Another great video. ❤❤❤❤❤. HOGS is (without any doubt) the best Helicopter channel on KZfaq.

Eezy Peezy Kenny...nice presentation....In Army flight school we started off with the basics...then were taught various techniques we would need to get into various locations due to the mission or tactical requirements sometimes non-standard creative approaches...but you always needed to know and be able to fly the basics to standards...

Really nice tip for me as a hobby flight simmer. Since I picked up the Mi-24 Hind, I have been flying it around, the few tips you brought here helps nail the approaches in that heavy soviet helicopter in the simulator, thinking of the cyclic as your speed control and collective as your angle and just keep it all constant is a good tip. Now to learn the proper sight lines in the Hind to perfect that normal approach to a runway.

That visual reference is right at the entry. It’s only gonna look the same all the way down if you’re nailed on a constant rate of deceleration. If you’re also adjusting your speed up and down with the cyclic, that picture is gonna keep changing too right? So isn’t there a danger for people getting the hang of this overthink it if they’re trying to stabilise both at once?

The collective controls the angle and yes you can keep the same angle all the way down. Then gradually slowing the aircraft down all the way in with the cyclic.
