I'm pretty sure it was Archimedes who did the rectangle approximation technique, he labelled it the Method Of Exhaustion. Riemann took the idea further and formalised it with integration notation.

Great video, but I am fairly certain it is a mistake to say Riemann didn't do this first, it was Leibniz.
