I know what you mean lol, a lot people are infatuated with the IDEA of Aretha's voice. Not everyone is all that invested in her actually musicality or at least not the casual music listeners.

I definitely agree!!!!!!!she is definitely the greatest singer of all time. She could sing opera,soul.pop,gospel,r&b,blues and etc….play piano ….u can’t tell me she’s not the best. She even has 28 Grammies,a asteroid named after her. Can hit low and high up until her death. She’s the best. Nobody will ever convince otherwise

Exactly, it seems like when I think I’ve seen and heard everything, she seems to blow me away. Whether it’s something important she’s done or her singing like a madwoman. I just had the chance to watch her full performance of “Can’t turn you a loose” on SNL in 1980 today. When I tell you it was 🔥🔥🔥!!!!

@@ejtv4880 Yes. She rarely sang just to show off her chops. That vocal magic came from inside that holy place. Those riffs, runs, moans, groans, screams, shouts and squalls are full of meaning. She expressed the soul of a people. The good doctor for body and soul!

@@ABadHairDay Only a nut would make such a ridiculous comparison. Celine has a great big powerful voice but again, it is standard mediocrity compared to the beauty of sound posessed by Aretha. Celine can half emulate the vocal runs of Aretha and hit high belts, but she could never be on the same level as Aretha's sound in her prime. They sang together in 1998 when Aretha was 56 years old and Aretha still was boss and although Celine tried to copy the originality of Aretha's vocal runs it wasn't perfection by any means. I repeat, Aretha is a rivalless artist.

@@tammi4416 yep, Miss Diana Ross is more famous globally and was big on any charts, but aretha doesn’t only stops at hitting charts, she’s known as the greatest singer because of her talent in singing, technique, versatility, musicality, etc. (I can add more) she’s the singer’s singer, the one who inspired countless singers namely whitney, mariah, mary j blige, etc. and MOST IMPORTANTLY SHE’S THE UNDISPUTED QUEEN OF SOUL
