Yes, i believe it's important to prepare. Food, water, meds, basic necessities for a year or as much as you can. However, none of us can prepare for everything that might happen. If we try to do that, we can end up in a downward spiral where we never feel like we've done enough and, therefore, aren't protected. That brings anxiety. Stock up for your family, and plan to help other people that you care about in case of a crisis. Do the best you can, then go about living and loving each other. Refuse to be pitted against your neighbors and fellow Americans. Fear is being used as a weapon against us, and peace is our greatest defense. I hope i can remember my own words when times get tough.

I've been feeling this since the end of September. Great advice Sandy. I am only spending on necessities right now and prepping items. I've been turning away from the things of this world. I don't even like the movies and t.v. shows that I used to watch. I spend more time in prayer now, and trying to deepen my relationship with our Lord. It's like a couple of months ago my eyes were opened to the sins in my life, as well as the sin in this world. It was a heaviness that stayed with me. I'm trying to do better each day.

When I used to follow a lot of prepper channels, I always felt like something is coming and it's coming soon. However, when I stopped watching them and started listening to the Bible and Bible teachings, my sanity came back. Definitely prepare 💯, but also definitely don't waste your mental health on youtube prepper channels. If you're on the edge of your seat often thinking and feeling like something huge is about to happen, that could be a sign that you watch too many youtube prepping channels.

I'm only 43, but my hubby and I have been prepping since 2001. I have a lot of great tips as well as failures or even things I would do differently. God wants me to help, so if you need advice or questions, just let me know. With that being said, it is crucial to stock items we take for granted. Shampoo/conditioner, for example. I don't use V05 or suave, however I stock pile it because it's cheap and will work in a crisis. Dawn dish soap is an all-purpose soap. You won't have room to stock up on a million tiny hand soaps. Just stock dawn as it goes on sale. It removes stains, cleans hands, and millions of other things. Bleach will be crucial, but it won't store well long-term and it's bulky. Store bleach tabs instead. Now, people you know or don't know will come knocking. I have told my extended family that they need to prep. They haven't, and I can't help them because they choose the world and not God's warning. However, I do keep a certain amount of danger reserves. This is stuff that people think you only have, such as extra rice, coffee, salt, and sugar. While my major stocks are hidden. I give them that danger reserves, and they go. No one is harmed, and they think they got away with your food, unlikely to return. Same for the family scenario I mentioned above. Your immediate family is your responsibility. Not your SIL who drank her paycheck at the clubs while you put in the time, effort, and money. Medicine, go to your doctor and inform them that your faith requires a reserve in your medicine or that you're taking an extended vacation. Most insurance companies will not fight it based on religious grounds... think Mormons, I'm not, but do utilize this tactic because I'm a type 1 diabetic that needs insulin. Also, be aware, since I spoke about Mormons, that they have amazing long-term food storage houses all over. Call them and request the address to their provident store houses. You can also order online, and I will leave a link to that site for you all. The prices are unmatched, and their long-term foods are delicious! I am not Mormon, but everyone is welcome to come and purchase canning items, mylar bags, water filters, and food at cost. It is one of my most valuable resources. Thank you for the reminders and tips. I've started just picking up a little at a time and storing it away. After 2020, I realized how crazy people can be, (ie...buying all the toilet paper) so even if its only perceived bad, some people just lose their minds and over buy. I never thought about getting things like tylenol, deoderant, feminine supplies etc...Thank you!

You cant name one single thing that gets better by the day. You can only go negative so long before something pops. I look at prepping as the simple fact we wont be surprised or caught off guard for any reason. No matter what the scenario is we will always be in a better position to cope. Rather than call it prepping I think of it as having a forward thinking mindset.

We are at a place right now where I retired from my job in December because of doing hair for almost 30 years. My elbow just wasn’t working well. … and so I’m at that place now and I’m thankful that I had stocked up for the past 10 years!!! I started about 18 months ago preparing after recently. Listening to some preppers and gardeners only because I had that feeling that something was gonna happen. And I really didn't know where to start listening to. Them gave me great heads up and so I've started too. Get my house in order, but yes, I felt like this pressure in my chest all the time. The Holy Spirit told me to watch, pray, and prepare during 50 days time period. June 14th will be the end of the 50 days. So far a lot has happened. Especially with trying to charge BiBi with war crimes and Iran helicopter crash. Yes I believe something is coming quickly and I believe Jesus is coming quickly. You’re not alone in this feeling! I also am not sure what is coming but I feel! Have been feeling that way for months, only Now there’s a feeling of urgency to get things done and get things ready, that I haven’t felt along with the need to prepare or prep! I feel a need to hurry!

The medication not being available is what I am most concerned about for my family. My mom has Parkinson's and if she doesn't get her medicine her life would be a nightmare! She is also on an antidepressant and cannot go cold turkey on those either. all we would have to do is get into a tiff with China and they could shut down our medicine supply instantly. It would be horrible for so many people.

We buy bottled water and store it for a few months then drink through it and replenish as we drink through it. We also get 5 gallon water jugs delivered and keep about 13 on hand at all times so we are good in water

If the power is off for a long time and you have canned goods stocked, be sure to purchase several extra manual can openers because they don't last long.

