After a hard Deer season, my Argo's engine is hardly running and needs to be removed and looked at. In this video, we will rebuild the top end of a Kohler Magnum m18 Motor from the Argo.

You are truly underrated, bro. I accidentally found you while searching for something on YT and watched every single episode of Argo 8x8. Keep up the good work!

Appreciate the kind words man! I had the old rig out for some deer season scouting and exploring today, it performed perfect

Awesome work Bennett!! 😁👍 You can't beat how easily it starts now! Happy to see you also ran across a parts machine as well. Never hurts to have extra parts ready when you need them. I hope things are going well for you. Take care and happy wrenching 🔧🔩

Thanks Zane! I'm a little on the edge about trying to save that parts machine, or just leaving it as is. We'll see how it goes. It's coming onto hunting season again here soon, so we'll see if that head gasket holds up or not

It's mostly the video editing that slows it down. I use to really enjoy the editing, but now I find it kills me to sit down and do it.

FYI, I believe that new head gasket is made of a material we call “grafoil”. I work in maintenance at a paper mill in upstate NY and we use this material for sealing high temperature applications. Basically a sandwich of stainless steel foil between two layers of graphite impregnated fibers. At least as far as I can tell from the video, it should be more than suitable for that purpose.

@@johncook931 glad to hear it! I've been a little worried about the service life of that head gasket. So far so good though

Would you happen to recall what the model number of this motor is? Looking to order a new starter for mine.
