This Fender Vent is from C7 Carbon. Below is the link to their website. The description on installation seems to be straight forward, but it turns out to be a major project. This is not a "bolt on" mod that you can do in one day! Allow yourself plenty of time to work on it. I am not done yet, but the progress is good. Will finish the project on Part II of the series.
A note to C7 Carbon: You need to be clear on your product description that the On-Star antenna is in the way and must be dealt with. Your installation manual mentioned about the On-Star bracket and recommended to be relocated, however, I don't see how you can do it without removing the fender from the car. This is a major project and not for the faint of heart. Your instruction manual needs to have a lot more details.

You should get a Medal of Honor for your work here! There is no way this company has ever installed one of their vents in an actual car before....otherwise their design would have accommodated the beams under the fender and their instructions would have warned their buyers of the extensive modifications required to install it. Leaving the ONSTAR unplugged will throw a CEL. $750 is a rip off, but your effort and dedication to this project is AMAZING! Good job.

Thanks for your kind words. I love the challenges, but it is not cool that this company did not warn consumers on the obstructions. I didn't know about OnStar without antenna will throw a CEL, so I will have to find a way to plug it back in. Thanks for the info! Hope this video gets out to folks wanting to do this upgrade!

It’s an awesome mod but agreed the company should have done a better job of explanation and instruction especially for that amount. Can’t wait for the finished install vid good luck and great videos!

It doesn't throw a CEL, or at least didn't on my 23. I woulda left the modules unplugged but I realized at Limerock you lose PDR lap timing which is not acceptable for me, so I'll be fighting to put the modules back in

@@MarkIsOnFire these are just antenna thought. I believe the OnStar module locates inside the cabin right?

I’m really glad you posted this. I have been considering buying these and it look like installation will be much more challenging than what I anticipated. Do you think it’s possible for a body shop to install these in a way that they’re bonded and fully flush? I’m not crazy about the lip.

Yes, it's possible to get rid of the lip and fiberglass the vent to the fender. However, you need to find a custom auto shop and it will cost you an arm and a leg. we are talking thousands in labor. Check back on my channel this weekend for the final part of the installation and see if you can live with the lips. To me, they aren't that bad. Still look wicked cool comparing to stock fenders.

So those are antennas for the Onstar communications & GPS and the onboard Navigation ....

Thanks for the info. I was told it is just antennas On-Star. I better find a good way to relocate it. Do you know if it will get hot?

Was on their website and saw they do have instructions. Go to item that you purchased and scroll down. You will see a down load for it. Hope it helps! Great vids keep them coming!

@@samgeigel8183Thanks. Someone else just let me know about the manual. It wasn’t there when I bought the vent about 4 weeks ago. They must have uploaded it. It took them 4 weeks to ship. Didn’t say that on the website either! Anyway, the manual doesn’t have enough details. You are still on your own! Appreciate you doing the research!

KT I was looking at doing this mod also looking at the Gran Veloce Front Fender Vents. Nice work on the video !!!

Thanks. I was looking at the Gran Veloce fender vent as well. I like the C7 Carbon better because it is deeper and functional. I assume that the Gran Veloce is non-functional? I might be wrong. Anyhow, you should be able to retain your On-Star antenna with it. Should be a much simpler install. Let me know how it works out for you if you decide to tackle the project!

The company wants to charge you $50 for the instructions? Ugh, that’s not good business. Keeping the Onstar unplugged will stop GM from telling on you to the insurance company, save you a few bucks.
