What's the main class you've been grinding in Arena? Did I miss anything?

Scout is what I've mostly focused on and its really fun but you gotta hit your shots.

Scout has been my main class as well. Recently moved over to Marksman for a little bit of variety but totally agree with you. The PBP kit is where I really started to notice that. As soon as some of those AR kits get the good armors you have to hit every bullet or just aim for headies. Against face shields it's even harder because they can bounce some rounds. Weaver is when it really starts to compete with the other classes. Which tree did you focus?

Thank you! I know right? Really want to get further down the other side of a couple trees. Might give CQB a try to see if I end up liking any of the kits. They just don't really vibe with me for some reason.

can I do both skill trees at a time in CQB or do I have to chose one or the other my buddy said I could only do one at a time and I don't want to ruin my progress on one if I go to the other side

Great question! You can absolutely do both. I’ve done both sides of Scout. You keep all the progress you’ve made. Let it rip on the other side.

Fucking awesome and smartly put together with solid points. Got my sub and like. I chose scout. Then seen fun with grenades and almost regret going assault for a few tiers. Now I want all the scouts and maybe dip into marksmen.

Hey! Thank you so much! Scout it my main as well. Down to Weaver and enjoyed it soooo much. Agree with you on the grenades. I swap over to Assult sometimes and I'm thinkin "man this is nice to get a few elims with grenades every match." Been maining Marksmen since the last event and got down to the RSASS kit so far. It's stupid fun, but with everyone a little higher on the kit tree it struggles a bit with the ammo it has. Going to keep messing with it though. Definitely recommend that grind if you're looking to play something new for fun. Definitely want all the scouts now though. Appreciate you taking the time to comment and sub!! Really loving this game and making content about it.

It feels like the good solution is: Give players ability to make their own presets with exact given amount of money. For example, on the first rank you have only 100k roubles. You can by a pistol for 10k, sight and ammo for 10k. And spend the rest on armour. OR you could invest everything in 366. ap-m ammo on shitty bolt action rifle. As you rank up, you can choose between more gear and spend more money on it. It adds SO MUCH diversity in gameplay, especially with new recoil In result, we have all the abilities that tarkov has with all diversity in attachments, guns and gear, also the fast pvp that arena can offer. No grind and pain because of stupid preset , you have ONLY YOURSELF to blame if preset sucks. This method is easier to balance (if something is used too often- increase its price), it’s unique- I didn’t see anything like that in any competitive games. It also solves the problem of AMP (arena meta points), because everyone on the same rank has exact amount of money. Just matchmake similar ranks and forget about AMP. Also this system allows players to change presets mid-game. Just save 3-4 presets for every rank and choose between them at the start of the round This is how i see the future of Arena

Really interesting hearing your point about how often a kit is used being tied to a sort of in-game economy. Haven't heard anything like that before. Selected more = more price. The only other thing I thought of is I wonder if the kits we can build will be tired to the AMP in terms of this scope = this many points and you can only have 200 points if you're in D+ lobbies. The biggest question I have is how ranked is going to work once they open up the unranked playlists. The best competitive games I've seen have pretty set kits so there's less variables and it's truly based on skills. Aiming, OBJ play, movement, map knowledge, etc. so I'm not sure how they balance the customization available in this game without restricting everyone the kits that tie to their ARP. Hope that makes sense. It's something I think about a lot because I'm really curious. Appreciate you taking the time to comment! Love talking about this stuff.

Lol agreed. Scout seems like the best in the game so far. BS has been lettin me down a bit here recently though. Trying to finish off the Weaver kit tree grind. Got distracted leveling all the other trees over the past month. Be interesting to see if it still stands out after they do some balancing like adding ears to more of the other class presets.

Played roughly 70 games through the double xp event. IMO Scout feels far and away the most useful class. Having ears and ammo that will pen any helmet in the game means you can ambush and win fights before they even knew there was a fight, plus It feels like your light armor still blocks bullets from the beefier classes since they have relatively weaker ammo. The SMGs can beam people from across the map too, I can drop my sidearm that also has stellar ammo for a lower-gear teammate. I like to rat around high traffic areas and be silent while giving callouts, and then push when there is chaos and it's great. Playing other classes without ears feels miserable.

I absolutely agree with you. I've played with every class and the Scout seems to be the most useful and diverse. Having ears is insanely valuable in this game. I know I mentioned it, but I didn't expect it to give you such an advantage when I first started playing. Kind of wild how many times I've said something like "I can hear someone on the other side of this wall" and my teammates are like "what, really?" is nuts. Crazy how often you can push people in high traffic areas and they don't hear you until the last second. Love the mobility the class gives you. Your sidearm point is definitely something I missed. Done the same a lot with the sidearms you get later in the trees. I've been playing Marksman a lot recently and had loads of fun with it until a majority of people unlocked kits like Butcher. M80 mixed with a low fire rate aren't much help there.

@@SoopChefTV Yeah I've been grinding the different scout trees and currently on weaver, and I can just drop my shrimp for a buddy grinding the mosin class and then he is able to still contribute in higher gear lobbies which is nice. that pistol gets like 32 or 38 pen its pretty great, relatively speaking. Think I might go and grind the semi auto marksman line, looks pretty fun.

I'll also say that the first two left side scout classes are the most fun I've had. Handler and Runner I think. They're just silly and incredibly strong for that level. Insanely high fire rate spitting out AP 9mm at tier 1 is so fun to rat with.

@poopman384 the semi-auto marksman is a lot of fun. It's a little bit of pain, but once you get to Shade it feels nice. The RSASS is definitely better though because it has ears. No ears on the SR25 is pain as you know. 32 or 30 pen on that mosin class is perfect. That bolty tree is scary lol. Oh man I've had a blast with that pistol kit. Need to grind that side more with this event.

I realllly hope we get some comms from them on that soon. Curious to see how they handle it. If they do wipe, I sort of hope it's all new kits. Not having the same grindy stuff that Tarkov has is a big part of the appeal I think. Nice to have a fun, competitive place to play the game. Long-term I'm not sure the game needs wipes. What are you thinking?

@@SoopChefTV I personally think it should just not be a game that wipes, makes no sense. Like what if Warthunder wiped, you grind a tree to get the coolest top tier thing and it just wipes in six months, doesn't work.

@@schmeatballz7319 completely agree. I could see one when they unlock the rest of the game and maybe rearrange some kits with some balance changes, but long-term it doesn't need to be. Maybe some incentives or cosmetics if you want to reset a class after maxing it or something. (idk just throwing stuff out there) but I hope they don't wipe the whole game. Hoping they follow other ranked games and do the ranked in seasons or something so it's something new to grind, but wipes like the main game don't seem to make sense.