I stay stocked up on things when they go on sale. I think it’s smart to plan ahead and be prepared because I do not know what tomorrow holds but I KNOW who holds tomorrow. Here's a tip for doing laundry without electricity: Get a large bucket/container, or even a sink or bathtub and use a toilet bowl plunger to agitate the clothes! Cool? 👍

I have felt this since 2009. My husband and I started buying long shelf life food in 2010. I am shocked it’s taken so long to escalate to this. And yet it’s escalated quickly. It’s just an odd feeling. I agree it’s not too late to prepare. But get busy ! You need water 💦 and long shelf life food. Cleaning and sterilizing products. Try to get solar. And I’ll tell you the solar generators can run several tiny AC units. And you need a way to stay cool. I recommend getting a pool to store water and a way to purify the water. There are many options. From making your own for about $50 to buying a Berkey. Several options are best. So water , storage & purification , long shelf life food , a generator with little mini AC units. And there are many ways to keep warm and cook. The Vesta stove / heater is a great option. Propane and a propane stove. Maybe look into a couple things this week , then next week think about what s next on the list. A few other things I will recommend are learning how to can food, investing in a storm shelter . We were on a waiting list for 5 months. Get on a list to get one. And just try to make a way to pay for in over time. Get Chickens! 🐓 eggs are a great source of protein and they are easy to care for. We have roosters so we can produce more chickens. We ordered 20 baby chicks. Ended up with 1 rooster so we get an Incubator and started having more chicks. Look into composting toilets and “ family clothes “ in Lou of toilet paper. 🧻. Personally I like composting toilets better than a flush toilet. And family clothes work very well. But study up on them about how to clean them. It’s easy but still take precautions. As far as illness go online and order antibiotics from Canada. We do every year. And that’s peace of mind. I know it a lot to think about. Just start thinking and do what you can. Honestly I think that it’s the suns activity that is causing the problems. Something is making our sun react. I do not know what we are in for but I believe in God and he will get us through whatever it is. He got me through a plane crash, God is always with you. But he expects us to be knowledgeable. To learn his word and ways to survive. You’re not alone! We are all in this together. And you might think well if Jesus is returning then why do we need to do all these things. It’s because we don’t know how long he will be. And we might be in a situation where we need to help others. To sustain them so we can teach them about our wonderful savior. The truth is many are still lost. If being prepared can help save someone so there is time to tell them about Jesus Christ then it’s well worth our time & money . Remember you are not alone. Yes , meal plan, start with dinners( may only have one meal a day, possible) so you need 7 dinners for one week what would you want for 7 dinners, then do that for a month ect so maybe you have a favorite meal every Saturday, so you need 4 of those same ingredients to make a month. So pasta, spaghetti every Monday, Soup and sandwiches every Tuesday, Mashed Potatoes, stuffing and ham and a vegetable every Wednesday, Beef stew and Mashed Potatoes or noodles on Thursday, Cream Tuna on toast or noodles or Rice on Friday( add additional Vegetables and or fruit servings or Biscuits, Beans with any of the meals) you get the idea! Yes Shampoo, soap, toothpaste, extra toothbrush, floss , extra hand cream , dish soap, basic things you use on a regular basis , have an extra on hand. Pain meds, cold / Flu meds. Sugar, salt, B powder, flour, oil, Oatmeal, Tea, Coffee , just have an extra if you cab. Watch for sales on pasta ect

Iron skillets can also be used as a weapon.

You can also buy tray liners for cast iron and cook inside the tray to keep cast iron clean

I work in big welding shop and someone hacked the companies system 5 or 6 weeks ago to a point they shut the shop down for a week. We are working again but the system still isn't working right. I agree with the something is definitely about to come part as well.

For those who have t started preparing a good start would be 90 days. When times get tough that would be a responsible number of days until the situation can be accessed and we can get up and running again. Of course 6 months to several years would be even better.

Instead of sauce use generic tomato soup cheaper. Use hotdogs for meat. For chili get tube of hamburger fry all up in patties room temp then freeze. If making chili use that hamburger for meat add kidney beans generic tomato soup n crackers a peanut butter sandwich and iced Sun tea

Look what happened to Ukraine in the 30's under the communist regime- millions of people were starved to death. I think spiritual renewal is far more important, the Lord will take care of His flock. Personally I would learn how to preserve foods by canning them than buy them off the shelf, then there is freeze drying foods, its a good idea too, drying meats to preserve them is an option. Then a bug out location can be important if youre not safe at home or you want to stay and defend you'll need defensive options. Always plan the worst hope for the best

Sandy sppke of canned goods - I can meat all the time, i also dehydrate meat all the time - If you pre cook meat befor its canned it will srink up quite a bit - even up to 50% - If you dehydrate cooked meat it will shrink up another 50% - Ten pounds of cooked chicken thighs makes up about 3 pint jars of caned chicken some times more - Also the bones should be slow cooked 24 hours or pressure cooker 8 hrs tilll you can crush the bones with your fingers - The bones from ten pownds of chicken will make at least 1 or 2 pints of chicken bone broth - The bones can be dehydrated and ground into a fine powder stored in pint jars and be used as bone meal - Today no one uses bone meal but old cook books before 1900 often refer to using bone meal in a dish - For those with IBS or weight problems - you might look up cornavor diets on you tube -- thats a diet thats primarily meat and eggs - If your eating a grain based diet you will have to eat 2 to 3000 calaries a day of food - also many will continue to have weight problems that are eating primarily grain diets - Meat is a nutrient dence food so most do fine on 2 to 300 calories of meat daily - In the end you dont have to have as much food, put for hard times - Canned food has an indefinite shelf life as long as the seal does not brake - The down side with canned meats is they dont handle freezing well - If thats the case dehydrate it -
