If you have a smaller wrist and felt the 42mm Seiko 5s were big then this will be a better choice for you. It's a fun watch and its good to have different size options which Seiko is catering to right now. The SKX013 existed for those who didn't want the bigger SKX007/009, so are these new 38mm models.

I bought this watch after reading and watching reviews that specifically mention the wrist size of the person reviewing the watch. I have a 6 1/2 inch wrist and several of the reviews that I saw had reviewers that also stated that they also had that size wrist. One factor I was worried about was the bracelet only having 2 micro adjustments, but multiple reviews said that the watch adjusted perfectly for 6 1/2 inch wrists and that the watch laid on the wrist nicely for the dimensions. My watch arrived and after removing the links to size it, it was perfect. I've not removed it since I got it and my larger diver watches seem huge now. Some times you want big, sometimes small. I'm glad Seiko makes both.

Great take on this watch and the watch influencer model as a whole. The first "real" watch I ever bought for myself was an SKX about 20 years ago so Seiko always has a soft spot in my heart. I've been looking for a "masculine" style watch for my wife to compliment her 33mm Tissot and this model checks all of the boxes: price, heritage, design. That said, it's not for everyone and your feedback is welcome and rare in the current KZfaq influencer model.

You say it’s way too small for your wrist but I find that it literally looks perfect on your wrist. In fact I would say the SKX you where comparing it too looks a little big on your wrist. A small watch looks good on everyones wrist but a big watch only looks good on big wrists In my opinion.

I suspected this watch would wear too small for most men, thanks for confirming. Your reviews are well shot with considered opinions, I have bought a watch you reviewed, the G-Shock gm-2100c -5a and the 58mm lug to lug worried me, but my wrist is just large enough and I love it. You are correct about KZfaq 90% of videos are just unboxings by sales assistants with no criticism at all.

Does the seiko 5kx wear smaller than the certina ds action 38mm diver? I’m looking at the certina but wanted to go try on the 5kx 38mm to see if it like fit my 6.5in wrist well since there’s very few options in the US to try on the certina.

I bought this watch last week but in black exactly for the 38mm case. I have tiny wrists and I'm so glad there's a diver (style) I can comfortably wear. That being said, for one crazy moment I tried on the orange one in the store but I knew pretty quickly it wasn't for me.

I bought the Seiko 5 srpd73, with mesh Milanese bracelet. It was very luxurious but lost 1 minute a day, so i sent it back.. Watching KZfaqrs talking good about Orient and it's sapphire, i bought the Triton. Compared to Seiko it wasn't good looking, felt cheap and Chinese. So i sent it back. I ordered the dame Seiko again from Amazon, hope it runs ok and the bezel alignment is right. Seiko does feel more luxurious. Do you think it's ok to loose 50 sec - 1 minute a day? Have any suggestions for another watch?

The small 5KX has the same problem of the standard 5KX: a good watch with good looks and sizes but totally overpriced. I can never shake off the impression that for $200 Orient does much better with the Kamasu (although it obviously a 42, not 38). Nevertheless i do respect Seiko for jumping into the trend of smaller dive watches.

Tons of videos showing love for Invicta, so I purchased one, it was worst watch ever purchased, there is a lot going on, on the face, the logo and lettering where out of place, I couldn't bare to look at it and changed the face. Seiko watches available for not much more money.

Captain Pedantic informs me that the colour is actually turquoise not teal. After this news I researched & although close , I tend to agree bit it's close..very light teal..meets dark turquoise..??Even my Pantone swatch doesn't agree- help!!

No,perfect example is Islander watches, after buying few models I saw manny flaws in Islander but also legit fear in famous watch you tubers when reviewing that brand. Ali express brands are crap for hommaging the other brands while Islander is so cool for doing exactly the same thing.

Now imagine if Seiko made a true modern SKX remake. A 38 and 42mm version, a updated 6R56 movement, sapphire crystal, choice between classic steel or hardlex bezelinsert and the new smart adjust clasp. Id be willing to spend over 1500 euro for something like that...

For the average person with average size wrists a 35mm PRX is an unbeatable, well made, beautifully proportioned all rounder without breaking the bank - if only Tissot would release the 35mm with the Powermatic 80 - then I’d say this is the perfect watch

Cannot agree more with this. I'm guilty of this too. I've got the PRX Powermatic 80 in Ice Blue. But I'm already certain that I'll be purchasing a mango or orange dial when it releases. And probably the chronograph too. Because I gotta have em.

I love Seiko, I love me some "tiffany dial". But this is not it for me. 38mm is on the small side. Cannot tolerate gold color on my watches. I hate bezels. I dislike they giving me hardlex on a 300€+ watch. Give me this teal dial in your classic "sword" hands and batton markers in 40 mm and I pay any sum. Saphire IS a must.

I do think these look great, and the size is fantastic! But.... it's overpriced at release. With Seiko, it just takes enough patience to wait for the prices to come down to Earth. A mistake I'll only make once.

Seiko is absolute garbage and I don’t understand how people are ok with their quality when they have Grand Seiko they have the full ability to make 1400 watches or 900 watches at the level of like Certina or Mido but instead they would rather sell garbage because they know people will buy it.

This color is terrible on a Seiko, and the gold hands was a terrible choice. If you want your watch to look like cotton candy then this the watch for you. It was a bad color choice for Oris and it’s horrible for Seiko. Don’t need and KZfaq review to connivence me otherwise lol. This one is a fail when it comes to the color.

The specs are not there. If i was into buying this particular 38mm i would get the snoopy limited edition. Of course i would mod it(clasp or entire bracelet and the throw the hardlex away)
