation. Have a great day hope to see Ramyun & Chill 2 coming soon. I am moving there soon so I will have to find an apartment so I have no extra cash sorry. I hope my ideas helped though 😊

Hello R&C team, A brilliant job with season 1. It went beyond my expectations. When season 2 discussions were started I actually wanted to pitch in ideas and contribute. Looking from a different viewpoint now I personally don't want you guys to do a season 2 or only do it if it gets picked up by a legit production network like Viki. I rather have you leave R&C on a high note or shelf it for now and work on something else. Sorry if this isn't want you were expecting to hear.

agree, they should rest and take some time to reflect as I think all the criticisms are valid. I think it would be hard for them to change everything especially so sooon after season 1 has aired. Also we have to be more careful next time so we don't end up hurting another Tiffany, it's tough enough as we are using real people's feelings as entertainment, if they were acting then it would be more reasonable that we get upset over who wins what.

I know in my community (black community), if we show interest in anyone outside of our race, there's backlash--so I really don't understand why people are so shocked or upset that Korean men would gravitate towards Tiffany the most. Honesty, most of the hate Tiffany got was unnecessary. It seemed as though she was the punching bag for the actions of men on the show. It's not her fault they were picking her. Sounds like jealousy to me.

Next season you guys should cut out lines of panelists who speak badly about the contestants. I always found that extremely weird and distasteful on your part. And it's not unknown that there is strength in numbers. Once one person voices their dislike for a contestant suddenly all the comments are hateful. I understand that this was a 'social experiment' but you lose your ethics when you broadcast it like this. Gotta do better.

The most surprising thing this show has shown me…mostly in the comments. The farther we make progress in intercultural dating; the more people’s unconscious biases come out. I have seen some of the most ignorant types of comments and assumptions said about these people than I’ve ever heard. I actually liked the fact that people from different cultures and countries decided that they were interested in exploring something different. This Season had an awesome cast. The only person I wasn’t interested in was Erika and that was due to her personality and comments on people not liking her because of her skin color. I was really hoping Sonya and Minjae would make it past the show, but I can’t wait to see Season 2.

its not like what Erika was saying wasn't true to a certain extent. However, I'm not sure she (and especially other commenters) understand that it's actually very unattractive to voice accusations like she did out loud. It sounds like she definitely has an inferiority complex about her skin, being that she is mixed. I see this happen to a lot of mixed people depending on which community of their mixed race sides they reside in so im assuming she grew up being picked on for her black side. I think it's ok to admit that it definitely happens but in Erika's case her reason was absolutely not the case. As far as your comments about interracial/cultural dating, I think this sentiment is mainly coming from black people who have rarely interacted (by this i mean genuinely associate with or are friends with) with non-black people so most of what they know is from brief exchanges or other ppl in the community 'warning' them about other groups of people hating black people. i have definitely noticed a trend of mainly westernized black people making a lot of, dare i say, paranoid statements about other non-black groups and that could stem from what is passed down from their parents due to antagonistic/negative tensions and experiences they had in the past with other groups so they automatically assume most people outside of their community are not to trust out of fear of them being racist. I don't see this attitude much with other africans, though as well as other african americans who grew up abroad and find that the experience is actually quite the opposite with those who grew up outside of the US. One Japanese-African lady on youtube was talking about the difference between her experience being born and raised in japan and when she went to go study in the U.S and saw how bad the racial tensions were in that country it started to affect the way she saw herself because people kept putting her in or taking her out of categories and boxes for her. I have also expereinced this myself, as i am an african who grew up in an eastern european country and it wasn't until i moved to north america was when i started to become hyperaware of my race. I feel like it can be such a destructive mindset to have for anyone's mental health, to be honest.

@@pootlovato8237 as I am I black woman from the USA, we have a unique experience with racism that does not translate to other black experiences in other countries. I'm thankful for that. That being said other black cultures have their own experiences that I can't speak to. That being said there is a certain sensitivity to subtle racist cues that American black women have, I didn't sense that at all in this show. In Erika's case..to me she zeroed in on Chan and no one else mattered. The men picked up on that, then she used her skin color as an excuse...Dan was there..he picked her first..she turned him down. I was so offended when she made that comment. I'm glad Dan confronted her about choosing her first and her turning down. None of these young ladies were American, so I just didn't get it... To me it seems all the attention to cultures (race) is coming from the audience and that's a shame.

@pootlovato8237 Жыл бұрын
@@sonicarter1108 Oh yes. I made sure to make that distinction when i brought up the audience making those types of assumptions towards Bella and Erika, rather than Erika’s own assumptions. I think the experience in terms of dating black women are similar across the diaspora with some exceptions, however these things might be more amplified in the U.S and i worry about how much of an affect this has on black women in particular. I have many black friends who often share this sentiment, though I wonder if travelling or speaking to more non black people internationally was encouraged more the sentiment would change. I’m definitely speaking from an outsider’s perspective, so i apologize if i am speaking out of turn especially if there are some underlying variables i cannot consider since i dont live the black american experience, but I honestly think there could be an ouroboros effect happening in the united states where everyone feels like they are out to get each other and it fuels a lot of the self fulfilling biases people tend to have about each other. it seems like what ive understood from what other groups of races had told me is that it is very much a “people are afraid of what they don’t know” type of situation a majority of the time, and i think thats why we tend to gravitate towards those that look like us out of comfort instead of taking risks outside of that bubble. That being said, the audience definitely contributing to adding to this sentiment and i agree that its a shame since this show was meant to imply that everyone was open to dating anyone. Its definitely getting depressing reading the comments and especially seeing the frustration many people are having with eachother for these complex issues.

She is a person like anyone else and she has feelings, too. Reading all of the backlash she received in the episodes' comment section probably really affected her already. Not to mention the messages and comments on her social media from people who think they have a right to ask her about her decisions on a show. You all should really consider NOT choosing hateful comments and questions such as these next time around if you do a second season. I am disappointed in the way this was handled, and I hope she is okay after all of this.
