Instead of saying “one of the only weightlifting shows in the world,” can you instead state “the first weightlifting show in the world, or the longest airing weightlifting show in the world?” Because if your old slogan was “the only weightlifting show in the world” then that would either hint that you were the first, or at that time you were the only one, and since you still make content, you’d be the longest running weightlifting show. Just food for thought.

@3:18 the Asian games were held with 2020 Tokio Olympics weight categories (which i believe Asian games always follow the olympics before them), thats why there was no 102 or 89 (and Tian Tao have been a 96 even with sub 89 bw) And Giga weighed 100.8kg iirc

Because the Asian Games just adopt the former Olympics (Tokyo) catagories. Since the Asian games was postpone for one year and the qualification process has done according to the old catagory, so the new olympic 102kg was not included. That is not the Asian Games's problem, the IWF changes the catagories too frequently these years.

Hey Seb and everyone else inerested,, the Event in Doha will get streamed by the IWF themselves. They confirmed this on an Instagram post which they published a couple days ago. Same as it was with the Havana Grand Prix! It's very unfortunate you guys can't stream it but at least there will be a stream at all I guess

Asian games used the previous Olympic category. I guess HZ Asian games was originally set to hold in Fall of 2021 right after Tokyo Olympic, and IWF haven’t changed the categories yet…

When Shi returns he has to total 338 to beat teammate Wei’s 337. If he’s snatching 160 that means 178 cl&jk. He can probably power clean that and jerk it 2 or 3 times. Remember the 190 power clean at worlds 4 or 5 yrs ago. Rostami will have a tougher time returning. He did 380 at last year’s Worlds but Jabari has now done 384.

Dang, would really like to see the Qatar Cup. No offence, but the Meso Rostami vid is unmatched. Even my non-weightlifting friends enjoy that one, a classic for the ages.

In JJOO 2024 there is not a 73kg category (Cat of Shi...) Probably he was trainning to up his bodyweight to the next olimpic category! (Or i hope, we need to see him lifting heavy again)

Oh man...DPRK?! Knowing what I know about North Korea, it breaks my heart for those athletes but that the same time I cant help but root for them. Back at World, when Vibert and Rogers beat out that North Korean in the division; Im terrified, and sure she and quite possibly her family were jailed for third place.

I know I got my money’s worth with the 20 bucks or whatever I paid for all sessions at the worlds plus some pretty insightful commentary from Seb and Max. I’d take that over IWF any day of the week.
